@InterestingMuch - I think that's a very wise decision, and Toast are quick with returns and refunds and relisting too. Good luck!

Laska2Meryls · 30/06/2023 16:48

@BettinaInDenmark did you find your copper trousers.. just think of you, as I have been wearing mine today ...
Hope that you did !

Alpacasoft · 30/06/2023 16:58

I ended up keeping the Draped cotton linen utility shirt dress in both colours plus the denim Blush
On the plus side they fit beautifully so I know I will wear to death.

I did try the Checked cotton utility dress but was disappointed in the fit, narrow shoulders, less fitted on the waist.
I have wide shoulders and a narrow waist!
Lovely fabric though-very different to how it looks in the picture.
No yellow,at all a dark check with a caramel square.
Wierd that the picture is so wrong colour wise.

Just pondering one more purchase, then I'm done.
Not that keen on the new stuff.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/06/2023 17:26

I have already worn the pink smoke one three times!! I must really love it!
My mum also commented on the colour being beautiful [ she rarely says anything about what I am wearing these days]
I quite like the front opening but I get what you mean @Laska2Meryls
Ive just ordered the seersucker gingham shirt. The dress is just amazing quality and although I am not a fan of brown, the combination of timber and ecru is truly beautiful as is the stunning material. I think the shirt is actually a bit of a bargain.

lordloveadog · 30/06/2023 18:47

@neveradullmoment99 today I am wearing the seersucker gingham dress with the biscuit cashmere cardigan. Lovely colours!

neveradullmoment99 · 30/06/2023 18:52

Its a beautiful dress. Sounds like a gorgeous combination!

neveradullmoment99 · 30/06/2023 18:54

It is so wet here. When it's that miserable, I just don't feel like putting on a dress. I had on my panelled denim trousers and my pink smoke linen shirt. Sadly I managed to spill some fabric conditioner on it so it ended up in the wash!

Countmeout · 30/06/2023 19:49

Wet here too. I’m in the brass Alix and have pulled on the brownish sweater I got in the winter sale.

PretLea · 30/06/2023 19:53

I’ve only been shopping at Toast for a few months. I was wondering if anyone might have a hunch (I guess based on past experience, or otherwise) as to when some of the other summer linen dresses might go on sale? The easy one, tunic, boat neck. I absolutely love their clothes, but in all honesty, struggle to pay full price.

Toast at full price is far too expensive now. Its expensive even in the sale!

Countmeout · 30/06/2023 19:58

I bought summer stuff in a sale at the end of September last year @PretLea . I do think they carry some stuff forward though so no predicting what will be in it.

PretLea · 30/06/2023 20:30

So it’s not just me @neveradullmoment99 Thanks @Countmeout it seems I’ll have to wait to stock up for next summer a bit later in the year.

Laska2Meryls · 30/06/2023 20:48

Did anyone else buy the blue Windflower lounge dress? I did and its lovely.. has been worn lots already and has already been in the wash a couple of times irons beautifully and currently I am wearing it again this evening.. .. Lovely light crisp cotton. The Perfect summer 'floating in the garden and at home in the evening' dress ... Most definitely recommended.

But... The pattern.. it has to be one of those weird brain things.. but I just cannot see flowers in it.. in fact what I can see are animal faces and birds (and DH agrees with me.).... so now its affectionately known as 'The Ducks and Cows dress'

I have just put it on now after my evening shower.. moo quack !

.

Stoic123 · 30/06/2023 21:20

@Laska2Meryls - ha. Just looked at it and definitely moo & quacks.

dudsville · 30/06/2023 21:43

🤣 I'm off to have a look now too @Laska2Meryls !

@PretLea ,I only buy in the sale. It is a lucky dip but I've put together a nice wardrobe from the sales.

Today i was feeling under the weather so i was in the ticking linen striped trousers and an orange striped tee. Then the black check cashmere cotton trousers and an over sized tee for bed. I'm sure I'll be back in the space check trousers tomorrow, they've become firm favourites.

dudsville · 30/06/2023 21:45

Spot on description, how funny!

MiracleToast · 30/06/2023 21:52

Very wet here too. I decided to keep the white elena shirt and today cheered myself up by wearing it to work under the Hazel lofty jumper. I paired them with lululemon deep green leggings and the cream novestas. I felt quite pleased!

Trinitybean · 30/06/2023 22:02

@PretLea I blame John Lewis for my Toast addiction, 70% off twice a year and then they stopped stocking it! Toast's decision I think. I think the homewares stuff is not a bad price as very good quality and often unique. Mostly only buy in the sales unless desperate for an item for hol and it's not too madly expensive as in panel denim trousers. I realised when buying the denim skirt in the sale at £70 been £145, my last one I bought was probably around five years ago and was £95 full price!

Trinitybean · 30/06/2023 22:10

@neveradullmoment99 it's probably around two years ago I bought Alix in JL sale thinking I'm not sure about these £82.50 that's mad, I was going to return them but when I did they'd gone down to around £50 and I just about kept them!

Trinitybean · 30/06/2023 22:12

Also, anyone else wishing that woman on the new homepage floating around in the dress/gown thing would be allowed to walk up those steps!

Laska2Meryls · 30/06/2023 22:46

I'd just like to point out that it is Friday evening and I may, possibly have had a 🍷or two before I wrote that last post ..Blush

Stoic123 · 30/06/2023 22:48

@Trinitybean - I agree about the homeware. Most of my Toast homeware items have been bought full price with very few regrets.

Much of it is used daily - chopping board, soap dish, cushion cover, bed linen, colander etc are among my favourite things.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 04:57

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 22:29

Can anyone suggest a dress in same similar material, style and length to the red gingham check that does not have a check pattern?

I would keep the gingham dress as I really like it, but the check pattern really is triggering headaches🙃.

On reflection, I am finding the sail stripe material too thick and stiff, (although I love the colour.)

Just wondering what size you ordered in this dress? Is it tts? Or size down?

Countmeout · 01/07/2023 07:25

Oooh. Kindred Toast live Tuesday - anyone?

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 07:33

Hi, @neveradullmoment99.

I ordered a Medium in both dresses. I am a high street 12 irl - small shoulders and frame but with a large bust!

I found the gingham roomier on the bust than the sail stripe, but with slightly less material in the (very) full, swishy skirt.

For me, they are tts on top. Those with small busts and shoulders might prefer to size down.

I am still sad I had to return both as they fitted me well. However, the gingham triggered migraines, (I am hyper-sensitive to some patterns), and I wasn’t keen on the noticeable seam down the middle of the sail. Lovely colours and fit, though!
