An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

@Countmeout I’m 5’5’’ , the dress is long and the bodice is quite loose.
I’m bringing the sun to London next week 🌻

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2023 15:47

It was worse than that @clowniform. She said she had looked into it and they had definitely been designed in house by a Toast designer so there would not have been a different name on the label!

dudsville · 05/08/2023 15:56

GASP! I just discovered the "unhide" button on the thread!!! There's too much to catch up on but I've loved the outfits, the chat about man made fabrics, etc.

Stoic123 · 05/08/2023 15:58

@clowniform - love the dress-shoes combo

OftenOrange · 05/08/2023 16:39

@clowniform The dress is a beautiful colour , I wish Toast would reintroduce burgundy , it tones so well with mustards and browns they are known for.

mizu · 05/08/2023 17:17

@OftenOrange and @clowniform gorgeous dresses both!

Countmeout · 05/08/2023 18:57

Thanks @OftenOrange . If you could manage to get the sun to stretch northwards I’d be very grateful.

dudsville · 06/08/2023 08:36

@Laska2Meryls, cute outfit on you upthread where you're trying the indigo trousers, is your striped jumper toast?

Noeggsontoast · 06/08/2023 09:31

@clowniform love that dress and shoes! Fab combo. I've had some great purchases in the day from John Lewis.

@Dee1224 all of my previous wishlist items appeared too when I went to buy the skirt the other day. I didn't try and purchase them though. It was very odd as some of the items were from an age ago.

No Toast for me today, outdoor gear only as we're going on a big walk, I expect a good bit of mud.

Saurus72 · 06/08/2023 10:45

I’m off to London to meet friends for lunch today - bit of shopping first. Wearing the navy loop dress for the first time which is a pretty good weight for this coolish weather.

I love that dress on you @Saurus72 . Any toast shopping?

ilovecherries · 06/08/2023 11:00

Looking great, Saurus. Have a lovely day. I was amazed last week at the amount of Toast I saw in Granary Square at Kings Cross. You never see it here.

I quite often see Toast in town, some v chic older women which is really inspiring. I may pop to the Mayfair branch to try the batik dress…Definitely won’t be buying today but I’m getting a bonus from work soon and planning to spend half and save half. Just not sure if I can spend that much on a dress, will need to be a showstopper.

ilovecherries · 06/08/2023 11:53

I’m dressed for comfort today. Toast space check linen trousers (which I probably need to get taken up as now sitting quite low on the hip) and a fine knit merino from Hush which is ancient but I love.

Are they the space check that were in the sale or the new ones @ilovecherries ?
I sent my sale ones back as there seemed to be far too much fabric in the legs for my waist size, especially compared to the fenugreek balloon trousers. I did wonder if they would soften up in the wash but decided not to take the risk.

They are actually from last year so they are well washed now. I’m not sure if they are actually called space check tbh, now I think about it. Pull on linen. I have the same style in black with a sort of gold stripe from maybe 2021 but they seem much bigger again (both medium)

I succumbed to the lovely V neck black Lydia style dress. Popped on the M in store today and did not want to take it off.

Rarely but new TOAST and I've bought two dresses in as many months!!

mizu · 06/08/2023 14:52

Rarely buy!!

Brillenbar47 · 06/08/2023 15:09

@mizu I can see why - you look like an elegant Greek goddess!

faustina · 06/08/2023 16:07

@mizu - you absolutely do! How beautiful! You'll have to engineer your entire social life around doing things backwards from now on - awkward, but worth it!

@ilovecherries - the dark top makes those trousers looks really elegant

@Saurus72 - Love that dress too - enjoy London

I see quite a lot of Toast round here, especially in my local Waitrose which I guess is par for the course.

Saurus72 · 06/08/2023 17:07

@mizu Agree with the consensus, you look fab!

I feel quite relieved- I tried the batik dress and didn’t love it. It felt too ‘costumey’ so that’s off my wish list. The olive cashmere/wool wrap however is firmly on my list - absolutely beautiful!

@Saurus72 oh I took a picture of that dress as it looked gorgeous on the hanger.

Also another dress that was a new 10 but did not look very big. And this lovely knitted vest. Quite a lot of lovely things in.

Heard the assistant say there was a lot of new things coming in from September.......

V excited for September then - I think the batik dress is too big on the sleeves for me, felt a bit Henry 8th - it doesn’t look it in the photo so maybe it’s just me, I’m not massively into dramatic sleeves.

Saurus72 · 06/08/2023 17:18

Oh, should also add I tried size 14 which is my IRL size, when I would usually have size 12 at Toast, so that is definitely a change to the sizing for that dress.

Noeggsontoast · 06/08/2023 17:37

Back from a very blustery and muddy hike - certainly blew away the cobwebs.

@mizu that dress is stunning on you.

@ilovecherries @Saurus72 great outfits.

Interesting re your feedback on the batik dress. I have the batik skirt arriving tomorrow. It looks a definite pink in the photos, whereas it looked a bit more peachy on the website.

Good to hear there's potentially more good things to come in September.
