Does Hearst often do boxes like the Harpers and Red ones? They are amazing value but I’d never heard of them until this dastardly thread.

CinnamonCoffee · 27/03/2023 17:49

I'm not sure! I only found them by chance and never used them before but my box arrived really quickly and it really is great value!

Fancyateapottea · 27/03/2023 20:34

Not to encourage anyone to add to their stash… but the Elemis deal on qvc today is fab! I couldn’t resist!

Neither had I! Or the Next ones which I may have also ordered one of 😬😬

declutteringmymind · 27/03/2023 21:42

I got last Christmas's Elle one. It was amazing.

wheresmyshoe · 27/03/2023 22:36

13 & 14

Rituals shower foam, pleasant but nothing memorable. I also thought it was hard to control how much was used.

Gold under eye patches. These work, not as dramatic as the mask but they do plump, smooth and make the under eye area look great. One of the nicest photos of me for years was taken after using them.

I couldn’t help myself… I just HAD to purchase a couple more of the sparkly, snow globe lip balms. (A couple for the DDs for bdays, as well as me…) They were 70% off. Would have been irresponsible not to. Will now have to wait a billion years until they arrive. The birthdays are July and August. Hope they make it in time.

Finished Fudge Purple Shampoo. They’re not mucking around. This stuff is PUUUUURPLE! Most intense purple shampoo I have ever used. Will definitely repurchase.
Finished Senka Perfect Whip Collagen Cleanser. Pretty old. I have been keeping it in my shower. It’s absolutely fine. I just have others I prefer. It’s hard to rave about wash-off cleansers. It does the job or it doesn’t.

Finished Clio Kill Lash Volumecurl Mascara. These are my favourite mascaras. After a nuclear holocaust only cockroaches, sharks and my perfectly curled lashes will survive. Hard to remove? Well, yeah… I use a bi-phase eye makeup cleanser, an oil or balm and then a wash (the latter two with microfiber cloth). All good.

Experiment627 · 28/03/2023 06:39

I have another empty:

  • Imperial Leather de-stress body wash wild sage & sandalwood: this stuff is very thick...was not how I wanted it to smell either... am now on an Aldi 69p jobby and it smells and feels amazing!

@Fraaahnces I may have ordered 2 snow globe lip balms too! How long do they take to arrive?

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 28/03/2023 09:02

Did you order from Stylivana? I am considering ordering from the UK branch but I am scared they will get here just in time for Xmas 🤣

latedecember1963 · 28/03/2023 09:46

I'm loving all the pics of the beauty boxes but I am resisting buying at the moment. I'm holding out for the M and S Summer Beauty box. I got the Ameliorate body cream in one and I agree that it's great on elbows and knees.

My phone isn't letting me post for some reason and I can't add photos via my ancient laptop but these are my lastest empties
Johnson's Bedtime powder. Love the smell of this.
Boots Cucumber Moisturising lotion. Cheap and cheerful and does the job when pennies are tight.
Nivea 2 in 1 Cleanser and toner. Not as nice as Simple cleanser and didn't have the comforting Nivea smell I used to like.
Phillip Kingsley frizz Fighting Gloss. Out of an M and S box or Advent calender. I love his elastersizer but I wouldn't buy this as it made my fine hair lank and greasy looking.
Estee Lauder lipstick shade 441 Rose Tea. Love this colour and i always have an unopened one in reserve.
Loccitane mini body wash and hair conditioner courtesy of my son who brought them back from a hotel he'd stayed in for work. Nice fresh smell.

So many boxes so little time!!

I am on mat leave at the moment so have been really focusing on using up what I have, but it's got to the point I needed to repurchase some staples (Aurelia London night oil, Medik8 C-tetra serum, and Wishful Honey day cream). I've been waiting for Cult to do their next free box promotion and it seems to have gone live this week - www.cultbeauty.co.uk/gap-thriller-goody.list

Had to add in a couple of bits to get to the £150 threshold (went for the well-reviewed Medik8 cleansing oil as just finished my CeraVe as well as an Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner), so excited for it to arrive today!!

Plus using the Honey plugin on my browser I got 15% off the lot (highly recommended if you don't have it).

Only problem is I have the taste for boxes now (this is my first since my selfridges advent cal) - off to investigate the glow/Harper's bazaar boxes

vjg13 · 28/03/2023 10:41

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel it was the stylevana website so USA I think.

Fraaahnces · 28/03/2023 11:37

@vjg13 To Australia? I am still waiting for an order to finish “processing” (ie hasn’t been packed or shipped) from 5th of March

MavisMcMinty · 28/03/2023 11:38

I’m tempted by the QVC Elemis TSV, but remember a time when they were £50-ish, this one’s £76 if you include P&P. I love the rose facial oil, it’s my favourite oil, and use pro-collagen marine cream regularly so really want to try the rose one.

BUT I already have at least one unopened wildflower cleansing oil (and I think it’s actually two unopened ones) and they last almost forever as you need only a pump or two each time. I like Elemis bath products (so very bubbly!) but would never pay full price for them, it’s bubble bath FFS. And I never ever use body lotions (or hand lotions), I’ve a full trunk of the things and can’t give them away.

So I may not bother with this TSV. Particularly as my car insurance is due this month!

Fraaahnces · 28/03/2023 14:44

@vjg13 , this is interesting… I just had a look at my orders. The most recent one which has the lipglosses is packing and delivering and the previous is still “processing”. I think another barrage of WTF emails to customer service are due.

@Fraaahnces It does say that in stock items are dispatched within 24 hours which the lip balms are. Mine is coming to the UK so I'll keep you posted.

Experiment627 · 28/03/2023 15:29

@MavisMcMinty when you say you cannot give them away... is that cos you feel bound to use them? They are opened? Just curious...

OP posts:
MavisMcMinty · 28/03/2023 17:18

I mean nobody I know likes/uses them! They’re all unopened, not actually gathering dust ‘cos they’re in a trunk, but metaphorically. One year I had a couple of tan accelerators so slathered them on all over every night for a whole summer, but I tan pretty well without them so never bothered again.

PomRuns · 28/03/2023 18:08

@MavisMcMinty You could donate them in Boots (there's a collection bin) or homeless charities? Food banks also take toiletries.

MavisMcMinty · 28/03/2023 23:44

Thank you @PomRuns - didn’t know that, I will offload them to a good cause.

fellow beauty aficionados, looking for recommendations for a vanilla based perfume and a clarifying shampoo.

any recommendations welcome

Fraaahnces · 29/03/2023 01:16

@vjg13 I only ever order in-stock items 🤦🏼‍♀️

Fraaahnces · 29/03/2023 07:19

@vjg13 I emailled them and they said that one of my products would be back in stock within two weeks. I asked how accurate their stock notifications were as I only order if it states that they have them in stock at the time. They said that it must have all sold while it was processing. Gaaaaaah!
