Hello @StarryNightAddict
i like Tatcha too - if I ever need a new face cream - I’ll buy !

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 13/05/2023 20:16

Hi!

I have a few empties that I am ashamed to admit they have been collected over the course of a month.

Anyway…

  • huggies wipes: HG at home judging from the 7 packets at the back.
  • n°7 wipes for make up. Nothing special I prefer others.
  • dove advance care calming blossom antiperspirant deodorant. Love loved it. It was really nice, very smooth and the smell was awesome. However, towards the end of the packaging it was very difficult to apply so I had to look for a toothpick to take the last bits out. It took me two weeks to finish it that way, not ideal, but I’m willing to compromise because I liked it so much.
  • cien professional heat protector. I liked the smell but I failed to see if it worked.
  • deliplus tonico facial this is a Spanish face toner that I’ve had for over 10 years and I finally managed to finish the bottle. Won’t Rp I don’t think they have it in this format anymore.
  • pro charcoal toothpaste Tesco. I really wanted to try a charcoal toothpaste for a long time and this has put me off completely forever. I hated it. It was really messy and I don’t see the point in that.
  • Nickelodeon, shimmer and shine toothpaste: i’ve got this for my children and they really liked it because it tastes like strawberry. I only can find it in Spain. would buy again if I ever find it.
  • Three small samples to from Sisley and one from Clinique. Please don’t hate me, but I don’t really like the dramatically lotion by Clinique. It smells horrible and I don’t really like the texture and the colour. The other two samples are okaish but won’t buy a full size.
  • Yves Rocher , sensitive vegetal moisturising cream. Their creams are usually good and I enjoyed using that one. Would buy if I find myself out of face cream(not at this stage yet 😝)
  • Mason and miller Revitalising shampoo: really crappy hotel mini. I don’t like the cheap ones because they leave my hair really messy tangled and lacklustre. I have others to go through but I might donate them.
  • bepanthen nappy cream it does the job but it is very thick and difficult to apply too sticky for my taste. I prefer Sudocream to that one. But I still have other 2.
  • all saints metal wave edp sample. I didn’t like the smell, so I put it for my husband to use and he was fine with it. Won’t be buying a FB of this or any other size.

Heh, hotel shampoo and conditioner (if they do the latter at all) are just about the only things I never take home with me, they might as well be washing up liquid for all the good they do my hair.

Sewing kits, on the other hand, I adore, even though I never sew.

Fraaahnces · 12/05/2023 23:24

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I have attached a photo of the bottle of fragrance but it looks like it’s been out of stock for years, damn it! They have a fig one that sounds delicious too.

Oh @Fraaahnces I love the brand! It is a shame the almond blossom is difficult to get. If you go to France have a look.

My grandma used to have a bottle of the herbal version and a couple of years ago I could find a huge bottle in Spain in El Corte Inglés(a department store) it was less than 15€ and it is the one I am going to use on my DDs now. 500ml.

I completely agree after what I saw… it depends on the brand though. However, that one was appalling. I might use as you say to wash the sink 😅

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 13/05/2023 20:33

@PomRuns nice empties stash. We all relapse unfortunately but half of the solution is realising we do (in my mind at least, and I am not a psychologist).

@StarryNightAddict welcome! I love your idea of using minis first as there is nothing worse than being stuck with a full-size cream that you don’t like or it’s not suitable for your skin.

@OchonAgusOchonOh that looks very similar to the creme by Liz Earle for the body. When did you buy yours in Aldi? I have never seen those.

Experiment627 · 13/05/2023 20:49

Welcome @StarryNightAddict !!!

@PomRuns these things happen 😭

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I am not fan of Clinique either. Much ado about nothing or the much better: mucho ruido, pocas nueces 🤣

@MavisMcMinty & @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel maybe you are not staying in the right hotels? 🤭 I my be somewhat biased as I work for a hotel company

My stash is totes OUT OF CONTROL... but everything I have I covet and want to use!

Thank you for the warm welcome 😃

I have found my people! I never talk to my friends about my beauty addiction because they think I’m weird and must be rolling in money. I’m not rich, just irresponsible. 😳

CinnamonCoffee · 13/05/2023 23:00

I have the Tatcha dewy cream and even though it's expensive it lasts ages because it's such a rich cream. It's beautiful on the skin.

StarryNightAddict · 13/05/2023 23:20

I love absolutely everything from Tatcha! It all feels like silk! 😂 I’m currently obsessed with the lip mask. And the little spatulas. 🤣

Fraaahnces · 14/05/2023 04:44

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel - I can’t see it happening for a few more years at least! Damn!

Fraaahnces · 14/05/2023 04:47

I love the Tatcha packaging. I think the spatula under the bow on the lid is bloody genius. I can’t bring myself to buy it though. It’s just too damn expensive for what it is and I know my skin would get on with it, but there are much more scientifically and cosmetically elegant products available for a lot less. (Wouldn’t rule out washing out one of the pots and refilling it with my own stuff…)

OchonAgusOchonOh · 14/05/2023 10:17

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel

They have it quite regularly in Aldi but it may just be available in Ireland. I think it’s produced by an Irish company, Rí na Mara.

PomRuns · 14/05/2023 10:29

I am rely interested in this citrus fragrances and how you incorporate into hair @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel
my DD would love I think 😊

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 14/05/2023 10:36

I just decant them in a spray bottle and instead of using water or detangling solution I spray until the hair becomes more manageable. If you find it to be a bit strong specially in the morning I would suggest to use 2 spray bottles, one with water and one with the fragrance itself so that you can find your perfect balance.

This are the bottles I have used so far (2 years aprox.) they are all marketed to children, except for the heno de pravia.

Thank you @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I’ll have a Google later 😊

PomRuns · 14/05/2023 12:02

Clarins Tonic balm. One of my absolute favourite fragrances- really uplifting.
Rituals shower oil. Did not like at all, didn’t feel fresh (if that makes sense) used to shave my legs in the end.

35/80
16 samples.

PomRuns · 14/05/2023 12:03

I don’t know why I always forget the pic

Such a lovely mummy @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel 🥰 my son won't even let me brush his hair let alone style it 🤣🤣🤣

@StarryNightAddict @CinnamonCoffee @Fraaahnces Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel is allegedly a dupe for Tatcha The Water Cream.

Fraaahnces · 14/05/2023 18:42

Thanks @vjg13, I’m 50. I need more industrial-strength formulations than that! Honestly, I just really like the Tatcha packaging. (I know it’s killing the planet but I am a sucker for it. Explains my silly snow globe lip balms 🫢)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 14/05/2023 21:16

Your are welcome @PomRuns 😉 they are cheap as chips too. The one at the bottom right in purple has been discontinued for some time now and it’s a shame because it smelt so powdery and lavender-y. The rest on the picture are citrusy-fresh.

@OchonAgusOchonOh thanks for the info, I’ll try to remember it next time I go to Aldi to try my luck.

@Experiment627 to be fair my youngest didn’t let me brush her hair for a long time until she wanted me to recreate Elsa’s french plait 😅. Maybe you could try and ask your son if there is any hairstyle from a show he likes?

OchonAgusOchonOh · 14/05/2023 22:48

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel - it’s one of their regular specials so they don’t have it all the time.

StarryNightAddict · 15/05/2023 00:34

So apparently Sephora Australia is having a 20% off sale starting tomorrow. I really really really don’t need anything and I’m on a self imposed buying ban. But has anyone tried the It Cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer? It’s been sitting in my cart and I can’t really justify $50 but may be persuaded for 20% off. 🙈

I don’t currently have a concealer I love. They all crease and/or are not quite the right shade. I’ve heard really good things about the bye bye under eye.

Fraaahnces · 15/05/2023 02:01

@StarryNightAddict The ItCosmetics one is VERRRRRY thick and I found it emphasized lines and was drying.
Can recommend the Urban Decay concealer if you can get to Mecca to find a shade.
Also Rose Inc for fuller-coverage.
