Want an actual waterproof coat with a hood for muggy weather.

Have had to resort to my only truly waterproof coat today but it's too warm for this weather. I'm boiling. Is a cagoule really the only option? Are Uniqlo's jackets really not waterproof? I am trying to avoid using an umbrella as carry enough to work as it is

Being stylish would be great but I don't hold out much hope.

Regatta 3 in 1 long waterproof. Meant to be £200 but you can pick up much, much cheaper.

Anything waterproof is always going to feel a bit sweaty since it’s by definition not breathable. This is why I use umbrellas, but appreciate you are carrying a lot already… however if you are like
me and hate the sweaty feeling, it might be easier to look for different bag solutions so you can carry a brolly?

I have two of these (in different colours). They're fully waterproof and squish into a bag fairly well. They're won't be featured in Vogue any time soon but I've seen a lot worse.

@minipie , I know what you mean but sometimes a brolly just won't stop the hair frizz either.

I’ve got a couple of these. Swedish brand. I’ve also got a lap top bag that I adore that they make but I try not to match the bag to the jacket! Loads of different colours. Totally waterproof. I like the longer length styles for work - smarter (I feel) and covers more of my work clothes because I can have long walks.

The Rains jacket is very light and easy to shove in a handbag. Good hood too. I am
quite obsessed with rainwear (West of Scotland upbringing) and like Didrikson coats and Ilse Jacobsen too - the latter is perfect for autumn but too thick for summer and stiffer material.

I have two lightweight fully waterproof coats. One is a Protected Species one, which I wear if I need to look smart(er). Otherwise it’s a long orange (“cayenne”) one from Barbour. Packable waterproof jacket
I have bought this one following recommendations on another thread, waiting for it to arrive still but it does have good reviews for being waterproof yet lightweight so hopefully it won't be too hot to wear

Second this. ££££ though. And I flipping ripped a hole in mine the first time I wore it (it got caught on a door handle as I was trying to 'escort' a tantruming DS out of a party 😡)
