@Sooverthemill Lovely yoke shaping!

faustina · 16/08/2023 12:03

@Saurus72 - that is a wonderful fit and I love the intricate design of yours too@Sooverthemill

Navygrey is on my list for a next jumper purchase - I have to move a couple out before that though

@dudsville they still have the space linen check trousers in stock now but they are full price?

im still holding out for a space linen check shirt, the search continues!

It's a bit weird - 4 of the things I bought in the sale are back at normal prices: Space check linen trousers, space check linen shorts, panelled linen trousers in black coffee and the blue Lydia jersey jumpsuit.

The sweater that is shown with the crinkled skirt on one of the model pictures looks so fab! It is not on the website by itself yet, but I hope to see it there soon

@Sooverthemill That is so impressive - I think knitting is a Dark Art, have no clue how you would achieve that!

It takes concentration to start with but honestly if I can do it …

Dee1224 · 16/08/2023 12:59

@Sooverthemill - lovely work - you are so talented!
@Saurus72 - that jumper really suits you.

Great work @Sooverthemill .
I tried knitting when I was expecting my first baby a million years ago. It wasn’t worth the tension it gave me in my shoulders and I never moved past a holey grubby bit of work rather like the ‘scarf’ we had to knit in P5, that depressed me. Definitely not one of my skills.

Saurus72 · 16/08/2023 13:13

Ha! I can remember trying to learn when I was little - my mum started me on squares but they ended up as misshapen triangles because the tension was all shades of wrong! I do like tapestry/cross stitch though which reminds me - I started a Fine Cell Work one a while ago, I should start again maybe in the autumn.

I wasn't a Toast fan straight away and would go into a shop with a friend and patiently wait while she tried things on (while muttering under my breath about the prices).

What changed was actually trying things on and realising how lovely the material and cut was. And then, once I own some pieces, just how lovely it is to wear.

@Saurus72 Great jumper ! Loving the charcoal colour. I discovered navy grey a year ago and have invested in the relaxed in Lait, the funnel neck in Navy Marl and an heirloom cardigan in drift. The quality/customer service is brilliant. Happy to splurge more £ on items I hope will last me for years - I really resent paying premium prices for poor quality high street knitwear.

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 13:18

Sorry @Stoic123 not sure how/why I managed to link your comment here!

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 13:20

@Sooverthemillyou are going to generate a few commissions if you are not careful !

Saurus72 · 16/08/2023 13:53

@Noodle421 Same, good to hear your experience is positive. My great fear is shrinking it in the wash - so I’m thinking a short 20 degree wash is the way forward. I’ve got form for shrinking merino/cashmere so I need to be uber careful 😬

I haven’t washed them yet. NG recommend instead leaving them to air and spot wash etc which goes against the excellent moth advice given here. I’m going to have to compromise and wash more often I think and will do so by hand. I don’t trust putting them in the machine. I’ve had too many mishaps.

PretLea · 16/08/2023 14:09

@Noodle421 there is a Hal in 12 on Vinted!

Thank you ! I’ve checked it out and it’s almost like a Hal but the collar is different and it’s the collar I like so much on the Hal. Thank you for thinking of me

I think my unexpected best buy of the year (ahem -so far!) has been the suki panelled denim trousers. They’ve been a bit of a slow burn for me as I really wasn’t sure about them at first, but every time I wash them, they just get better. To the extent I’m almost tempted to buy a second pair but I’m really trying to stop doing duplicates and just trust that when something finally falls apart (hopefully not for years) there will be something else equally nice on offer.

I’m debating whether to get these. Please can you tell about the sizing and also whether they hold their shape well (they are quite soft I think) - I’m not keen on a baggy bum look - I don’t need any more help in that region.

I do realise it makes me look like I’m on Vinted all the time (but I’m really not!). Sorry it wasn’t quite right after all, I’ll stop now 🙂

Countmeout · 16/08/2023 14:44

Maybe I’ve missed what size you’re looking for but there’s a Hal in a 10 on eBay @Noodle421

Countmeout · 16/08/2023 14:45

In fact there’s 2

Thank you - I’d spotted them - they are £95 and £145. £95 is still quite a lot of £ and I think it may be a little on the small side to fit jumpers underneath, but thanks for checking

No not at all. I keep missing wonderful bargains because I’m not checking often enough .

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 14:55

I’ve been meaning to thank the person who tipped me off about the Franca dress I bought from Vinted (new and £30 !!) I really love it - it’s a great fit and a classic understated dress.I will have great pleasure layering it up in autumn. I’m sorry I can’t remember you name !

I’m wearing an S and I’m veering between 10 and 12 on the high street. The fabric is soft, but it’s substantial. They are quite slouchy though - I’d say the model pic is pretty accurate after they settle down with a few washes.

@Noodle421 they are quite roomy, I have the mediums and they are plenty roomy for a 14 and a big dinner!! I’ve been living in them since I got them and I also got a spare pair off Vinted!

I’m going to have to spend more time on Vinted
