Mine just arrived with no email warning. I really like the perfume and would like to smell some of their others. I'm wondering if Liberty have an alternative for Vilhelm's Moon Carnival since it's never in stock.

TheSandHurtsMyFeelings · 16/01/2024 17:01

Mine's just arrived too.

Least exciting box so far for me, although I'm pleased there's a perfume as I set myself a challenge of wearing a different perfume every day in 2024!

The rest I'm not exactly wowed by (definitely don't need any more bloody hand cream) but they'll go in the stash and no doubt will be opened at some point. I agree it's churlish to moan too much since they're effectively freebies, but this is definitely not my fave box so far.

QueefofSheena · 16/01/2024 17:06

This is a middling box for me. I really don’t like the smell of the hand cream and had to wash it off. I quite like the perfume and cleanser.

Ap24 · 16/01/2024 15:51

Maybe but they do advertise the yearly contents as worth £300. And then you lock your money in with them when you could often buy the same products cheaper elsewhere.

Even if its free I don't think it's ungrateful or spoilt to comment on a box not being for you. They will be hit or miss for different people and I quite like hearing other people opinions or products they prefer.

This. It is absolutely ok to critique something that is "free", and I only see the box as semi-free anyway. There is no way I would be banking my £20 a month with Liberty for something I might like at some point in the future to buy if I didn't get the boxes. I'd much rather just keep the £20 a month in cash and decide myself where to spend it, so it's free...but with several strings attached. I feel like this box was a bit tired and unimaginative, with nothing really exciting jumping out. I might cancel and reassess later in the year when I've used up a few hand creams and cleansers.

Also agree with pp that makeup would be fun, although I get that it's a bit more difficult to balance with different skintones/haircolours/etc.

Which hand cream scent did you get? I got Spruce which I’ve convinced myself will smell like a Christmas tree.

I did hit the jackpot though and got two sachets of the Votary face cream 😊

Cyclingmummy1 · 16/01/2024 17:28

Arrived home to a card saying 'in wood store' coat!

I loved the spruce hand cream last time @Johaanah I've got grapefruit this time.

@HundredMilesAnHour Has your box arrived? Debating whether to open this hand cream or Haeckels 😆

The sachet is ok for a night away, I love an eye mask, I'm a bit dubious about the cleanser as dermalogica moisturiser made my eyes itch, undecided about the hair pomade and don't wear perfume. So a couple of hits and a couple of things for the food bank. But a nice little January treat.

CocoMascara · 16/01/2024 17:36

Was a lovely surprise to come home from work to a box! I really don’t like patchouli, so the perfume is a no for me but I’m sure someone will love it. Also got the patchouli hand cream but it’s not too strong and I go through buckets of hand cream. A client told me my eyes looked tired (thanks!) today so a well timed mask and have wanted to try Charlotte mensah and dermalogica for ages so on balance a good box for me!

CocoMascara · 16/01/2024 17:40

@TheSandHurtsMyFeelings A different perfume every day?! That’s a lot of perfume in a year, what a great resolution!

listsandbudgets · 16/01/2024 17:48

@TheSandHurtsMyFeelings Do you actually have 366 bottles of perfume (it's a leap year) or are you going to be frequenting beauty halls trying out testers every day?

I counted recently and I had 31 - now 32 different perfumes so I suppose I could try a different one every day for a month

narniabusiness · 16/01/2024 17:58

A nice selection I thought. I’d been avoiding this thread as Id not had a dispatch email. Very surprised (and delighted) that it arrived today.
I got the bergamot hand cream, which I’ve resisted opening for a sniff as I’ve several on the go at the moment (placed strategically round the house). Not tried the perfume either because I’d only just dowsed myself in Bohemia from the last box. I quite like the eye masks when they turn up in advent calendars so I’m happy with that one too. Cleanser is always good. I think the Beauty drop has pretty much kept me in cleanser as I’ve only bought one in the last two years.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/01/2024 18:11

@CocoMascara Dermalogica is the dogs. Apparently V Beckham used to have poor skin when she was younger, and credited Dermalogica with turning it round.

Auntiesitting · 16/01/2024 18:25

I was really looking forward to trying a Liberty perfume, but bleurgh, smells sickly sweet, a lot like Miss Dior. Love the rest of the box though.

@Cyclingmummy1 my box hasn't arrived yet. Hoping the local thieves haven't intercepted it as we seem to be plagued with parcel thefts at present.

I keep my Haeckels hand cream on my bedside table and use it every night when I get into bed (Alexa turns the light off so I don't have to touch anything while 'creamed up') then use the Liberty ones as travel hand cream (so either on flights or by my hotel beds, or in the office). So that way you can open them both! 😜

Umbilicate · 16/01/2024 18:47

Mine hasn’t arrived yet either and I’m getting a bit paranoid!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/01/2024 18:48

Delighted with the eye mask and hair stuff. Hand cream is fine, glad not to get spruce this time and I had to wash the perfume off as not for me but loved trying it, the cleanser is boring but will give it go and will probably end up loving it. I love getting the boxes but think it’s fine to complain if they are a bit shit, Liberty do charge more for items and regularly have things out of stock, especially when they have a GWP so it isn’t always convenient to buy from them.

loz12345 · 16/01/2024 18:49

Mines arrived disappointed with the hand cream - I use loads but I have got spruce again and I am allergic to pine but happy with everything else - I do not usually like floral fragrances but the one in the box is surprisingly nice

TheSandHurtsMyFeelings · 16/01/2024 18:53

@listsandbudgets I have an awful lot, if you count samples like the one we got in the box, and mini bottles etc, alongside the full-size bottles.

I'm not sure if I've definitely got 366 separate scents right now (had forgotten about the leap year!) but I will probably buy a few extra samples throughout the year, perhaps get some as presents etc. My DS also has a fair few bottles of lovely fragrances, so I can swipe a squirt from him if desperate!

I am a bit of a perfume junkie 😁

CanImakethisbetter · 16/01/2024 19:01

This is my first beauty drop and I am quite happy with it. But maybe because it’s just my first lol.

all will definitely get used. I really like perfume as well. Tempted to get a full size though I am going to give it a proper go tomorrow. I was hoping for the LBTY perfumes to be in the boxes as I really wanted to try them.

Like the PP above, I am a perfume junkie. Before Christmas I counted mine. If you include decants, travel size and blended perfume oils I had 198 and got some for Christmas, so don’t need anymore. But I might get it.

i am nearly out of cleanser and completely out of hand cream. So win win 😂

Meadowdog · 16/01/2024 19:03

Juay a heads up for others reading with sensitive skin - the dermalogica face wash has been given an irritancy risk rating of "high" from the What's in My Jar website so I'll have to give mine to my sister https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/dermalogica-cleansing-gel

The hair pomade is nice but smells so strong! I think it would suit those with long, dry or damaged, thick hair. I'll use it but just a tiny bit is enough.

Love the hand cream. It isn't particularly moisturising comparer to my kiehsl or l'occitane but it smells great.

CocoMascara · 16/01/2024 19:05

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I've wanted to try their primer for a while, so if I like the cleanser may well get it. Resisting because of the cost, but if it’s good enough for VB…..

TragicMuse · 16/01/2024 19:10

Thanks for the note @Meadowdog - my sensitive skin might give it a swerve!

I like Votary but am using a different moisturiser at the moment. It'll keep!

The scent isn't really me. I have a fellow scent-lover who I'll pass it on to.

Hair stuff I'm very excited about! I loved the oil and bought a full sized one. My hair is very liable to frizz so this might be a saviour!

Masks will always be useful!

I love the little surprise every quarter...

Oh thank you for the warning. I had an awful reaction to a skin care product in the box earlier this year so will avoid.

I love the perfume though. I'm tempted buy it but keen to try the others first

My box hasn't arrived yet but it sounds wonderful to me! Especially given it's free. I'm surprised how many people are complaining. Perhaps becoming a tad spoilt?

It’s ok to not like everything and to say that you don’t. I don’t think that it’s spoilt to say that.

I like that I get to try products and have gone on to purchase quite a few products. I am rubbish at saving my credit as there’s always something that I want/need.

Anyway, We need a new thread! This one is taking forever to load!

FlorencenotRatchet · 16/01/2024 19:34

Was initially disappointed that the perfume was a rose scent as they tend to be too overpowering on me.
Having tried it I am very pleased. It smells gorgeous and I can't stop sniffing myself.

TreesinthePark · 16/01/2024 05:52

1.5ml perfume of their own brand is quite stingy and disappointing. 1ml sachet of face cream is just a waste of packaging.

I like the look of the hair pomade which is why I bought the full size on sale from N-a-P just a couple of weeks ago!

MZ Skin is like Barbara Sturm, it ridiculously expensive and only exists in the world of beauty boxes and advents. I don't see it as a 'real' brand if that makes sense.

I'll use the Dermalogica when traveling, Thier products aren't exciting but always work for me.

Not my favourite box but I still love the concept and want enough credit ready for a good kit or GWP.

As an aside, I bought the Skincare Essentials Edit from Cult Beauty. It arrived yesterday and I would recommend.

Thanks for the heads up. The Cult Beauty kit has been purchased.
