An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

My only Toast today is the Cumin swingy linen shirt from last year, wearing with dark khaki moleskin 3/4 trousers from Hush ( several years old but when Hush was really good quality, so still looking like new) and rose gold saltwaters..
Hygienist visit.. then back home and changing old painty clothes for decorating!

@sonjadog the culottes are gorgeous and the pleats very flat and flattering. The fixed waist is generous in comparison to other fixed waist skirts that I've had from Toast. They're extremely comfortable and I can definitely get all year round wear out of these, so practical. The colour is a delight, such a happy colour and so different.

I also purchased the cardigan they'd styled it with - the neat navy melange but the blue is much brighter than navy and I didn't like them together. I like them styled with my favourite Toast boiled wool dark dark navy cardigan which is lovely and cropped and boxy but neat, so the cardigan is being returned.

I bought the bandana too that was styled with the cardigan and culottes and the jury is out on that one. I'm mulling it over and will review my scarf collection. Just don't have time to do that this morning.

Thank you!
Of course - it’s a lovely quality, isn’t it? I love the size - it makes a good mini impromptu blanket too!
I’m curious about the olive colour too - in one of the photos it looks mossy green and in the other on the model it looks more golden brown green.

How do you wear it ? It looks gorgeous but very big. Is it easy to drape? I’m not sure what I’d do with the large quantity of fabric - is it best worn as a wrap rather than draped around the neck ?

sonjadog · 02/08/2023 10:28

@Noeggsontoast Thank you so much for the information! I think I will order them up.

My only Toast item today is the indigo Alix with a white stuff long sleeve top. Still awful weather.

My cashmere scarf (scarves) is one of my favourite pieces. I think they work as a very cosy drapey scarf in winter but serve as blankets, wraps everything at all times of the year @Noodle421 .

Noodle421 · 02/08/2023 11:02

@Countmeout thank you. It sounds cosy and useful.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/08/2023 11:04

Today I am wearing no Toast! Well actually my birkenstock are from Toast as are my cotton cashmere stripe socks. I have on my sahara black linen/cotton culottes, hush black scoop neck tee and a hush fine linen boyfriend jumper over the top and a john lewis chunky mishapen loop necklace [reminded me of a gorgeous one from Toast jewellery but was far too expensive so got cheap junk!] but it is a lovely necklace never-the-less. I am not doing much. Waiting eagerly for the Maeve dress to come through. Should be anytime soon. Post has been later these days. Its dull but not raining. Ive a parcel to post as a sold a seasalt dress that was too big for me.

ilovecherries · 02/08/2023 11:11

Wearing the wrap jumpsuit today. I’ve lost a wee bit weight since I bought it though and slightly worried it may start to veer into ‘too oversized to be comfy’ soon.

That’s a shame @ilovecherries does the wrap not account for changes in size? I think you’d get a good resale price for it, and I think it’ll go into the Sept sale. That said there are only very small sizes left!

im tempted by that blue cashmere wrap scarf now!! I can’t justify it though as I already have a rust coloured one and 2 other toast scarfs!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/08/2023 11:22

It looks fine on you from the picture. However you could sell it and use the money to buy a smaller size? or wait until the sale and keep the money by.

ScottishMouse · 02/08/2023 11:47

It is miserable weather here today, so I have forgone a dress for the culottes I bought on eBay last week. With a black jigsaw tee and the cashmere wool boxy cardigan I got in the winter sale. And a scarf! Plus the camper sandals for indoors.

ScottishMouse · 02/08/2023 11:49

That navy boiled wool cardi is one of my favourite Toast pieces @Noeggsontoast. I had not even looked at those culottes, but the thought of them with that cardi is now making me look at them 🙄 Toast fixed waists never ever work on me though, no matter how generous they are, so I can put them out of my mind again.

Countmeout · 02/08/2023 12:09

I think those are the culottes I have @ScottishMouse so comfortable. I have the dress in the same fabric also very comfortable.

You can ever have too many Toast cashmere scarves @Snowyowl78 !

Snowyowl78 · 02/08/2023 12:14

@Countmeout eek! Do they ever go in the sale? My orange one was only £40 from vinted!

Noodle421 · 02/08/2023 12:29

Lovely outfits @ilovecherries and @ScottishMouse

the wrap jumpsuit looks very flattering from the photo. Not sure it looks too big ? Does your weight fluctuate, if so may be worth hanging on to it.

@ScottishMouse your sandals are spot on with your outfit and they will go with everything. Great choice. Glad you were able to settle on a pair. It’s so important to get it right otherwise garments/shoes do not get used. I’m loving the culottes too. I’d love a pair and will keep an eye out on eBay. I have a Toast top in very similar fabric/colour and I love it. I’ve always regretted not buying the trousers. So cosy.

Noeggsontoast · 02/08/2023 12:35

@ScottishMouse sorry for making you look! That cardy is indestructible! It always looks so smart and works with everything. It's been so well worn and I don't know what I'll do if it ever wears out.

Countmeout · 02/08/2023 12:37

Not often @Snowyowl78 I think. I got the pear one in the winter sale for £90 but I had never seen them in it before. I bought my first one (a pumpkin colour) -think they were £10/15 cheaper then, and the second one (navy)was a Christmas present. I absolutely love them.

Snowyowl78 · 02/08/2023 12:50

@Countmeout they are lovely, I do like a bright blue!

ScottishMouse · 02/08/2023 12:51

Ah thanks @Noodle421. I’m still not sure about them with some dresses, but they are comfy and practical and I can always keep an eye out for something else to complement those dresses. Besides, with this weather, I won’t need any sandals at all!
Agree @Noeggsontoast, I hope it will never wear out.

ilovecherries · 02/08/2023 12:56

I don’t really want to get rid of the jumpsuit (although I don’t actually want to put the weight back on either!). The shoulder seams are no longer in the right place which is something for me that draws the line between intentionally oversized and just too big. Plus the hips and bum are very ‘wafty’ although that’s less bothersome. I went back and forward between the 10 and 12 at the time I bought it and went for the 12 but I do wonder now if the 10 would have been better. I see how it goes over the winter as I’ll want more. Dee watch it then.

Maeve dress Is here. Lot thinner than I expected but the print is gorgeous. I could have sized down on the bust ( right between 2 sizes here) There is a little dpace under the arm but not that much to return for a 12.

Noodle421 · 02/08/2023 13:09

@ilovecherries have you actually worn the jumpsuit outside? Perhaps Toast will consider swapping them for a size 10 if they decide to re stock and you’ve only tried your current pair on in the house.

Your trainers will go with many dresses too ( as someone who likes trainers with everything).

I’ve found hem to be really accommodating about that in the past but I was the indigo stuff about three times once I decide to keep it as I can’t stand the dye getting everywhere - so it’s well washed! I did actually wear it a few times at the beginning of summer as well, as it was an early purchase I couldn’t resist. I’ll see how it goes and maybe the Terrifying Tailor will be able to do something with it if it feels a problem come autumn.
