Got tempted to buy the charlotte tilbury airbrush pressed powder after a recommendation on here. It's a win! I tend to find pressed powders either too matte or too shiny/ glowy and I end up looking like the tin man. I think you're just supposed to lightly dust with those, eg hourglass, but I always over do it
This one is in-between, so perfect, and can br used all over. I tend to use a bit of the wonderglow primer with thos on top, have ditched foundation. Only quibble is ot could do with a spongy thing in the lid at that price, but they are cheap enough to buy separately

It's lovely. They have one in the lunar new year packaging on cult beauty going cheap

Fraaahnces · 06/06/2023 06:34

Ooooh I need a new powder. Going to look. (Also love Chinoiserie!)

Thanks for the tip! I bought the tan shade for summer but will probably use the medium in winter.

How do you apply it, with a big powder brush?

PomRuns · 06/06/2023 07:03

My bare minerals is out of stock, has been for ages. I’ll look at your timely recommendations !

OchonAgusOchonOh · 06/06/2023 09:06

Ceramide eye cream. This was fine but to be honest, I'm not convinced eye creams really do anything much.

Hairgain hair mask. I used it as a substitute for conditioner. Didn't notice any difference but my hair is in good nick anyway so I generally don't notice much effect.

Simple triple protect moisturiser. I like this under make-up. I have another waiting to go.

How dark is the CT powder in Tan? I love compact, but I am already weirdly yellow/green. Don’t want to look like Big Bird.

It's not too dark.
I do brown easily to be fair and recently came back from a holiday

No joy with pencils here either @Fraaahnces they're literally a use until the nib is blunt then can never be sharpened. Someone somewhere presumably knows how to do it but it isn't me

Used to love this but they changed the formula and added silicone 😡 this is the last of the silicone ones I accidentally bought

Empty no 15: Beija Flor Elasti cream - loved the scent of this wasn’t sure at first but was really nice and would rp if I didn’t have loads to use up first and wasn’t rubbish at remembering to use body lotions

I actually googled and YouTubed eyeliner sharpener reviews. I have purchased the Barry M pink double-ended one. Will report once I have used it.

Next in beauty news… I ordered a “Beauty Bento” eyeshadow from Kaja Beauty. They’re not exactly cheap with exchange rates and shipping, but they are so handy to hurl in your purse for work or for travel, and the colours and quality is fabulous. Aaaaanyhow, I wrote a balanced, but not entirely favourable review of one of the Bentos, as the top layer lifted and went weird like the Melt eyeshadows did ages ago. I also explained that I wasn’t devastated as I loved the other two shades in the Bento and I use it all the time. I have about six of these and I would say that the quality (apart from the glitter shade in Mauve Bouquet) rivals my Pat McGrath Palette. I would say that it’s easier to work with and the longevity is better.
Anyhow, they emailed me and asked me to share the batch No and my order number, and they’re sending me a new one for free! How nice is that?
I’m still going to keep my old one, but might see if I can pull it apart and swap out the busted shade for one of my DIY re-pressed (Not repressed) shades. They’re about the same size.

Fraaahnces · 08/06/2023 14:44

I am sure I won’t remember to let you know unless I write it now… THIS TADAAAAAH! is the duck’s nuts! My dosgiest, softest gel pencil - schmick! It’s a bit of an IQ test working out how the damn thing opens, but it’s fab!

IndianSummer78 · 08/06/2023 16:24

A good mousse for my curly hair but it contains silicone so I won't be RP

I’ve succumbed to another couple of boxes BECAUSE - and this is genius - it’s my 60th birthday next month and I’m going to save every single one to be unboxed on my birthday, as a lovely well-deserved gift to myself. Ha!

MavisMcMinty · 08/06/2023 16:45

…and I know I can do it because a friend confused the date of my birthday and sent me a present last week that I STILL haven’t opened.

PomRuns · 08/06/2023 16:54

Happy birthday for next month !

Ren cleaning gel, was fine for morning. Don’t think either be good for make up removal.
Dirty works (stupid name) body scrub - was too funny. Was a random supermarket buy, not a rp
Fenjal pomegranate oil and green tea. Didn’t like the smell, didn’t lather that well.
Dizziack deep conditioner. Like, was in a Liberty beauty bag.

*too runny. It wasn’t making me laugh at all.

FilthyRich · 08/06/2023 18:04

Emptied my 'smellies' cupboard today as I need to put more in. Oh my goodness, several drawers of shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, body lotions, ... primers, foundations, eyeliners, eyeshadows, mascaras, powders, bronzers, ....moisturisers, serums, face oil, cleansers, face washes, ... nail products... hair ties... lip balms...

What do I do with it all. It's mostly nice stuff and a lot is unopened?

I was thinking of sorting it and doing some culling, but there is so much.

IndianSummer78 · 08/06/2023 18:24

@FilthyRich If you want rid a foodbanks or women's shelter will be grateful for the unopened stuff. Or you could try selling if you prefer. Otherwise join the thread and attempt to not buy more until it's all used up!

Fraaahnces · 08/06/2023 18:29

Definitely shelter, not charity shop! The workers just nick it.

MavisMcMinty · 08/06/2023 18:29

I don’t think I could live long enough to use up ALL my stash - please don’t banish me from the thread!

FilthyRich · 08/06/2023 18:48

I try not to buy more and have been 'not buying more' for a few years apart from the odd lapse (looking at you H&B advent calendar)
I have listed some things on ebay but they're not selling - probably because they're too expensive. I might offer the part-used stuff on freegle.

There's an awful lot of stuff, but IME, if I actually used it, it would go eventually.
A lot of it is stuff like unopened lip balm that I know I'll use.

There's a lot of body lotion, and like a pp, I have to remind myself to use it.

There's also a lot of moisturiser, but if I bother, that will get used up quite quickly.

Some of it is stuff I've been given like bath & body sets. As i'm trying to cut down on energy use, I'm not using much shower gel these days. It's mostly Korres and Body Shop, so it is stuff I like.

I'm a bit disappointed at the too funny being a typo.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 09/06/2023 09:12

I have 3 empties today:

Garnier watermelon and pomegranate hair food mask : this really worked well for my daughter whose hair is really thick and long. She liked it so I gave it to her but I could not get past the smell which was similar to yogurt and I hated it.

Nivea 2 in 1 kids shower and shampoo berry scent used as a shampoo the quality it’s really poor, but if used as shower gel is okeish. Would not RP. I still have other scent to go through.

huggies wipes a staple for us.

Having bought whole eyeshadow palettes for just one of the colours, this seems like a brilliant idea to me - build your own palette!
