@SpongeBobJudgeyPants absolutely! I am on a mission to only have things I like/want to try in my stash!

Can’t say I’ve noticed the smell tbh, @Experiment627 . Of course as I said upthread, I’m currently using 5 new products altogether, so it might be one or more of them making the difference, but last night couldn’t be bothered cleansing my makeup-free face and just slapped a bit of the Lumene on top and my skin felt really moisturised this morning.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 09/05/2023 17:53

I feel that I am never making progress in body creams. They last me forever because I am very inconsistent, do you feel that progress is slow for you too regarding body creams?

IndianSummer78 · 10/05/2023 03:23

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel progress has speeded up now I've stopped buying more! I do use daily though and also as handcream after every time I wash my hands. I was always quite good with a skincare regimen but I'm liking how trying to use up my stash is making me more focused on not skipping a day here and there

This is the last of my handwash stash

I'm down to only one of toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, bubble bath, shower gel, deodorant and talc.... Which sounds better than it is because it still leaves me with a tonne of face creams and washes, body lotion, soap, scrubs, shaving stuff, shampoos and conditioners, hair styling products, foot cream, hairdye and makeup. Especially the makeup, given how little of it one actually uses - a face really isn't that big and most things only go on a smaller part of that

I have loads to get through. Small sizes but I get bored of them so quickly. I've donated loads but still have loads, I'm convinced they breed in the cupboard.

Experiment627 · 10/05/2023 13:16

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I try and apply every day: to tummy, lower legs and arms... that helps use up. Until recently I had no stash of body cream... then I went on holiday to Spain...

Thanks for your replies @Experiment627 @IndianSummer78 and @wheresmyshoe
I am not a huge fan of hand creams as I am constantly touching things and my hands feel greasy after applying hand cream. I will have to repurpose them as body creams or foot cream as I simply don’t reach for them.

On the other hand (pun intended) I would love to have the freedom to just pick up one item from the shop’s shelves and I would get so much space back that way at home but I have plenty of things yet to use up and it’s starting to cause some stress as progress is reeeeeally slow.

I went to Tesco’s yesterday and I am not sure what came over me but I wandered into the beauty isle (1st mistake) and I came home with loads of bubble bath (2nd mistake) some was on offer I can’t rationally explain my reaction as I still have plenty to use up, but I bought 7 bottles.

When I travel though, I don’t take toiletries and I treat myself to some bargains in the local shops. There are so many brands to explore that it’s like a kid in a sweet shop kind of feeling for me.

Many Spanish perfumeries are affordable so I bring home lots of stuff. I can relate with you @Experiment627

Experiment627 · 10/05/2023 21:42

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel we all do it... wander into the beauty aisle and pick up stuff!
There is a German drugstore near where we stay in Spain... I got Ecran aftersun (adore this as a body lotion), Nivea in-shower moisturiser (HG for me) plus some other bits and bobs... totes did not need any of it but the JOY of buying!!

Just read the Collection mascara I ditched recently is supposed to be a dupe for Lancome Hynose 😳 really do not think so but has been a hot minute since I used any Lancome mascara.

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel One of the things I miss from living in Europe is the perfumeries. When I travel next time I just know I will come home with almond blossom EDT and body lotions from French supermarkets, and ALL the citrus fragrances from Spain. (They are utterly delicious and so divine for the climate here.) Everything here comes with what I refer to as the Australia Tax, as transport to and within Aus is so bloody expensive (and crap) and it increases the cost exponentially.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/05/2023 09:31

Finished a No7 protect and perfect night cream. This was really lovely would def repurchase!

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 11/05/2023 09:42

@Fraaahnces it is a shame that it is very expensive. I can relate to what you say about citrusy fragrances from Spain, they are so lovely and so cheap. I take huge bottles of splash for my daughters and I use them to style their hair. I will post some pictures of my empties regarding that.

I tried to look for the almond blossom EDT and could not find the french maker. Which is the one you use?

Fraaahnces · 11/05/2023 10:04

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel - that sounds sublime! Please dooooooo!!!

Fraaahnces · 11/05/2023 10:06

btw, the last almond blossom fragrance I purchased was a looooooong time ago. It was from Carrefour, I think. May have been Bon Marche

Experiment627 · 11/05/2023 21:15

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel you are authentic Spanish mama!!! Love that you use colonia to style their hair 🥰 when I was away recently I was showering with Heno de Pravia, or Agua de Sevilla... love love love those fresh smells 💜

OP posts:
Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 11/05/2023 23:38

It is very nice, brings back memories to me and I hope that rubs off on my daughters too. Hard to find colonias in the UK unless you purchase them online.
On the bright side people notice and ask them what is it that their hair smells lovely 🤣. On a side note, my youngest goes to nursery and I plait her hair and when I pick her up I realise she has a different type of pattern, so my guess is that they like to style it because it smells nice and lingers on their hands 😂. Haven’t seen that on the other children.🤷🏻‍♀️

@Experiment627 have you tried Heno de Pravia con Té Blanco (white tea)? It smells divine and I prefer it to the original.

@Fraaahnces Carrefour has a lovely stock of body splashes and lotions and potions. I will have to take a look eventually to keep me updated on what they have on the market.

Experiment627 · 12/05/2023 10:04

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I have not seen the White Tea version... I must try it!!!!

Hey ladies, happy Friday. Also happy "delivery of Space NK GWP" day <oops>

In my defence I absolutely bought HG items, inc Sunday Riley vit C serum and a gorgeous This Works night handcream which really really helps me sleep.

Wanted to post - have a lot of empties but not to hand - but this week I used an MZ Skin single use gold face mask - omg my skin felt AMAZING afterwards. I never buy these, so must have been in an AC, but wow it was good.

It was this one https://www.lookfantastic.com/mz-skin-hydra-lift-golden-facial-treatment-mask-pack-of-5/12514350.html?switchcurrency=GBP&shippingcountry=GB&affil=thgppc&kwds=39700017997406161&thg_ppc_campaign=71700000020666642&adtype=&product_id=&gclid=CjwKCAjwx_eiBhBGEiwA15gLN2HRsl7I53wL4b2EdDqeuCGmbljqeuHNyFXVOJ49oEl4p2ODVs8GBhoCPz0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds arrrgh at the price but it was so good. If I could use one a week I think it would make a real difference

Fraaahnces · 12/05/2023 23:24

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I have attached a photo of the bottle of fragrance but it looks like it’s been out of stock for years, damn it! They have a fig one that sounds delicious too.

I just got the Elemis cleansing balm for £25.76. There's a voucher code for 20% off and is already on offer for £36! On Amazon.

PomRuns · 13/05/2023 08:59

@CinnamonCoffee Thanks for posting this, I can't see a code?

PomRuns · 13/05/2023 10:38

Ploughed few a few things:

Evolve Miracle mask - was ok.
Clarins brightening repulsion, very runny, not moisturising, not sure they even sell anymore.
Clarins Reboost hydrating cream - nothing special.

Also both Clarins tubes were 1/4 full at most. Pretty poor.

La Roche-Posay factor 50. Really like this. definite rp. Not greasy, great if wearing make up.
Lumene Oil cocktail. Loved it, will rp but have about 6 other serums to use.
Nurseem handcream - liked not sure I would rp, possibly. Think prefer L'occitane.
Prai upper arm cream. It's nothing special. Also can't be bothered with cream for specific body areas.
Marvis toothpaste - really liked.
Cultured cleansing balm - was ok. 15mls lasted over a week which was surprising (to me).

Elizabth Arden 8 hour cream - must be over 10 years old and I forgot about it, so throwing. Would rp if on offer.
Aurelia brightening eye dew - don't think did anything.

I've relapsed badly, buying lots.

33/80
16 samples.

Hi! Can I join?
I’m a full on shopping addict and have been reading but never posted because I never have empties. 🥴 But I have been inspired to work through my stash! I’m not going to count them because there is literally hundreds. I love trying new things.
I went to Mecca today and spent a fair amount but am determined to use up what I’ve got before buying more now! Hopefully I will be kept accountable here! 🤣

Anyway I do have 3 empties, all minis because I do like to buy minis before buying full size as I have very sensitive skin.

Tatcha dewy skin - love love love have already repurchased full size.

Glow recipe watermelon dew drops - nice but I have heaps of niacinamide products. Might repurchase if I ever get through them all.

Glow recipe plum plump cream - same as above. Quite soothing and smells nice but I have have soooo many moisturisers.

Lé Mara body butter. I love this. It's really moisturising, absorbs quickly and isn't greasy. Best of all, it's only €4.50 in Aldi, althougg, as with everything in Aldi, they don't have it all the time. However, I do have another 4 in my stash.
