Sounds fab! I will have a look. On the quest for my signature scent and so far I’m drawing a blank. I have been getting samples from Eden perfume who recreate other perfumes using a vegan formula

I think Floral Street perfumes are vegan if that's important to you. They do samples in sets but I don't know if you can buy individual samples.

I’ve just had a look and found a sample size on beauty bay so I will give it a go, it sounds amazing!

I have some more empties to report:

  • Pantene hair biology menopause shampoo (think I already reported the conditioner): really impressed with this - left my hair soft and silky and although for dry hair did not add to my oily roots.
  • Q&A apple aha exfoliating gel: sort of like The Ordinary red stuff only a gel and smells of vinegar and you only leave on 30 seconds. Really works too!
  • Cetraben natural oatmeal cream: was given a sample pack and have been using as a hand cream just before nighty night. Really not heavy duty enough for me. Really need to get some more handcream.

A few empties:

23) Ren Hand Cream** - I really liked this, but as others have mentioned, the packaging is rubbish. So difficult to get the product out.

24) Kate Somerville ExfoliKate - I like this product but I would never pay anywhere near the retail price for it. Fortunately I have a couple in the stash from various beauty boxes...

25) Sunday Riley - yet another one! Think that this is the last of these in my stash. It doesn't seem to do much for me. I won't rp.

Total for the year: 25/135

@Newmumtoo1 is there a particular category of perfumes you like? By your suggestion I would go on and recommend some gourmands, but I would like to know if you are into florals, fruits, oriental, ambers or any other type?

Buster27 · 29/03/2023 16:14

Got some more empties, definitely making a dent in my stash pile.

Beauty Pie Super Retinol booster treatment - really liked this serum, nice on the skin. Won't RP though as moved on to Medik8 CR which is stronger.

Pantene Pro V Smooth & Sleek conditioner - nice scent but didn't feel it left my hair smooth. Wouldn't RP.

Bumble & bumble invisible oil heat protective primer - liked this, but equally like my usual which is cheaper so I'll stick with it. This bottle will come handy to refill for trips away though!

Batiste vanilla & passionflower dry shampoo & Conditioner - Love vanilla so liked the scent. Did the job but I rarely dry shampoo so wouldn't buy as I always have one from an advent calendar in the cupboard!

Acampora Ou perfume sample - I liked this, but it's a bit heavy for me so not one I'd buy. It was nice for a change though.

Just discovered this board and wow. I love skincare and make up and spend far too much money.
Will report on any empties but just had a delivery of the look fantastic egg, Charlotte tilbury wonder glow foundation (been waiting for this to come back in stock for ages), Charlotte tilbury flawless finish powder, and a Sephora order that I made to get the free gift. So got Laniege eye mask, rare beauty under eye brightener, rare beauty cream highlighter, L’Oréal Vitamino Color shampoo and conditioner. I try others and always come back to this.
will open the free gift and see if what it’s like and whether it was worth the other purchase to get it.
the good thing is I often have £15-20 of points to spend at Sephora, look fantastic or space nk.

regarding beauty boxes the next Elemis one is really good value.

Newmumtoo1 · 29/03/2023 19:23

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel Thank you for replying. I would say more oriental and definitely not fruity :)

@Newmumtoo1
I would recommend taking a look at zara oriental. It might be what you are looking for.

However, it all depends on how much you are willing to spend on them.

Kayali 28 vanilla it’s worth checking out but it is pricier.

A couple of perfumes from YR come to mind but they are sadly discontinued so I won’t mention them.

Good luck!

IndianSummer78 · 30/03/2023 03:58

One empty a L'Oréal Triple Active day cream. I used it for winter because there's no SPF factor. It was very good for my dry skin

@Newmumtoo1 if Vegan formulas are important to you, I think Floral Street are potentially right up your alley. They use all lab-made, synthesized scents. The idea is that they don’t damage the environment at all. There are no plants destroyed, no animals killed or injured and no environmental impact. You will probably love quite a few of their scents if you love orientals. (Wild Vanilla Orchid, Ylang Espresso, Black Lotus and Iris Goddess especially, but I will say that when you read descriptions of them, they do wear unpredictably and I think you need to try them and they layer delightfully too.)

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 30/03/2023 07:51

I really like floral street perfumes I got a sample pack in a beauty box last Christmas and surprised myself with the scents that I like. John Lewis stock them and also there is a store near Covent Garden.

I used an eye sleeping mask last night as my eyes have been really sunken and old looking and I hate them. Was contemplating Botox and fillers but after reading review giving this a go as I don’t really want fillers.

has a ceramic applicator that you use to massage it in around the eye socket and brow bone. Can’t say I’ve noticed an immediate difference but my skin there feels better already.
it’s the Laniege eye sleeping mask

Bath & Body Works Cloud Nine body cream- A lovely light scent that reminded me of fresh cotton and cotton candy?

Cliv Multi Hyaluronic Hydrating Toner sample- A lovely, gentle toner that would be great for sensitive skin. A simple, refreshing toner that was nice for the mornings.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume mascara sample- This did nothing for my lashes and the curl would fall after 10 minutes, and as I have fairly decent lashes, that’s really disappointing. Tried to make this work for a week (tried primer, layering with other mascara, meh) so I’m moving on since I have so, so many mascara samples.

Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Cream- I adore getting samples of this because it’s one of my favorite moisturizers that I’ve never actually bought a full size of! Nourishing and luxe.

Exuviance Triple Face Polish sample- I don’t like traditional exfoliants anymore, but I’ll always use a sample. Very nice for what it is with a nice mango scent.

Knesko Skin Nanogold eye patches- A one-time sample. They’re the kind that slide around a bit, but the juice was nice and there was enough left over to use it as an essence that evening.

Kylie Skin Vitamin C Serum sample- Smelled off the first time I used it. Used it up quickly: admittedly it did feel really nice and hydrating on my skin, but this is not where I’d go for my vitamin c!

MAC Fix+ spray mini- Perfect for my little makeup bag. Admittedly used as more of a refresher than finishing spray.

Milk Hydro Grip primer sample- This was a nice, dependable primer, and the little sample surprisingly lasted three days. It didn’t impress me enough to ever buy full price, but it was really nice to try.

Too Cool for School Pumpkin 24k Gold mask- Freebie from an order. I really enjoy this brand, especially their masks, as I think they’re as effective as they are fun. Used this now as I won’t want pumpkin during the hot months!

Urban Decay All- Nighter- This is the travel size (though I use the deluxe sample bottles as actual travel bottles!) smells awful but works a miracle. First time having anything larger than a sample thanks to a great offer: very happy I have two more bottles of this for summer.

Zitsticka face map- hydrocolloid patches cut into specific shapes for different area of the face. Nice idea, but I still prefer COSRX.

I have been using the Some By Mi retinol eye cream. I have had no irritation or dryness and have noticed a fairly significant reduction in the fine lines around my eyes and the deeper line running down the middle of my forehead. (I call it my butthead.) I’m 50, so don’t expect miracles for sagging, but have found something that is helping a wee bit there too. I have been experimenting with those Korean eyelid tapes, and I have found that the more I use them, the less saggy my eyelids are!!! Might just sleep in them. It’s not been long, but they’re bloody fabulous!

Experiment627 · 31/03/2023 08:42

@extrasushiplease I”ve 2 of those all nighters sprays from GWP. Strange question - can you feel the spray once on ?!

CamoFlamingo · 31/03/2023 10:16

My Harpers beauty box has arrived! God it's beautiful and smells amazing.

No, not at all! There’s no stickiness or residue or heaviness left that I’ve ever felt or heard anyone else who uses it mention, which I think is part of why it’s so popular. It dries almost instantly and just seems to mind its own business from there. 😅

PomRuns · 31/03/2023 14:15

@extrasushiplease fabulous - I will try on my summer hols. Thank you.

I hate the feeling of things on my face (weird I know !), I wear bare minerals powder because I don’t like how foundation feels.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 31/03/2023 14:47

@PomRuns you are not alone here. I don’t wear foundation at all for the same reason and I just embrace my imperfections 😉
