@ScottishMouse I ordered the boatneck in the last sale and sent it straight back as it was very fitted. Much smaller than the Emma

ScottishMouse · 26/06/2023 17:59

Thanks @faustina and @dudsville

@Laska2Meryls - like the Mexican Tile Dress a lot and will wear this weekend. Great for holidays too.

All arrivals today are going back.

  • Pond Dress -I feel bereft. The dress was lovely (this one not wonky) and style suited me (would have shortened straps slightly- but an easy amend). My Test 1 (colour suits) failed - too muted for me. I need brighter and darker. A reluctant return.
  • Navigation Scarf - lovely colour but Test 1 failed. It's a lovely vibrant colour (blue one) but tone slightly wrong for me.
  • Starfish Lounge Jacket - a bit of an awkward shape on me. The S/M was fine size wise but a bit awkward looking on me (12/14 in RL).
Stoic123 · 26/06/2023 18:12

A mixed Pond Day it seems.

dudsville · 26/06/2023 18:14

The pond is a fickle yarn.

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 18:22

The ways of the Pond are strange indeed 🤣.

I may reorder once I have all today’s arrivals on their way back to Toast.

Laska2Meryls · 26/06/2023 18:55

The boat neck definitely is @ScottishMouse ..I have had to size right up to XL and its not overly loose on me.. tbh id say the XL is like a M&S fitted 16..

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 19:16

So my last sale orders arrived. Seersucker gingham dress is gorgeous. Has anyone hot it? It's a bit roomy at the top. Ordered my normal 14 as reviews said it's neat on bust. I love it but undecided if I should size down?

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 19:16

Linen shorts! Thank goodness I didn't size down. They are tts.

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 19:25

No pond here but the Gingham Seersucker Cotton Dress | Timber/Ecru arrived and is great. Really nice summer dress for hothot days and looks nice with the cashmere cardie in biscuit over it. A degree of Little House on the Prairie, which will be countered by dangly earrings.

Also the Cotton Linen Herringbone Trousers | Maple which Saurus got too. They have quite a strong vegan commune vibe but are also surprisingly flattering, as though I just got back from a couple of weeks of mediation and lentil-munching. Quite generous on me in an 18/XL, so if you're a trouser downsizer, this is one on which to downsize.

And the Panelled Denim Trousers | Indigo, for which I paid full price because they're selling well and I would really really like a pair of comfortable jeans. Which I think these are. They come up nice and high which I prefer. They're rather too straight up and down; other Toast styles are much curvier. But the teenagers said 'they are very fashionable' and 'it looks intentional', which is a pretty high bar. So I think they are staying.

Length of both of these bothers me slightly. I'm just over 5'7" and they are neither quite long enough nor cropped. They look to me like the length worn by square boys at school. But the teenagers tell me that too is fashion and what do I know?

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 19:29

@neveradullmoment99 x-post. I got the Seersucker gingham dress today too and am very pleased with it. Brown suits me so I don't mind Toast doing lots of it, even if I don't particularly like it as a colour. I got my usual 18 and it's generous all over, certainly accommodates plentiful bosom.

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 19:31

That said, I also have the boatnecks in 18/xl in a couple of plain colours and don't think they're particularly small. I suppose I was expecting them to look fitted, which they do, but just right. Have been very useful tops.

Though I tried a stripey one in this sale and that was tighter and also had a much smaller neck opening, not really a boatneck. So that went back.

dudsville · 26/06/2023 19:58

Loving your critique and "vegan commune" comment @lordloveadog !

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:04

ScottishMouse · 26/06/2023 14:41

I have been wearing my new sleeveless denim dress today. I love it. But, not only has dye transferred onto my hands, and the top I am wearing underneath it, but I have just noticed that the backs of my legs are completely blue! Think I may need to give it a few washes before wearing it again!!

I think I wore tights with mine during the winter. Awful. It is a gorgeous dress though but very annoying especially on to the top.

Ive ordered a 12. Partly because I want to try and lose a few lbs, so feel in not time this will look too big on me. I absolutely love it though.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:06

In no time not 'not'!

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:07

I don't generally like brown but the gingham with the brown and ecru is just gorgeous. Understated in pattern and elegant styling.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:09

@lordloveadog I am the same regarding length in the denim panelled trousesrs. They are inbetween on me. I'm not fussed for them rolled up so where them down fully. They slightly above ankle grazers on me. I also find they are no good to wear the next day as they lose shape. They become really soft.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:09

wear not where!

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 20:11

Hmm, trousers which can only be worn for one day because go floppy are annoying. Perhaps they are not keepers after all.

Thank you for the intel!

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:11

So after my smoke pink tunic had a pen mark on it, I emailed and Toast have offered me 15% off it or 15% off a future purchase. What would you do?

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 20:12

Depends how bad pen mark and if might be removable

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:14

Oh it was very small. I am happy to keep it and am sure it will come off. Just wondered whether to take the money off or use it for a future purchase.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/06/2023 20:15

Its also under where you fasten the buttons. I think it would come off in time no problem. It is just the principle of it having the stain. The large was OOS.

lordloveadog · 26/06/2023 20:16

Oh I see! Was it in the sale? I suppose 15% of a future purchase might be a larger sum
