Ahhh thank you! I’ve never had much luck with finding “the” concealer but I will keep looking and save my money! Thanks!

StarryNightAddict · 15/05/2023 11:25

This thread inspired me today to do a clean out and chuck some of the things I’ll never use again. I hate waste but there comes a time to admit you’re just never going to use them!

Nivea soft x2 - was my holy grail for many many years but I’ve just got way better moisturisers these days and never reach for these. My 13 uses it so I’ll put it in his bathroom.

Sukin moisturiser x2 - don’t like the smell. One is unopened so I’ll pass it to a friend who likes it.

Kmart vitamin c moisturiser and serum - didn’t do anything and probably expired now.

nutrimetics hand cream x3 - I made the mistake of telling my MIL one day I liked the scent and she bought me it every year for 3 years. Will gift the unopened one to a friend.

nutrimetics body butter - same scent 🤣

Arbonne bakuchiol night cream - I think it’s expired.

I want to have a clean out of my makeup tomorrow but a lot of it was gifts from my daughter so it just seems a bit wrong somehow!

Have you tried the nars one?

Have you tried the nars one?

No I haven’t, and I’m slowly going cruelty free as I use up all my products I’m only replacing with cruelty free options, so NARS is out unfortunately.

They used to be! Then they unfortunately decided to start selling in mainland china so lost their cruelty free status. Was a shame as they have nice products.

Fraaahnces · 15/05/2023 15:12

You can tell a company is going out backwards when it returns to selling in mainland China again. Nars has great products but are absolutely flogging a dead horse with the Orgasm thing. They’re also very, very safe.

Experiment627 · 15/05/2023 21:29

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel um his favourite show is Paw Patrol 🤣🤣🤣

@StarryNightAddict well done on the clear out!

Two empties. Regular purchases, I have more so no need to RP at the moment. The Simple one although it says for night time I use it under a moisturizer with SPF for daytime as an extra because it sinks right in and I use a richer moisturizer for night

I've got some more empties to report. Apologies for still not being able to include a photo.
Loreal Elvive nourishing shampoo.
Imperial Leather shea butter and manuka honey hand wash.
Crabtree and Evelyn mini body wash. These are all ok but nothing special.
Sundari hair and body gel mini. This has a lovely fresh smell passed onto me by my DS after a work trip to Paris.
Neom perfect night's sleep hand balm. This is really lovely and not as thick and claggy as a Neom hand balm I posted a while back.
Clarins Instant Smooth perfecting touch. This was a mini pot in a Christmas gift from my MiL. I really love the way this gives a smooth surface for my makeup. I haven't checked out the price of a full pot but I'm hoping it's going to be within my budget.
Sanctuary Spa bath foam, original scent. I always get Sanctuary products for Christmas and birthday and this is one of my favourites.
Elemis revitilise me hand and body lotion. Another work trip left over from DS2 used up this morning.
Next Flowers hand cream and handbag sized matching perfume. Mother's Day present from DS2. A gentle fragrance but it does last. I used it as body lotion as well as on my hands.

I can also agree that body lotions/butters breed or clone themselves when we're not looking! I have started to make a concerted effort to use body lotion every morning on my arms legs and chest.

Is anyone else going to get the M and S Summer Beauty Box? I resisted getting the Advent calendar last December and I have only bought essentials since January so I feel as though I've earned a treat.

StarryNightAddict · 17/05/2023 11:43

Are there any other aussies here? Do we have any good beauty boxes or advent calendars?

two empties today.

drunk elephant protini polypeptide - I know DE products are a bit marmite but I really liked this. It was nice and lightweight and one of the few that didn’t burn my shitty skin. Will probably repurchase once I’ve worked through some others unless anyone can recommend a good dupe.

Dr Lewinns charcoal sheet mask - freebie in a goodie bag. Don’t think it did anything.

MidnightMeltdown · 17/05/2023 13:17

Empties update;

32) Elemis Marine Cream - lovely cream. Good consistency and doesn't break me out. I don't like the scent, but would still rp.

33) ELNR - quite liked this. Have another in the stash

34) Soap and Glory Foot Cream - This was good. Perhaps not quite as good as Body Shop Hemp, but the scent is nicer

35) Clarins Nigh Cream - ok but a bit thick for my liking

Total for the year 35/130

@latedecember1963 did you mention an M and S summer box? I didn’t know they made them. I would lime to see what’s on offer there although I certainly don’t need anything at all 😅

@Experiment627 the marketing is what you have to sell to him. Tell him you will style his hair as Chase’s. 😇

MavisMcMinty · 17/05/2023 19:12

(Nothing in there I particularly fancy, but knowing me I will probably succumb.)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 17/05/2023 21:32

@MavisMcMinty Thanks! I couldn’t find what the contents were!

Fraaahnces · 18/05/2023 01:19

@StarryNightAddict - re concealer. I forgot to mention one of my absolute favourites. It’s extremely close in formulation to the Nars Creamy Concealer, but I find it creases less. It’s also dirt cheap. giving you an EXTRA discount at YesStyle.com! Shop using my Rewards Code: LZSB2S www.yesstyle.com/en/the-saem-cover-perfection-tip-concealer-10-colors-6-5g/info.html/pid.1057117741?rco=LZSB2S&utm_term=LZSB2S&utm_medium=LinkShare&mcg=influencer The Saem Concealer They also have more moisturizing formulations worth looking at as well, but I’m an old duck and use this under my eyes. I have several shades. (The green-beige is FABULOUS for mixing with primer to colour-correct. So much better than any space alien minty green!) I also have this little pot of colour correction. It’s fabulous. The thing I love about it is that the green is a more “natural”, duller green, rather than the opaque, minty green that is seen in every single colour corrector I’ve encountered previously. The formula is great to warm up in the palm of your hand and mix in with some primer for larger areas, the peachy shades are brilliant to disguise eye bags - (also more human shades than normal) and I find it really adaptable. Not greasy or creasy. Colour Corrector

The Saem - Cover Perfection Triple Pot Concealer - 4.5g*3

Balm-type three-hole concealer that covers various skin defects at once. Three colors, which are subdivided according to various skin defects, not only create blemishes but also contouring effects. It has a semi-matte texture that gently melts accordin...

I have a few more empties and a chuck
Soap&glory peaches & clean deep cleansing milk- I didn't really like this, you had to apply it to a dry face which felt weird and then wash it off. It made my skin feel a little dry.

No7 cleansing wipes- these where a chuck as they had been opened too long. I only use wipes if im taking make up off which I hardly wear. I didn't like these but have another packet in my stash.

L'occitane immortalise divine creme- I really liked this and might rp. I was worried it might cause a breakout as it was heavily fragranced but my skin was fine and felt really soft.

L'occitane precious cream- this was from my ac, on the tube it said it takes 4 weeks to see results, there wasn't 4 weeks worth in the tube. It did make my skin feel nice so might rp to see if it works.

Batiste original dry shampoo- I didn't notice a difference in my hair when using this, was disappointed as everyone recommends it.

Clairns double serum sample- was a bit messy to use as had to mix it. Not sure if it did anything as it was a sample.

Full: 10
Mini:3
Sample/sachet:1

StarryNightAddict · 18/05/2023 23:37

I didn’t buy anything at the Sephora sale 😁
Actually proud of myself, this is unheard of 🤣

Fraaahnces · 19/05/2023 01:36

@StarryNightAddict - I did…. Tbf, I have had a big throw out of most of my eyeshadow due to extreme age. (The eyeshadow and my own!) I bought the Natasha Denona Glam Palette. I haven’t used it yet, but have had my eye on it since it came out. Looks very utilitarian. I have to wear makeup at work, and neutrals are the way to go there. I hope it’s as good as everyone says. I figure I have spent more on smaller palettes, so why not?

StarryNightAddict · 19/05/2023 02:26

I have the Natasha Denona cheek duo and really like it! Nice products.

IndianSummer78 · 19/05/2023 03:15

One empty for me today. I really liked this as a body cream. Bayliss and Harding beauticology body lotion. Not too thick or too light. I've a few more in different scents in my stash, it was part of a set. I'd be happy to repurchase one day in the distant future when I need more moisturizer

@StarryNightAddict I had a play this morning. I look a bit Ru Paul for this time of day, but will wash off and start again for work. I really like the matte colours in this palette! I can also see this being useful for a quick one and done look when in a hurry, too. (Admittedly, I do this most of the time!) The metallic shadows are great as they can be subtly satin looks right through to Spaceman Spiff!

StarryNightAddict · 19/05/2023 04:32

Eyeshadow is the one thing I don’t own! I have incredibly deep set eyes and no visible eyelids to speak of. It looks ridiculous on me unfortunately. I’m always so jealous of other peoples eyes and eyeshadow!
