An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

@Stoic123 So comfy! Though based on the couple of times I’ve worn mine, the bum gets stretched out a LOT after just one wear (like my black linen trousers from Toast too). So mine will be washed after each wear I think, not ironed though, they don’t need it. I can handle that.

AFingerofFudge · 01/08/2023 17:56

So I called into Toast today and returned "the" trousers and commented that I would be buying them in indigo when the new drop comes out. The staff remained very non committal and tight lipped about what may or may not be in the new collection!

I was wearing my black crinkle dress which is old season but popped up in the recent sale.

Noeggsontoast · 01/08/2023 18:32

Loving all the Toast outfits everyone is sharing! I'm wearing Annie jeans in ecru and the khaki knitted linen collared top from last year's collection today.

@sonjadog Hi, I have ordered the culottes but I don't have them yet, they're being delivered tomorrow and will report back. The reviews for them are good though and I am excited for tomorrow's delivery.

Trinitybean · 01/08/2023 18:49

@Dee1224 no refunds yet, tomorrow is ten working days so time up. Welcome to Kindred.

ilovecherries · 01/08/2023 18:53

I got my refunds from PayPal today. Have been on hold since last Tuesday. Annoying as I had to pay my cc bill yesterday as I always clear it every month, and had about £400 of money that should have been refunded, but hadn’t been. So now my cc is in credit by £409. Otoh - does that count as free money now?

Thanks @Trinitybean - I was strangely pleased this morning, (even though I have only just bought my Toast pass🤣).

Hope your refund comes soon.

I'm head to toe in Toast today too! Cotton linen tapered trousers in Breen from the recent sale (although these have shrunk slightly in length which is so disappointing), with the craft check top and novestas in ecru.

Any thoughts on the round collar pique shirt? I missed last year's (and can't seem to ever find one on ebay/vinted) but the collar on this year's version seems a bit odd in the product photos - it seems to stand up very high at the back. Has anyone tried/bought it?

I think that is the pique shirt I bought is it this @FiddleFigs ?

i am not sure what I think of it, it’s such a useful piece but not very exciting. It does go with a fair amount of things I have. The only problem is the button placement if you have a bust, but I intend to wear as a jacket so that doesn’t matter so much.
I think the weight is better than the short sleeve one from the summer which I returned because I didn’t honk I’d get the wear out of the short one. I wish it had a pocket or two where’re you’d want a pocket or two and not up at the bust. Sounds as though I don’t like it but I do as is such a useful thing especially with the current weather.

Countmeout · 01/08/2023 19:03

Sorry never mentioned the collar. I didn’t notice it particularly high. Must check again.

Sounds as if everyone is doing well in wearing their toast, and I'm looking forward to seeing all the cotton canvas trouser photos.

I bought the current season Lydia v neck dress from vinted at the weekend. It's not a dress I would normally even try and I was worried about the sizing as well, but I was feeling fed up and wanted a Toast boost. And it's absolutely lovely, I'm so pleased! It's a medium and fits perfectly.

Oooh, I like the dress and with the Breton too. It’s an elegant shape. Does anyone know how the Lydia V washes? Does it hold its colour well?

Hello all. Can I join?
ive just been given Kindred membership - does anyone know what the criteria this would have been? Presumably spending a ridiculous percentage of my salary at toast

I’m currently mulling over whether to buy the cashmere wrappy scarf in Olive as I bought it in charcoal last year and wore it most days …

@Noeggsontoast Great! Please do let me know what you think, and also if you think the sixing is generous or not. I am not 100% sure the fixed waist is going to work for me. :-)

Yes - spending shed loads seems to be the criteria. Welcome to the thread.

I've just bought the wrap scarf in Celtic Blue. Love the quality. Was also considering the Olive but wondering how true colour is to online pictures. If you get it, please would you report back?

Stoic123 · 01/08/2023 20:35

@Jumperhermit - meant to add - the scarf colour in the stand alone photos look different from the one with the model.

Thank you!
Of course - it’s a lovely quality, isn’t it? I love the size - it makes a good mini impromptu blanket too!
I’m curious about the olive colour too - in one of the photos it looks mossy green and in the other on the model it looks more golden brown green.

Jumperhermit · 01/08/2023 20:37

Cross-posted there!

Snowyowl78 · 01/08/2023 20:40

@Noodle421 mines looking pretty ‘washed’ but it does say it’s ‘washed black’. I might redye it. I would recommend washing it really cold and as sparingly as possible.

FiddleFigs · 01/08/2023 21:38

@Stoic123 @Jumperhermit I saw the olive scarf in the Cambridge shop on Sunday and can confirm that it is very lovely. I’d say the product photo is accurate- it’s a lovely mossy green. I had to tear myself away from it

FiddleFigs · 01/08/2023 21:42

@Countmeout yes that’s the one. It does look like a very useful layer - maybe I should just give it a go. I’ve not much bust, so gaping probably won’t be an issue. What’s the sizing like generally please?

Ooh thanks. I like both versions- the model version maybe would fit into my wardrobe slightly better. It's on my wish list but I'm going to hold back until I see what's in the main AW collection and then decide.

Ahh thank you! I think I’ll order it tomorrow. Currently nervously waiting to see how my pure white Novesta trainers from Toast come out of the washing machine after DD dropped pink paint on them …

Countmeout · 02/08/2023 05:23

@FiddleFigs I think it’s smallish compared with a lot of Toast sizing. But maybe not so much if the bust sizing is not an issue.

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like my black Ashley jeans. I try to wash them as little as possible. They become dog walking trousers when they start to turn grey.
