Thanks for the sympathy @neveradullmoment99, and they absoltely should at @ilovecherries !!!
That is perfect @OftenOrange , wonderful "dress"!!!!!
I do have the navy in an emma so I'm consoling myself. I'm definitely sending the black emma back, too hard on me that close to my face, whereas the boat neck version just gives that little but more space, and I plan to wash it a lot and look forward to it fading. I'm reserving some hope for the medium blue boatneck having just tried on my tees. The large is swingy on me and there's room in the bust, and I also have a white XL that is veeeery oversized - I love it a lot though for a proper slouchy look and I just tried it on with the space check trousers and liked that outfit a lot so I'm keeping them! Ditto the ticking stripe trousers.
Having gone through everything, I could possibly have returned I considered the rosewood cord jacket, it's not the most useful colour, but it's cute and only £60/65, and anyway I can't find the tag.
I also consider the purple neat cardigan but, having said that my DH did not like my clothes, he has been much more verbal since I mentioned it to him, and he complimented it straight away. Again, for the price too, it's a great item.
I then picked up the yak sweater and he was hesitant, saying it was ok. It's super cosy and I thought would be a wonderful replacement for my "home" jumper that I recently shrank, but I think one of my reasons for liking this again is history. When I was 18 I moved out and was living hundreds of miles away from family in a sort of volunteer residential community. I stayed there for a few years. We were given a tiny stipend, and with it I bought my own clothing for the first time, and one of the items was a jumper very like this (but probably pure polyester!). I lived in that thing for years. BUT, this is not a great addition to my wardrobe and when I thought about it it would be my least favourite, so the least worn. So the yak sweater is my sacrificial lamb to ease my conscience!
