You’re very welcome!! I’ve spent all day going through all my stuff that has a barcode haha, I don’t have the original packaging of a lot of stuff but will take it shopping with me next time 🤣

MavisMcMinty · 22/05/2023 11:57

I’ve been using 5 new products all together for the last few weeks, and now have new rough patches of dry skin on my neck, on the sides of my nose where my reading glasses sit, and in the nose to mouth creases, and of course I don’t know which product is upsetting me! Three of them are now empty and I think I’ll chuck the remains of the other two, I have oily skin usually, not dry and scaly! Back to the safety of Elemis and Ultrasun for some TLC.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 22/05/2023 15:57

I bought myself a perfume and the box in which it came is like that. I know I have a problem when I am capable of recognising their silhouettes by brand and name. Hey ho 🥴

@MavisMcMinty it is a right bugger when you are not sure what is causing the issue. I am trying a process of elimination. But despite using Eve Lom rescue mask my face is a mess.

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel you are a connoisseur! I have not a clue for any of the bottles!

MavisMcMinty · 22/05/2023 19:58

Oh, I have the Eve Lom rescue mask, will give it a go.

PomRuns · 22/05/2023 20:12

Oh I’m going to try that @StarryNightAddict
Very keen to hear your review on k beauty @Fraaahnces
lots of lovely empties @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel

I’m going to do a fresh inventory due to my lapses.

IndianSummer78 · 23/05/2023 00:37

Thanks @StarryNightAddict I'm going to try Yuka

Experiment627 · 23/05/2023 07:29

@MavisMcMinty let me know how you find it... I was not overly impressed...

I have some empties to report:

  • Eylure dybrow permanent tint for brows dark brown: game changer for me. Very easy to use, great results that last. Will RP but first going to try a Schwartzkopf one.
  • Better You magnesium body gel: have been applying this every morning and night to my dodgy hip... cannot say I have noticed much difference but will likely RP at some point... may try the sleep one.
  • Garnier Body Intensive 7 days hydrating lotion (green bottle): thanks for the recommendation on here - really liked this. Quite light weight and fresh smelling and certainly does the job. Think I prefer the red bottle but this does seem better suited to when it is hotter (not very often at the minute in Blighty).

@Experiment627 I use and really like that Garnier body lotion, it's one that I do always RP after experimenting with others.

BluebellBlueballs · 23/05/2023 15:08

Not an empty but I have come on just to praise the lord for clarins lip oil - I recently purchase in Fig, lovely colour, and I was away last week in the sun and got burnt and cracked lips, I came home to my lovely lip oil which has been so good for repairing chapped and peeling lips as well as giving a tiny hint of colour and sheen when I could not go near any other lipsticks.

Fraaahnces · 23/05/2023 23:20

@BluebellBlueballs - lip oil and the squeezy lip glosses are the only Clarins products I really rate. Love the Eau Dynamiste range too. Apart from that, I find the skincare to be heavily-scented drugstore stuff that is always late with technology and science.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 24/05/2023 10:41

The clarins lip perfecters are fab. Dd always wore them and I got one free as a gwp and I’m obsessed. I got the pinky tint one.
mugs hydrating and not sticky.

Boppertini · 24/05/2023 11:26

@StarryNightAddict that app is genius! Thanks so much for recommending it. I ended up paying for a subscription so I can search for things if I no longe have the barcode. Ended up binning a lot of products 😬

StarryNightAddict · 24/05/2023 12:09

You’re welcome.

I binned my mecca max sunscreen, it only got a 12/100 and I’ve been wondering why it’s been making me break out in rashes… 😬

my NYX bronzer got a 0/100 but I don’t currently have another bronzer and am so pale I look sick 🤣

vjg13 · 24/05/2023 12:55

Three empties to report, Ameliorate body lotion, HG product but repurchased in the newish vanilla and Tonka fragrance which I do prefer. Olaplex No 7 bonding oil, seriously underwhelming and will not RP but have replaced with Philip Kingsley bond builder restorative oil. Last one, L'occitane almond oil shower oil, love this and usually get as a birthday gift.

REN anti-redness serum finished. I was hoping this would help with redness I get on one cheek, unfortunately I don't think this did much.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/05/2023 19:56

A few boring empties:

36) Head and shoulders shampoo - I've never had dandruff but I really like head and shoulders shampoos and conditioners. They are better than most fancy brands imo.

37) Head and Shoulders conditioner - as above

38) Radox Bubble bath - nice enough, good price

Total for the year 38/130

My spend this year has crept up to £575 due to recent Liberty GWP and kits, so I definitely need to not buy anything for a while!

@StarryNightAddict

I downloaded Yuka and tried scanning a few of my empties

The soap and glory foot cream scored 0/100 - apparently it contains preservatives linked to breast cancer! 😮

H&S shampoo also 0, although this is slightly less alarming as it just said that it's likely to cause allergic reactions

MidnightMeltdown · 24/05/2023 20:12

Radox is good though 🙂

CinnamonCoffee · 24/05/2023 20:41

My new fave Innisfree cherry jelly cream scored really well.

I've chucked an Inkey list retinol serum which smelt of vinigar, I think this was a second hand purchase too and it was sealed but there is no date on it so can't tell if its out of date or not. Will be sticking to a 'new only' policy for skincare for sure.

Does anyone want a Maybelline lip crayon in settle for more, used once? I am not keen on the formula compared to the liquid lipsticks.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 24/05/2023 22:10

@LivingDeadGirlUK if you don’t have anyone in mind I would take it. These days are the only thing I tend to use. I don’t have that colour but I like Maybelline crayons.

as for the yuka app I am going to download it. Didn’t know such thing existed.

there are a couple of websites that allow you to put the reference from a cosmetic and tell you when it was manufactured.
I can’t comment on how accurate are but some of my things are ancient 😞

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/05/2023 23:01

Just downloaded the yuka app. Everything I’ve checked so far is basically trying to kill me.

StarryNightAddict · 25/05/2023 00:06

Everything I’ve scanned so far from MooGoo and Frank body has come up as excellent, which is good as they’re two of my favourite brands 🤣
