@ilovecherries This is fun: I have the shirt and skirt in the brown/blue/white pattern, and the other dress in your picture. Could not fit into skirt and dress when I bought them, but I think I can now. Thanks for reminding me ;)

I have the dress in a blue and white check as well - Anni I think it was called. All bought in that crazy JL sale. Again, never worn because of the neck, but she made such an amazing job with the brown one, I left the Anni with her yesterday for the same treatment. I’ve nearly sold both several times over the last few years but there was something about them that always made me hang onto them.

I'm jumping onto the wardrobe photo sharing. I'm not as toast heavy but do have a lot of clothes so 2 wardrobes 😳

@ilovecherries sorry about what happened yesterday. It is a strange response as surely it does not matter if the work is coming from one person as I would imagine 10 items from one person would take the same amount of time and money as 2 items from 5 people!

@AmethystMoonShine sorry for your loss.

@Whitesandblueskies welcome! Re sizing I am a bit odd as I just always take the same Toast size and it seems to work (I suspect I have been growing as their sizing gets larger 😅)

So I have ordered what I believe will be my last Toast sale purchases - the blue Maya dress and the mariner hemp trousers

Mariner Hemp Cotton Trousers | Dark Chambray Blue

Mariner Hemp Cotton Trousers | Dark Chambray Blue

Our Mariner Hemp Cotton Trousers are crafted from hemp and organic cotton blend canvas. They have reverse-facing pleats and a back patch pocket.

Thank you for all your kind words. It's funny how this group provides a little haven from real life - so thank you all Smile

I keep looking at the mariner trousers but I have so little success with Toast trousers I'm not sure whether to bother. The crotch is always by my knees or there's excess fabric around my tummy, or the waist is too tight, or they're too short! Beginning to think I'm a strange shape Grin

Laska2Meryls · 22/06/2023 10:22

Checking into new thread.. No Toast news.. 😇( no doubt temporary)

ilovecherries · 22/06/2023 10:49

I’m very tempted by the mariner trousers, they are a beautiful shape. Only two hints put me off - the endless colour rub and the fact that I can have trouble with Toast fixed waists

Things, not hints

Thanks for the new thread @ilovecherries . Your tailor’s response to you providing her with lots of business was strange to say the least: business is business and in that position I would be viewing you as a valued customer. Perhaps there is something lost in culture or in translation or perhaps you caught her on a bad day…

@AmethystMoonShine , sending condolences. My DM is end of life so I know I have a challenging time ahead.

Welcome @Whitesandblueskies and anyone else that is new. You do know that these threads will make you spend more money but will also bring you much joy and pleasure as we all pontificate and celebrate Toast purchases?

I am having a sort out and I am aghast at how many clothes I have 😔, I completely need to move towards a much more streamlined wardrobe and make buying more mindful. I have found two Toast skirts that are at least two years old and I haven’t even worn them yet: an ecru denim a-line skirt with pockets and a gently pleated beige skirt with a waist tie. I also found my Toast ecru denim wide legged jeans which I am going to make an effort to wear more of. The good news is that I am in the right place weight wise for me and (hopefully not too outing but I only ever post under this username for Toast threads) I have just had a boob reduction and so the skirt/slim sweater or tee shirt will be more of a look for me going forward.

I have the mariner trousers in both the denim and the hemp: I really need to make a decision about whether I keep both of them. They are definitely neat in the waist and much fuller below. I sized down from a 12 to a 10 in the hemp ones but I can’t afford to put on any weight if I keep them and I now have the 10 and 12s in the denim to make a decision on.

I will be posting some sales posts on our Facebook page: way too many lovely clothes and some of them need to find a home where they are worn and appreciated. @Stravaig , I need to get you round to help me to let go and to stop buying going forward!

Nipping on quickly with a blouse wardrobe. Everything else is all over the place

@ilovecherries - I would feel exactly as you did with the nasty experience at the tailor - she needs to up her customer skills, although I have also been told by Ukranians that they can seem very blunt to us (and that we sound like we never get to the point to them) - horrible for you though

@AmethystMoonShine - I'm so sorry for your loss. This thread is a wonderful oasis of calm and escape from everything

Two out of my three returns have now been refunded, and I have a basket with one tee, one dress and one coat in it, but I'm not 100% sure about them yet

Stoic123 · 22/06/2023 11:44

@Countmeout - lovely blouse collection 😀

I also had a breast reduction just over 4 years ago. Hope you are happy with them and wishing you a good recovery. Mine went from a 32K to a 32G - I was quite disappointed if I’m honest as that was MUCH bigger than my surgeon indicated was possible but nevertheless they are much more manageable now - hoisting them into the right position made a big difference!

And if by any chance you re selling a tala in a 12 in either colour, can I just say “me, me,me!” 😀

OP posts:
ToastCosILoveIt · 22/06/2023 12:35

@ilovecherries , I was a 32H and asked to go to a 32DD. I'm four weeks post op and I'd say they're gong to settle at around about that although of course the surgeon couldn't guarantee an exact size. They're definitely much smaller and the toast jumpsuits and closer fitting dresses that were tight on the bust are now feeling more roomy. I'm also wearing teeshirts and bought three of the Toast vest tops which I would never have done previously.

I'm sorry you didn't get what you want with your surgery: it's a big thing to go through to come out feeling that things still aren't where you'd like them to be.

I have the Olin dress and the blue version: absolutely love them. I have the blue one in a 29 and a 12 and will be listing the 12 on the Facebook page for sake sling with some other pieces.

Ha, I have the Tala in the green and the blue in a 10 and they are my go to summer dresses. If I ever sell, you'll be my first refusal! X

ScottishMouse · 22/06/2023 12:43

Lots of new things added to the sale, including shorts and some of this season’s linen dresses.
I am sitting firmly on my hands (for now!).

Stravaig · 22/06/2023 12:46

@ToastCosILoveIt 🤣 I love helping people with clear-outs! How we think of costume, and possessions, and how to align intent with reality, it all varies so much. The psychology of it is fascinating. All while playing with lovely things. Sending minimalist 'just so' vibes!

Zeusrules · 22/06/2023 13:01

I've just nabbed some of the recently added items, linen shorts and the starfish nightmare, I'm hoping they will double as daywear. Just about to take my first lot of returns back. Loving all the wardrobe pics.

lordloveadog · 22/06/2023 13:15

Thank you for the heads up, mouse!

Have got some of the bed linen with the blue stripe. Hope it's as nice as the stripey set I bought in the last sale.

Also trying the Gingham Seersucker Cotton Dress which I had my eye on, though suspect the shape may not be right. And the Cotton Linen Herringbone Trousers in my never-ending quest for trousers which fit.

Laska2Meryls · 22/06/2023 13:21

Halo is once again busted ! But I got the olive linen garment dyed tunic which has been oos in my size for ever and the brushed back grey trousers which I could never justify at the full price.. Both I think will be keepers ..
Resisted everything else ..

Trinitybean · 22/06/2023 13:31

Thanks for the heads up only looked about half an hour ago!

I went a bit daft!
Bought the pond check dress, linen shorts in blue [wanted the mini check ones but OOS] linen tunic in the dusky pink and the yellow check vest in linen with the thick straps. That is it. Wanted the fisherman trousers in cream but still too expensive with all that I bought.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/06/2023 13:33

Any ideas on what size I should of got for the pond dress? I ordered the medium but as a 14 maybe I need the large?
