An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

Badly lit photo of today's old toast dress - got recently on eBay due to inspiration from this thread I think maybe @ilovecherries has it? Buttons at waist needed layering so that the wrap did not gape. It's beautiful poplin grey blue with great pockets. We are in a very wet Munich

Really suits you!

That’s a lovely dress @Brillenbar47 . I hope the weather clears up, if it’s any consolation, probably not, there’s been huge heavy showers all night here and is continuing in much the same way this morning.

Looks great on you, it’s a lovely dress, isn’t it.

Back home, lost count of how many hotel rooms I’ve slept in for the last fortnight. Wearing the Andy Pandy trousers and the denim ‘jerkin’ with a hush tee. When you resolve to wear a different outfit every day it makes you (me!) realise how much I have!

I don’t suppose anyone bought these socks in the sale (they also came in navy/ecru) and still has the packaging? I should have written down the brand name so I could find more , I love them. I asked Toast on the chat and they said they were Toast’s own but I am certain the cardboard sleeve thing they came in had a brand name on it.

I have the navy but also ditched the packaging. I’m sure you are correct though, they were third party items. I also love mine.

Here's the new Navy version of The Trousers..
The fabric is lighter weight than I thought it would be and not so crisp as the ecru ones.. So wondering if they will crease badly and if they would be too lightweight for the autumn.. Also the waist is much smaller on these (M) they do fit but are tight-ish and I will move the button if I keep them ( which I haven't decided yet) . Come up slightly shorter than the ecru ones on me ( 5'6" , just) .. and v wide leg - sae as the ecru - as I have tried to show

.if I sized up then they would be too big everywhere else .. Id say that they are a 12. But sadly my tum is not quite ! They hang well though.. ..
Difficult to photograph as they are very dark navy.
I will try them on with other things when I get the bedroom back to rights after finishing decorating and then decide.. its more about whether they are just another indigo trouser when I have some anyway..

Outfit of the day , it’s one of those lined cotton dresses from 2 yrs ago . Lovely and wafty on a hot market day !

I saw one for sale on the Facebook page but the angle of the photo made it look shorter.

Amazing sleuthing @clowniform , thank you! Yes, I pushed her on it and said there was definitely a name on the label and she insisted not. 🙄

Countmeout · 05/08/2023 12:10

Lovely @OftenOrange and very envious of your weather. I avoided that dress when it came out but loved the colours. I always thought it was shorter, what height are you?

Wearing the smaller pair of Alix indigo trousers from the last sale and my Sadie shirt which I have ripped with a blooming pin. I’ll take it to be mended when I am near a shop at Christmas.

I love that dress. I sold mine as it was too big but I’m hopefully waiting for a 12 to appear on the FB page. They did a couple of different designs in earlier years in that style, wish they resurrect it.

Really like them @Laska2Meryls
Strange about them being tighter!

faustina · 05/08/2023 12:38

So nice to see all the amazing outfits - currently wearing a very crumpled pair of linen cotton breen trousers looking at the rain pouring down outside. However, a very exciting parcel has just been delivered (navy linen dress) so I'm off to try it on

Noeggsontoast · 05/08/2023 12:39

@Brillenbar47 @OftenOrange @ilovecherries all lovely outfits again.

@Laska2Meryls those trousers look great. I know what you mean about another navy pair - I wont buy trousers in the same colour as any I already own irrespective of their seasonality or style as it feels like duplication in my wardrobe. My only duplicate is two pairs of Ashley jeans in indigo, because I can't be without a pair.

Today it's torrential rain and just 14 degrees so wearing a boring outfit but one that feels like a lovely cloud-soft hug, only half Toast - my Ashley jeans and socks with my softest cashmere sweater of all my cashmere sweaters which is non-Toast. Whenever I wear it I instantly feel relaxed and cosy.

faustina · 05/08/2023 13:00

@Noeggsontoast - cashmere is an absolute MUST on a day like this. I have a men's navy cardigan around my shoulders

Dee1224 · 05/08/2023 13:13

Lovely dress @OftenOrange !

I am wearing my mustard striped long sleeved tee from SM with my trusty linen trousers today as it is pouring down with rain and quite chilly here.

I am off to the SM shop in two weeks en route to Cornwall and am looking forward to it.

BTW: Did anyone else see that sale stock had appeared as available in the Toast wishlist yesterday, only to disappear at checkout?

MsDastardley · 05/08/2023 13:24

I received the Dotty Print Crepe dress in green today. I ordered 14 as 34G bust and often have issues with gaping. I’m size 12 bottoms. The dress was really big all over. The fabric is lovely, a nice weight crepe, but I would probably wear in warmer weather with sandals. I really like the print, there’s a subtle hint of gold. Also liked the front pleat detail. I think it’s very expensive for what it is, but have ordered the smaller size as green is my colour and I did like it a lot!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/08/2023 13:58

@Dee1224 I posted about all the random stuff that appeared in my wish list the other day. It’s all still there with some things being added that I had forgotten about Confused .

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/08/2023 14:02

Those trousers do look nice @Laska2Meryls , but I understand what you mean about another pair of indigo trousers. Annoying about the waist though, I think that would be my issue as well.

Loving the dress @OftenOrange , envious of the sunshine too, wet and chilly here.

Dee1224 · 05/08/2023 14:35

Ah yes, I remember now @Theteapotsbrokenspout ! I am tempted to call and ask if I can buy any of it, but I shouldn’t really! I expect most of it will reappear in a future sale and I am supposed to be decluttering😹

clowniform · 05/08/2023 15:05

Enjoying similar weather to @Noeggsontoast here, so I've succumbed to a merino underlayer (Uniqlo U) with a Toast corduroy shirtdress today. This was a John Lewis bargain, so I can't remember if it originally came with a belt (anyone else know?) but prefer it without, especially for the knit&kuchen afternoon with a pal.

clowniform · 05/08/2023 15:12

@ScottishMouse are sales people just not allowed to say, 'Sorry, I've tried to find out but I'm afraid I don't know'? Infinitely preferably to being stonewalled over something small that should be a pure pleasure like fancy pink&gold socks!
Thank you @Laska2Meryls really useful info about the indigo Trousers, you're tempting me into giving these a go as the changes would resolve some of my issues with the ecru pair on me.
Lovely outfits shared again today 😍This thread really is inspiring me to wear more Toast, including older pieces.
