Are we going to buy or have we peaked?

I think the only one I still am interested in is the Harrods, although the Ren is putting me off massively, even though it’s one drawer, though not keen on the lipstick either. I also wish they put a better perfume in too. I’m not selling it to myself am I 😁

JL…definitely a no, hate all OTO products. Had the sleep drops in the BD and they made me feel sick 🤢

Fenwicks I had last year discounted, it was definitely not worth full price, though 50% off was a good deal.

Such a shame I can’t pick and choose drawers from each calendar!

I missed last years calendars as me, DH and 3 adult DCs all went away over Christmas. We made a joint decision to cancel Christmas (and calendars ☹️). It was a bit weird not buying beauty calendars or presents but totally liberating.

However, this Christmas is definitely on and I’m back doing my Advent Calendar shopping.

Not popular but I think I’m sticking with JL. DD3 who is normally easy to please is not impressed with Batiste Dry Shampoo in Glossy Box. DD1 is quite liking Selfridges. And DD2 is gutted Harrod’s perfume advent is sold out.

Liberty has historically been my favourite. Though in recent years I've cut back. Especially since I have 3 children with December birthdays 🙈

I may go for the Elemis one. Since Elemis is my favourite skin care brand and has been for at least 10 years.

Not tempted by JL, which was the only one that tempted me last year. Unless Boots is amazingly different I am set firm for Diptyque.

I had Anthropologie last year which was good on a cheaper level so that is only other one that might turn me this year!

Can I ask a question , I’ve had the H&B one a couple of times and the Macmillian one last year , I think I fancy M & S this year . However I wouldn’t normally spend the extra money on home or clothes , does anyone buy something extra and return it and keep the AC? ( maybe lots do that , just wondered if you can keep the AC that way ) ta

I’ve never done that but others on here have and it’s fine. I always get kids’ pyjamas at the same time.

Yes you can do this and many do. I don't think it's great though, as if many people do this it may just make M&S increase the price in the end.

Agree with @serena7 if everybody starts returning items they will just increase the cost of the calender, it's not really in the spirit of things. I can always find things to buy

I think the Boots one is being released today. Not on the website yet.

I like Anthropologie and F&M this year but not sure I like them enough to go for them. I'm not wowed by anything really. A good discount on something else might sway me. I'm actually quite excited about my Bonne Maman calendar!

Yes that's what Beauty Advent Calendar said, but not sure if they got the release date wrong as there has been no promo from Boots except a sneak peek clip weeks ago.

Thanks for the replies , if it was the food hall I’d have no problem spending the extra , wanted to check and see if it was what most people did and I was being mad over thinking it , or if it was a cheeky thing to do .

I am definitely going for Space NK one, haven’t bought one for a few years and have really focussed hard on getting most of what I had accumulated used up from calendars and general hoarding so there’s loads of things in there that will be new to me and a few that I’ve used and really enjoyed. 2 that I can think of that I won’t use but will pass on.
just waiting for a release date now, I’m getting impatient!

All these years I’ve heard people getting excited about the Holland and Barrett advent calendar I couldn’t understand why people were so up for it - I presumed it was all seeds and nuts and senna tablets - it’s bloody skincare 😂

Not fancying H&B again this year, but can see it being of interest for those buying it for the first time.

I may be going off JL now...I hadn't realised those OTO things were supplements, I thought they were some kind of serum. I'm really not a fan of supplements in beauty calendars!
I've had another look at Sephora and that's back in the running.
If H&B had any other Upcircle product rather than the scrub I'd be getting it. I love their serum, eye cream and cleansing balm and buy them regularly. I also buy the Weleda body lotion so having those two products in the calendar would have made it a very cost effective purchase for me! But I really dislike the Upcircle scrub. If it gets discounted I might be tempted though.
I'm also having a look at Lumene. The oat cleanser in the JL calendar looks lovely and I really liked the orange facial oil stuff from last year. But would I get bored with a single brand calendar?
I'm being too indecisive this year! I need a spreadsheet!
