I only buy products from Liberty that aren’t stocked elsewhere so have no problem with saving my money with them. Essentially I’ve had two “free” advent calendars and a bangle since I signed up so I’m not going to complain about the boxes.

You're still paying £240 a year so those items were not free.
You can either consider the boxes free or the items you buy with the credit but not both.

ApoodlecalledPenny · 16/01/2024 20:17

I quite like the perfume, but it has no staying power on me at all. Put some on at 5, and can barely smell it now. Which is strange as it smells super strong when it first goes on!

I drew grapefruit in the hand cream, so hopefully that’ll smell nice. And I’d never buy an eye mask but I’m happy to try one.

I know it’s not free, but I do enjoy getting the boxes, trying new things (especially perfume) and then getting something juicy with my vouchers (when it feels relatively pain free).

I’ve also found some keepers this year - the Oi All in one milk works really well for my hair, and smells wonderful.

My purchases feel free - that’s why I used inverted commas. By the time I spend the money I’ve saved I’ve completely forgotten it leaving my bank account.

Yeah I get that, I'm the same really.
But not great for my budgeting 😂

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 17/01/2024 07:50

@Blossomtoes I consider it to be a savings plan for impulse purchases further down the line! I didn't have the advent calendar this year. Still working through the last one.

Is it just me, or is it complicated trying to fit random serums from advents/beauty boxes into an existing skin care regime?

Angiebaby99 · 17/01/2024 08:12

mine came yesterday. Really underwhelmed with this one but the saving element is good. I save all year and buy christmas gifts with the savings.

It’s very complicated I find. Added to which some serums are not designed with your personal skin care needs in mind so get pushed to the bottom of the pile each time. I’m yet to try the alarmingly named‘resurfacing serum’ from 2022 for example.
On the other hand I have no trouble getting through basic moisturisers and cleansers and eye creams or body lotions so they are always good to find in the box.

oops

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 17/01/2024 23:21

@narniabusiness I think the scary resurfacer is still in my pile! Glad it isn't just me.

MadamVastra · 18/01/2024 01:04

My hair is too fine for the hair pomade so as usual I improvised and my feet are now very soft 😂 Her hair oil from the calendar I think? has transformed my cuticles as well! And they both smell so good

Frazzgirl · 09/02/2024 18:46

Has anyone got any Davines Shampoo or Conditioner recommendations please. I used a yellow one once in one of the boxes and it was really nice x

hettiethehare · 09/02/2024 19:00

@Frazzgirl I think that was Nou Nou - I like that one as well. I haven’t tried the conditioner though.

RockaLock · 09/02/2024 19:06

I am using the Davines "love" shampoo at the moment, and I really like it.

I have fine hair (but lots of it iyswim), it's more or less straight but prone to frizz and fluff in damp/humid weather (I.e. all the time) and has a sprinkling of crinkly greys.

It seems to help smooth everything down and stop it getting quite as fluffy in the rain, but without weighing my hair down and making it feel greasy. and my hair feels nice and soft and shiny.

Cyclingmummy1 · 09/02/2024 19:16

I bought Minu (I think) but I'm not that keen @Frazzgirl I always feel my hair is dry with it.

brogueish · 09/02/2024 20:35

I’ve been using the alchemy silver one, it’s the nicest purple shampoo I’ve tried. Not drying. In contrast I didn’t love the Nounou one in the box so make of that what you will.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 09/02/2024 21:30

I'm using the OI shampoo, I think I got it in the advent calendar. It's lovely. I have fine hair, really prone to frizz. I use the shampoo and the oil and would recommend them both.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 09/02/2024 23:03

NouNou has been my best-loved discovery from these boxes by far. I’ve just shelled out for a 1 litre size (looks hilariously big)

I haven’t got heavily processed hair, which I think is what it’s supposedly for. Mine isn’t even coloured these days. But it’s so perfect — I don’t need conditioner when I use it and it still leaves my ageing fine hair lovely and soft and light and glossy, not stripped or parched. I will use it for ever.

I did also try Minu or whatever it’s called, but that one didn’t suit me as much. The ways of shampoo are mysterious 😶‍🌫️

Cyclingmummy1 · 09/02/2024 23:05

I liked NouNou @LemonJuiceFromConcentrate but bought Minu because I've coloured rather than bleached hair. I'm disappointed 😞

lapsedbookworm · 10/02/2024 12:41

I love the nou nou one too. I don't have coloured hair but it is somewhat wrecked by medication, and nou nou seems to really help

TragicMuse · 10/02/2024 19:31

I spanked lots of my BD credit last year on Davines. I love the blue one for curly/wavy hair. And the other curl stuff. It smells great too!

Pigtailsandall · 10/02/2024 22:22

Right, my £20 got taken out today and I now have a slightly ridiculous balance of £240. I really need to get shopping. But somehow I feel a bit paralysed cause I keep thinking the products are cheaper elsewhere 😅

I definitely don't want hair or bath products, and have a ton of handcream. I'm thinking of a nice room/pillow spray, and possibly a new night cream. I also thought I had lots of hyaluronic acid but actually I am on my last bottle... any recommendations of hero products?

£240 is a lot! I don’t think my balance has ever reached three figures 😅 I’ve racked up £80 and have no plans to buy anything, so I’m finally managing to save up a bit.
