@Dee1224 I'm trying to only buy pieces I can display on my shelves and put flowers in from the garden. I usually get one piece from toast each sale.

I do also buy from Vinted and have made a few mistakes, but the charity shop profits from that as I can’t be bothered to sell breakables on.

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 14:25

Sounds lovely @Theteapotsbrokenspout and very sensible. I really need to declutter 🙃

faustina · 26/06/2023 14:30

@Dee1224 - yes, that's the one - it is an absolutely beautiful colour.

@Saurus72 - yes, I'm happy to pay for something nice, but they looked like seconds

I have my eye on the cotton linen herringbone trousers too, but in the other colour. I think that's the one gap in my trousers collection - something neutral.

Looking forward to returns and a further reduction soon - although I wouldn't buy the linen tee again even if reduced

ScottishMouse · 26/06/2023 14:41

I have been wearing my new sleeveless denim dress today. I love it. But, not only has dye transferred onto my hands, and the top I am wearing underneath it, but I have just noticed that the backs of my legs are completely blue! Think I may need to give it a few washes before wearing it again!!

Snowyowl78 · 26/06/2023 14:43

@ScottishMouse oh no! Had you washed it before? I’ve not worn mine yet as I’m going to have the hem taken up

ilovecherries · 26/06/2023 14:56

That’s the thing that I really can’t stand about Toast indigo. I had to wash my jumpsuit 6 times before it was wearable and it still leaves faint marks on contact points. I need to double check my neck doesn’t look grimy! Those panelled trousers I had on yesterday needed multiple washes as well. I always say never again, then get hooked in by something beautiful. My car has pale leather seats and I’ve had to put a seat cover on.

Which is the epitome of a first world problem, I know!

Hi all: Pond update. It’s arrived, it’s lovely, but faulty 🥲

DH who has absolutely no sense of fashion, and always looks like he’s been dragged through not one hedge but several, has a bizarrely keen eye for faults in the manufacturing of women’s clothing. He took one look at Pond and said that the waist seam was at least 1cm lower on one side than the other.

He was right!

Back it goes.

Pond was also a lot bigger on me than I remembered from the two times I tried it on previously. I could possibly go down a size, (but probably not on the bust 🤣).

I am very disappointed!

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 15:40

The linen panelled trousers are going back too. The small fitted, (but as some reviews have said), there is a fold of material at the crotch which just looks weird.

DH liked the sail stripe dress and I do too - the colour really suits me, but the straps are a bit too wide and big. If I pull the straps tight, then my bra appears at the back.

There are also some ‘faults’ in the material at the front and side, which again, eagle-eyed DH spotted immediately, (but I had also seen them!)

The dress is now sold out - pondering whether to see if it comes back in stock, just return, or email and ask for discount- I am going to sleep on it!

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 15:45

You can see that Pond is wonky at the sides in this pic if you look closely.

ilovecherries · 26/06/2023 15:53

Is the hem straight? Tbh, I’d have never noticed that, and if I had, I’d just put it down to how I was standing or how I’d settled the dress on me. Although having said that, because I get a lot of alterations done (see previous comment 😀), the tailor has quite often remarked that something isn’t quite symmetrical.

That's a perfect outfit @Laska2Meryls re the stack check! And you make the grey trousers look better irl, i never gave them a second glance! I've already blown my budget on "home wear" by getting the black check cotton cashmere ones. I think it might be the most luxurious item i own!

That's a shame@Saurus72 and everyone with disappointing deliveries. More money for later!

Oh no pond! Are you sure the waist seal isn't intended? I have a few wear the waist falls higher at the front and drops down from the sides. I think it gives both a waist and volume at the same time.

dudsville · 26/06/2023 15:57

I meant to say oh no @Dee1224 !

dudsville · 26/06/2023 15:58

Also i posted back a S and M today if you are wanting to try again.

dudsville · 26/06/2023 16:00

I'm wearing the plum check today. How wonderful thin and floaty is this dress?! So glad i got it and gave the heavier sample version away. It has the same waist seam at as the pond

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 16:01

Hi, no it’s literally one cm higher on one side than the other, (can’t remember if it’s on the left or right). It’s so obvious once you have spotted it - one pocket is noticeably lower than the other!

I might reorder Pond as I do love it.

I am tempted to keep the red gingham check as it’s very comfy. However, I have a horrible feeling that the pattern is giving me a migraine 🙃. That happens to me sometimes as I am sensitive to some combinations of patterns.

Looks like all might be on the way back 🙃

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 26/06/2023 16:03

How disappointing @Dee1224 🙁

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 16:03

@dudsville I am so obsessed with Pond, it may as well be my new nickname 🤣. Thanks for the heads up. I may well reorder another dress - the previous two I tried were perfect.

faustina · 26/06/2023 16:18

@Dee1224 - it does look very lovely on your despite the wonky seams. Would you mind telling me which size that is and how tall you are? (I think you're the next size up from me usually?)

Dee1224 · 26/06/2023 16:20

Hi @faustina - thanks, I do love it. I am 5’4” and that’s a Medium.

faustina · 26/06/2023 16:22

Thank you @Dee1224 - same height as me

OftenOrange · 26/06/2023 17:15

@Dee 😍Definitely worth reordering Pond if the discrepancy irks you.

ScottishMouse · 26/06/2023 17:21

I need some sizing advice on the boat neck tee and the vneck cotton linen tee. The reviews for the boat neck suggest it is very small. Can someone who has either of them tell me if either is neater than other styles, eg Emma or boy tee? Thanks.

Countmeout · 26/06/2023 17:32

That’s so disappointing @Dee1224 .

dudsville · 26/06/2023 17:35

Hm, i think the boat neck is less a line than the emma. I'm a hs 12 up top and took a large and it's roomy without looking comical, so i think it's a good fit. I can't compare it to new emmas, which previously I've taken mediums. I've got a boat neck medium on the way so can't yet say if it is too small for me. But i know the email would be as my accidental order was of an xs and i didn't even bother trying it.
