@neveradullmoment99 is the pen mark on the shirt?? That’s really not good. In regards to sizing did you get your ‘normal’ toast size?

@Trinitybean @dudsville lotus gown serious contender over here too—-a hefty discount needed however

In the new sizes, yes. A large is a 14?

MiracleToast · 24/06/2023 14:38

@neveradullmoment99 good to hear the sizing worked out. I hope you get a discount for the pen

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 14:39

In the old sizes, I would have been a medium. Its a bit big on the shoulders and it can gape if I fasten all the buttons but a medium would have been to tight on the bust.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 14:41

It's a very small biro mark. It's just at the buttons. Hoping I get money off it. The colourvis beautiful. I tried it over the bron/grey linen dress I have and it's a lovely colour combo.

AFingerofFudge · 24/06/2023 14:43

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I feel your pain- I had the same experience with the medium, it was a lovely fit but squashed my boobs and then I had a minor panic taking it off as it got stuck!

I kept thinking perhaps there was a hidden zip I hadn’t undone.

Sales parcel arrived today and mixed bunch.

The Yak sweater is going back. Similar to @dudsville - I thought the material was gorgeous (soft & snuggly) so Yak is def on the future wish list. But this jumper was not a great cut/pattern for me - made me look far too bosomy.

The Blonde Cord Culottes were a surprise. They've been hanging around for a while now and I only bought them to try on with the Yak on a whim (Yak is styled with them - so derivative!). They are lovely and super flattering. Unfortunately, someone has forced the button on this pair and damaged the buttonhole/loosened button. I've ordered another pair as my size is still in stock and will return this one when it arrives.

Falke boot socks were good as expected - keeping (and they go well with the culottes).

MiracleToast · 24/06/2023 15:26

@neveradullmoment99 that’s the dress I got for my birthday! We have similar taste it seems 🙂

In the old sizes I would have been a small so I ordered a medium in the pink shirt. But I was conflicted—it will arrive on Monday so will get to try on then.

Saurus72 · 24/06/2023 15:46

I had the best type of Toast delivery today - not hugely expensive and I already know the 2 pairs of socks and navy boat neck tee are gorgeous to wear. I bought the black boat neck tee in the Xmas sale and have loved it - quite tempted to buy another as a back up…

I had the Sale Madness on Thursday so have 3 pairs of wild card trousers arriving on Monday. I think the best outcome would be if I love one pair.

I think I’ve hit my Toast sale stride now. I expect to pay full price for a couple of dresses each season and then buy either hugely expensive things I just can’t justify at full price (beautiful PJs for example - I just don’t want to pay £100+), or core items like t shirts and socks that aren’t ‘stand out’ but will be worn loads. N the absence of the good old days of JL or archive sales, that feels ok.

AFingerofFudge · 24/06/2023 16:47

Oh shit. My two orders of the "new items added" stuff have arrived and I love all of it. How can I decide?? The space check linen dress- gorgeous. The patchwork shirt - gorgeous, the Alix indigo twill trousers- possibly the nicest trousers ever. The gathered garment dyed linen dress looks really good on me. The cotton linen twill workwear shirt is probably never going to be taken off. The garment dyed linen shirt - gorgeous.

This wasn't supposed to happen!! Am now going to re evaluate my previous orders and some of those things will have to go back ...

Acutely aware of it being a first world problem by the way Wink

Stoic123 · 24/06/2023 17:05

Oh dear @AFingerofFudge😂 - maybe one of the Mariner trousers can go back?

ilovecherries · 24/06/2023 17:08

Resistance is futile..

@Stoic123 you read my mind!!!

Also the linen check dress is faulty. I've only just noticed it has a sticker on it with an arrow pointing to part of the sleeve with a note saying the seam has come undone. I did also wonder if it had previously been worn when I first tried it on as there are a few loose threads.
At least that's made my mind up for me!

dudsville · 24/06/2023 17:17

I agree with the others re that bkue check dress, it looks great on you @ilovecherries !

@Theteapotsbrokenspout , did that dress code with a belt? They're usually really long and you or someone might use some of the fabric to add a triangle at the armpit of the sleeve to add ease in the bust?

Ive had those oh shit moments @AFingerofFudge !

I agree@Stoic123 , although i liked it a lot i wouldn't say that yak jumper was flattering for me either. It's a good little chunk of money that can be put to better use!

MiracleToast · 24/06/2023 17:27

@Theteapotsbrokenspout how disappointing on the gorgeous pebble dress 🙁 What regular size are you?

BettinaInDenmark · 24/06/2023 17:31

@ilovecherries I have that black/blue dress too, and have worn it a lot last couple of years. Yes, the back of the neck is rather weird with all its plaits, but I think I have somehow gotten used to them :) It is a wonderfully airy dress

Snowyowl78 · 24/06/2023 17:31

@AFingerofFudge ah I’m so glad someone else liked the patchwork shirt! Is lovely!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/06/2023 17:37

@MiracleToast high street 12, but big bust.

@dudsville No belt, I might consider alterations if it goes in a later sale, but at full price I wanted it to be perfect.

MiracleToast · 24/06/2023 17:39

@Theteapotsbrokenspout hopefully it goes into sale and then you can have it altered in a bigger size

dudsville · 24/06/2023 17:39

Oh definitely, i forgot it was full price!

I don't know if anyone else struggled to keep up on their phones? I lose a lot of details scrolling back and forth!

ilovecherries · 24/06/2023 18:14

Interesting the love for my blue/black dress. My DH likes it as well. I will reconsider before I take the scissors to it.

Thoroughly enjoying these casual trousers! The olive striped tee combi doesn't work so well, the lys did but i didn't take a pic.

Quite cool and damp on campsite today so wearing denim panelled trousers and very old T from somewhere like M&Co. Daughter and her boyfriend are on the way to see us so we’ll probably take them out for pub lunch. DD sent me a personal WA off the family group to ask me delicately if I’d like her to ‘pop your Toast parcels in my car for you’.
