Annoyingly I do really like these LBTY fragrances. The full size bottles are just too expensive (and too big!) for me. This one is a bit too sweet for me initially, but I liked the dry down. Had to check the notes to see what it was - it’s the patchouli. I really like patchouli in a blend. I like Tudor slightly better though.

I also think we’re going to see the other scents in future boxes.

Carefully squeezed out every drop of the Votary cream from the sachet and it was more than enough for face and neck. Face actually does feel amazing. It’s even taken out a couple of dry flakey patches I had going on. £75 a jar though? Ouch.

Even though there were four hand cream fragrances on offer, I got sent the same one I had last time 😄

Peridot1 · 16/01/2024 12:59

Nice surprise delivery just now. No dispatch email so wasn’t expecting it.

Im happy enough with it.

Will use the cleanser when travelling. Am actually short of travel size cleansers. And Dermalogica is a nice brand.

I have used the Super Seed cream before and quite liked it. I’ll take this sachet on a long haul flight next month.

Not sure about the pomade but will try it.

Quite like the perfume. Wouldn’t buy full size though.

Agree about MZ and 111 Skin products and their supposed value. But I will give the eye mask a go.

BIossomtoes · 16/01/2024 12:59

The hand cream joins the unopened tube Liberty has already given me at some point - I think it was in the 22 AC. The cleanser’s a winner and I’m willing to give the fragrance a try, I’d already sprayed Tudor this morning when the box arrived.

Has anyone used the hair pomade? I’m always a bit nervous about these products in case I end up with an oil slick on my head.

PurpleWhirple · 16/01/2024 13:12

I love hand cream, do people just not use it?? My hands are literally the only part of me that gets dry

My hands are in desperate need of hand cream all the time, but I so rarely use any because there’s never a good time to have greasy hands 😄 I really should use it much more often.

hettiethehare · 16/01/2024 13:25

Mine arrived today - I'm happy enough with it.

Gnomegnomegnome · 16/01/2024 13:26

@BIossomtoes the pomade is great, I tried it straight away. Warm a little bit in your hands and smooth it over your hair for flyaways. It smells good.

@PurpleWhirple I use a lot of hand cream but can’t keep up!

goteam · 16/01/2024 13:30

Just got my first beauty drop. Ripped the box as I didn't realise it was reversible - oops! A bit disappointed as looking at previous boxes I had high hopes. I don't really use hair stuff, had a few cleansers in ACs and was really hoping for a decent sample size moisturiser for an upcoming holiday. Hand cream is a handy size for my hand bag though. It's all free I guess!

spuddel · 16/01/2024 13:37

My box arrived without email too. Like the cleanser and will use it travelling, also the pomade. Really, really don't like the perfume at all. Reminds me of that Rabanne aftershave every young lad seems to wear these days. Not a favourite box by any means but I will use the hand cream up fast as my hands are never out of water and constantly dry. Would love to see a bit of make up of some description in the boxes.

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/01/2024 13:42

My box hasn't arrived yet but it sounds wonderful to me! Especially given it's free. I'm surprised how many people are complaining. Perhaps becoming a tad spoilt?

ObliviousCoalmine · 16/01/2024 13:53

Another76543 · 16/01/2024 11:08

I think this box is quite good. I’ve been pleased with most of the boxes really. This one has 6 items. Just working out the rough value

cleanser £13
hair cream £8
hand cream £16
eye mask £15 (based on pack of 5)
perfume £3
cream £1-2

Total value around £55. Given that the box is “free” (as you can use the £20 subscription anything at Liberty), I don’t think that’s bad.

I always try to think of it like that too.

It's not like a Glossybox etc where you're paying directly for the products, these are free, and I'm yet to be 'disappointed' by a box. You can't expect the world for nothing.

PonyPatter44 · 16/01/2024 13:57

I freely admit i have become a bit spoiled and princess-y about premium beauty since starting with the beauty drop. I love it 😃 I've discovered Votary, for example - my bank account does NOT approve, but my skin looks better than its ever done before!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/01/2024 13:58

Mine's come too, no email. It's fine, it's for nothing I can pass some on, and handcream can always go in the Refuge make up bags at crimbo. @HundredMilesAnHour I'm with you! It's free, and comes in a lovely box. I have gloves and all sorts stored in previous boxes under my hall table. I might label them with my label maker, to make it easier. I'm quite liking the perfume, though my sense of smell isn't completely back after covid.

dullandgrey · 16/01/2024 14:01

I really loved the last box but I think this one sounds good. Except for the hair cream which I'll be giving away. I think people complained a few boxes back that there wasn't a sample of the new fragrances when they were launched, which they have included this time! Doesn't sound like I'll like this particular one though. Look forward to receiving it anyway.

listsandbudgets · 16/01/2024 14:14

Just found it in the porch.

Glad it's a small sample of perfume as I've got so much already but looking forward to trying it Grin

I will try the hair cream tomorrow morning - it smells gorgeous. It's something I've never used before altfhough I do use hair oil.

Love the cleanser already use one from this range and this is perfect travel size

The same Votrary sample was in last years January box and I've still got it!! Should be enough for one full use together

Got tons of hand cream but I do use the so will get to this one in time.

Not the best box but it's not awful

D20 · 16/01/2024 14:18

Mine just arrived too.

~Although I do like the rose perfume I have Miller & Harris and various Jo Malone rose fragrances.
~Pleased about the cleanser. Just opened the Ren before Christmas and that’s a firm favourite.
~Almost through the same handcream from last time so it will be used.
~ I have the CM shampoo at the minute so will use the pomade but not something I would have bought. Still got loads of the hair oil left!
~Meh about the tiny sample and eye masks (but I do prefer them to the whole face ones). I hope no one calls me on teams in the next 20 mins 😝

A very good freebie but like I said I’m cancelling and will restart later in the year. I’ve still got products from last years boxes I haven’t had chance to use because I’ve been getting loads of k-beauty to test within short timeframes and ended up mostly spending on gifts for other people.

BCSurvivor · 16/01/2024 14:25

@PonyPatter44 I also discovered Votary through the boxes and love it!
I've been picking up a few on Ebay, love the brightening serum and the night oil - love the face cream too, but can't justify the £75 price tag.

brogueish · 16/01/2024 14:28

Mine just arrived, I like the look of the hair stuff and the hand cream (I got spruce). The perfume instantly took me back 20 years to when I used to wear Stella McCartney. I'm happy to try the Votary cream because I like their other stuff a lot.

All the sheet masks go straight to DH! He loves them. I feel claustrophobic in them...

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 16/01/2024 15:28

I save any small sample sachets like the cream one on this box to pop in with any Vinted parcels I send(occasionally items I don't want from these boxes) ... thanks like to think it's a nice little bonus for my buyers. I often use my lovely boxes for Vinted too once turned flowery way round Grin

ObliviousCoalmine · 16/01/2024 15:34

I keep the sachets for overnight trips, they're quite handy.

wheresmyshoe · 16/01/2024 15:35

My hand cream is bergamot/patchouli, I like both of these scents although this does have an unusual top note of blow up balloons.
I've used the votary sachet and was surprised to find there was enough product for a full face and neck application.

Maybe but they do advertise the yearly contents as worth £300. And then you lock your money in with them when you could often buy the same products cheaper elsewhere.

Even if its free I don't think it's ungrateful or spoilt to comment on a box not being for you. They will be hit or miss for different people and I quite like hearing other people opinions or products they prefer.

TheChosenTwo · 16/01/2024 16:07

CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Mine arrived, no email.
It’s okay, donated the cleanser (tried before and don’t like it) and the perfume sample (sickly heady scent to me and don’t generally like rose anything) to dd who was there when I opened the box.
Looking forward to the charlotte mensah hair cream thing, i bought a full sized hair oil after receiving a sample in one of these boxes.
hand cream is in my work bag to take on Friday.
Votary sachet will be used, it’s neither here or there with a single use product, you can see if it feels nice instantly but there’s no way of discovering if you’ll actually get on with it. Similar for the eye patches, I’ll use them but it’s not something I’d ever buy based on one use.
So overall it’s okay!

BIossomtoes · 16/01/2024 16:11

I only buy products from Liberty that aren’t stocked elsewhere so have no problem with saving my money with them. Essentially I’ve had two “free” advent calendars and a bangle since I signed up so I’m not going to complain about the boxes.

Pinenu · 16/01/2024 16:13

@HundredMilesAnHour I’m surprised too.
