Actually re-tried the shirt and I really like it but it has a wee blue pen mark [ very small] and no other larges are left in stock. Might just keep it...

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 11:21

Was hoping to return something!

dudsville · 24/06/2023 11:25

"To console myself I went back into the sale and spent £300 😱i find at this stage of the sale a kind of madness takes hold!" @MaroonedOnADesertIsland , so familiar, and so true!

Stoic123 · 24/06/2023 11:31

@BettinaInDenmark - wow! You have history.

@OftenOrange - that looks really lovely.

I've not succumbed to more clothes. BUT I've changed my bedding this morning after washing the Camille duvet cover/pillowcases and the Camille set made the old stuff look really cheap. I then took my duvet into the spare room and it made that bedding look cheap too so....a spare set for me and one set for spare room now ordered. I'm getting both rooms redocorated this autumn (will be in blues and chalks) and knew would kick myself if didn't buy more.

I've owned a set before (ruined by a hidden yellow duster during wash) so knew I liked them - I just forgot how amazing the quality was.

Stoic123 · 24/06/2023 11:39

@MaroonedOnADesertIsland - ha! Where did your madness take you?

OftenOrange · 24/06/2023 11:46

Thanks all for the nightie approval👃
@neveradullmoment99 I love that pale pink linen shirt , the colour is so subtle .Hope you find it works for you , maybe ask Toast for a discount for the pen mark ?
@Stoic123 I’m also thrilled by the red stripe duvet cover and pillowcases and am tempted by the blue version.
The dreaded yellow duster ! That must have been a horrible shock, and typical that it ruined something lovely.

Do you think they'd do that? The discount?

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 11:53

Yes, it's a gorgeous pink. I'm actually wearing it. I think I might wear it to death. I have some sahara culottes in white and another in black. Have the black on right now.

OftenOrange · 24/06/2023 12:03

@neveradullmoment99 I think there’s a really good chance if you email them promptly with a photo and explain that the size you need is OOS.
Good luck !

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 12:17

Ive just done it! Thank you :)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2023 12:18

Ive done this before though and in the past they have just said to return it for a refund. Hoping because it is at sale price they may consider it.

ilovecherries · 24/06/2023 13:23

I need to be talked off the edge with the Lotus gown. I Jean, it’s a great reduction but it’s still more expensive than a decent winter coat. And while I can see myself joyfully wafting around London with it next month, if I waft round my wee Scottish town with it they will look at me as if I’m strait jacket material.

Dee1224 · 24/06/2023 13:30

@OftenOrange / the night/dress looks fantastic! I have it and the matching pjs from the winter sale. I am definitely now going to use them as daywear. The top looks great with shorts!

I am wearing my yellow painted falls pj top with shorts today.

The broad check dress has not come back into stock in M. I am tempted to order the Large, but I am worried it fit me🤣. I also ordered far too much - panic buying- during Thursday’s restock/additions!

Dee1224 · 24/06/2023 13:31

Apologies for typos - autocorrect seems to be going wild!

Stravaig · 24/06/2023 13:31

@ilovecherries I know that worry all too well!
I put myself off the Lotus gown by noticing that it's lined in mustard, which I really don't like. Not sure if that'll help!

Trinitybean · 24/06/2023 13:50

I loved the Lotus gown but told myself I don't have a wafting type of life and will prob only wear on hol. However, if it finds itself being further reduced it may well be making a comeback.

MiracleToast · 24/06/2023 14:00

@neveradullmoment99 is the pen mark on the shirt?? That’s really not good. In regards to sizing did you get your ‘normal’ toast size?

@Trinitybean @dudsville lotus gown serious contender over here too—-a hefty discount needed however

ScottishMouse · 24/06/2023 14:00

@ilovecherries , I have just sent the lotus gown back. I have another gown in the same cut/style which I use every morning and evening, so know I would use it, but it still felt a bit pricey (I bought my other one last summer sale and it was considerably cheaper).
I think if it had been £100 or less, I would have kept it. Maybe it will be further reduced next week…

dudsville · 24/06/2023 14:01

I really liked the lotus set, also it doesn't fit my lifestyle.

@BettinaInDenmark , how wonderful to have a history with toast products!

I just nipped into town and passed a woman in what i think was a toast dress, batik sort of design in dark navy with white squares. We smiled at one another.

ilovecherries · 24/06/2023 14:04

Another day, another Toast dress. I’ve tried selling this a few times but eBay is often flooded with them and it’s never sold. I’m not sure what it is about it that I don’t love. I think it’s maybe all the gathers into the neckline. I think the time has maybe come to hack it up into a nightie tbh.

Well, I went out this morning in my new pinafore dress and a very stylish woman in a very stylish home decor type shop asked me where it was from. So I consider that a successful purchase!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/06/2023 14:11

Definitely a winner then @ScottishMouse .

Dee1224 · 24/06/2023 14:16

I love that dress @ilovecherries! I have a real fondness for black and blue check cotton.

OftenOrange · 24/06/2023 14:23

@ilovecherries That dress really looks perfect to me ! The gathered neck is so Toast( in a good way)
@ScottishMouse Envious of your deep v pinafore , I wanted it but it didn’t want me.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/06/2023 14:30

Really disappointed today, the Pebble dress arrived and it’s lovely. Beautiful colour which suits me, especially with some colour from the sun. But, it’s too tight on the bust, in fact it’s so neat I actually struggled to get out of it. The rest of it is a lovely fit, the shoulders sit nicely and the skirt flares out beautifully from the waist, it is quite long on me but not too long.

I’m pretty sure a medium would be too big, particularly on the shoulders, and currently I don’t feel like ordering it. I may try if it turns up in a later sale but at the moment I am sulking in the garden.
