Just checked Boots website & the app & the premium & No7 calendars aren't showing.

I also signed up for early access on them & I haven't received any emails about them being ready to buy

The date they are available to buy must be wrong

Housewife2010 · 12/09/2023 17:57

Last year LIB/Style released a picture a while before it was released with silhouettes of the products. We already knew all the brands, so it was easy to work out the majority of the products. They've been much more cagey this time.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 12/09/2023 18:04

Peaked, I think, but I still want to be on the thread! Might change my mind if discounts come along, I'm a soft touch.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 12/09/2023 18:07

I'm not really feeling it for any of the big brands this year. Last year I really enjoyed M&S and Anthropologie (was not so keen on Origins and Cowshed) so I might just get those again.

Twinsandsome · 12/09/2023 18:29

I actually really like the look of the fenwicks one what is wrong with me!!

I know there’s only 12 drawers but things I’d really like
BS serum £90
EFG £129
Evidenz day cream £147

id be happy trying the rest and only 3 things I’m not sure about/ drawer of disappointment
the face stamp
AB cream (but it’s in them all)
benefit cleanser

but then it’s only 12 days so I’d have to do it every other day and I love having something to open each day as a reward for stressing out from October forward planning for the rest of family xx

DollyDaisyDo · 12/09/2023 18:50

Thank you @YorkieTheRabbit and @TheFlis - nothing in the M&S one wows me so I think it's the HB for me.... Although maybe the Fenwick one......

ferretface · 12/09/2023 18:54

My longlist is as follows (includes some non beauty ones also):

Pact coffee: always get this and definitely getting again
Bonne Maman: think someone else has mentioned this. I got it last year and really enjoyed the little pots of jam. The price has gone up but you also seem to get some spreads. Will probably buy.

Maybes:
Lush bath bomb calendar (£125) - the other lush calendar has zero interest for me as i only like a couple of products from Lush other than the bath bombs. However, I do really really like the bath bombs which I use as a treat for long runs. 25 would last me all year. However....you aren't really saving anything by getting the calendar, I'm not bothered about the AC exclusive products and not sure about the bubble bars. Tbc but I've probably talked myself out of this one and it likely makes more sense to buy the odd bath bomb in scents I know I like as and when I want them.

Glossybox (£70/£80): products of particular interest are the perfume, lashes, candle and there's quite a lot of other stuff that I'd be happy with. Only a couple of duds. Does this one ever go on sale? If so that would probably swing it.

Sephora (£185): the one I'm most drawn towards however it does still have a couple of duds as far as I'm concerned. Not released til October so have longer to think it over.

Stokey · 12/09/2023 19:15

@Twinsandsome you could do it on the 12 days of Christmas from 24 -6 Jan, and then have another one for the first 25 days!

I'm sceptical about the sizes as last year Fenwicks had really tiny sizes.

QueefofSheena · 12/09/2023 19:58

Glossybox went down to about £45 last year in the end iirc. I'd definitely buy it if it's reduced. I like the look of the perfume, palette, candle and quite a few of the other bits. I'd also seriously consider Fenwicks if it's reduced, worth it for the serum alone.

I don't really get the love for H&B but I've never had one.

Topsyturvey10 · 12/09/2023 20:18

I feel completely overwhelmed with the choice of calendars. Last year I saved up and got Liberty, Space Nk and M&S. I opened one November, December and January and the products have lasted me a year, I've still got some stash left and I've gifted stuff too.

I prefer skincare rather than makeup, what would you experts suggest? I think M&S because it's a reasonable price but I have enough for a treat one too, I'm not interested in hair clips or makeup really, I don't use black mascara and have about 4 of them😬

MavisMcMinty · 12/09/2023 20:31

Starting to wonder if I should box up a few of my old ACs and sell them to the posters on this thread. You can tell me your DoDs and I promise not to include them, although have about 20 unopened/unused black eyeliners to get rid of, honestly, don’t know ANYONE who uses them, can’t give ‘em away.

EasterIssland · 12/09/2023 21:32

Here for the gossip as i think I won’t get. Any

PomRuns · 12/09/2023 21:54

I had another look at m and s. Lots of useful things and I’ll give my niece anything else.

plus fortnums for the cult 51 cream.

Stoic123 · 12/09/2023 21:56

Nothing really appeals to me at the moment but I may well be tempted by a discount to avoid December FOMO.

Trying to work out why I'm not feeling the love so much this year and I think it's a combination of:

  • Too much high end stuff has built up in my stash that I need to try out/use up- feels wasteful and senseless buying more.
  • Really turned off by a few specific items that have been done to death (e.g. REN AHA)
  • Already have established HGs for some product types (e.g. Vit C) so less of an incentive to try new brands.
Off to watch Cosmetopia for a bit of a laugh.

Massive thank you for all the recommendations to check out Cosmetopia absolutely love her.

used to watch Pampered Wolf a lot on YouTube so might pick them both back up as got out of the habit of looking at anything other than work and professional development stuff (joys of being self employed!)

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 13/09/2023 00:33

Funnily enough Nars Orgasm blusher & Laguns bronzer are my drawers of delight as myself & DD use them most days.
We never can have too many of them 😁

Theraffarian · 13/09/2023 06:45

MacMillan is in boots start buys today , so down to £44 , for those looking at the cheaper end of AC. ( eg me ! )

hby9628 · 13/09/2023 07:21

@Topsyturvey10 if you like skincare then maybe Elemis or Templespa. I know lots of people don't like templespa as it is a dubious selling set up but I have some of the products and they are beautiful. I'd love the advent calendar but just can't afford it this year unless it drops in price.

Cinnamonandcoal · 13/09/2023 07:40

I was going to just get M&S but looked at the contents and now I think not.

I've had the Liberty one for the last two years but probably won't buy any this year. I still have a bunch of serums I haven't opened.

However, I did discover some great products so would rather use the money to just buy those outright.

I've kept the calendars and will use them for my kids.

Twinsandsome · 13/09/2023 07:42

I’m wondering if because I’ve already bought the space nk advent calendar they won’t send me a code because I wouldn’t be their target audience as I’ve bought? I am a deluxe nudge member so would be annoyed if that’s the case

TheCatterall I also like watching Pampered Wolf videos on YouTube but have gone off her since she started Botox.

The Anthropologie one seems to ship to ROI @OchonAgusOchonOh and @TheDuchessOfMN.

Thank you @Peridot1 . I'm after a mixed brand one though.
