I had my Liberty box today, still resisting the urge to order lovely things.

@Fraaahnces that is some serious empties’ haul! I am impressed. It would take me a month to put something of that size without make up ( I don’t use much these days).

I have seen the new intense version and also the harvest limited edition, but haven’t tried those yet. I also agree that although fleeting they smell lovely.
I also saw in your empties a bottle of 4711 remix. I have a pink one but can’t remember the name, and the original that I love too.

I also have to confess that I succumbed to temptation recently. I went to Liz Earle in Boots and bought their trio of wonders plus a toner for the eyes 👀. I spent over 60 pounds (the hot cleanser is only a 100ml). And did not receive a single sample or travel size… lo and behold I went to their website and for 55£ you get the same lot plus a lot of freebies. I am fuming and I think I might go back to boots to return them and order them online (I haven’t used them).

I also went to Rituals and their limited edition for summer M’Gouna smells incredible. Bought the travel size.

@LivingDeadGirlUK Another cautionary tale: what happened to you in Vinted happened to me in Wallapop with a fragrance instead. I wanted a bottle of vintage Avon Charisma (reminds me of my grandma, I am very triggered by smells so it’s my go to thing for reminiscing) and I purchased a bottle that was refilled with cheap 1l splash, I asked the seller if it was the original, the provenance, how it was kept…and he lied. At least it wasn’t pee, but I complained and never got my money back. I am still angry and I learnt my lesson too. It could also could happen with fragrances that have turned rancid where the top notes smell awful.

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel that would make me so cross too!!!! I thought you had more chance of freebies when you shop in person... it seems not!!! 🤬🤬🤬

We are off on holiday today and I am leaving my current skincare regime behind (except for the eye cream) and taking samples and other stuff from my stash - just to add to the holiday feel. not cos I want to have the excuse to buy new stuff while we are away

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I did a beauty swap on here a few years ago (advent calendar season). I’m pretty sure I got cooking oil in return. It’s so annoying when people are cheats.

Ha! No, but now that you mention it, that’s another that I love and don’t understand why the actual hell they removed it from sale. (I worked on its launch here in Aus in the bad old days. THAT was a party!)
I’m referring to Trussardi Skin. I found something very close with B.Intense by Balenciaga, dithered a bit (blind buy) also fell in love and it was discontinued as well. The next closest was supposedly Hypnotic Poison. I can assure you it is not. Blech. Noooooo! I have never rejected a fragrance more viscerally than that one. (Quite like the original though - also gone.) I am beginning to take this personally.

On the company vs shop thing… I know you guys now have Sephora. Don’t believe the hype re the sales (unless you want a Dyson hair thingy). ALWAYS look at the websites as the sm discounts are much better. The Sephora points are ratshit here in Australia. I have over 1000 saved up and don’t want anything they ever have to spend it on. “A mini Sephora brand eye makeup remover that feels like napalm? Hard pass.”

I have an empty:

• Cetaphil moisturisng cream (14 g tube): really very underwhelmed. Supposed to be for dry to very dry skin but feels way too lightweight for moi.

I treated to my self to the Elemis cleansing balm as it was on offer and got it for £31! I've only ever had the 50g but now have the 100g and didn't realise it comes with a cloth!

An empty.

I discovered and lusted over a specific Dries van Noten perfume last year, and my friend bought me the mini samples for my birthday.

I'm working my through the samples, leaving my favourite one until last.

Dries van Noten - Voodoo chile. Really liked it, was asked a few times what I was wearing and the scent lasted. The tiny bottle lasts quite a long time too which surprised me.

I've chosen Cannabis patchouli as the next one.

@Experiment627 And @PomRuns yes, some people seem to put themselves first without regard for others. Thankfully they are not the norm.
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely break! And if you find something you might need that you forgot to add to your suitcase just update us 😂. There are lovely things to be found in other places.

@Fraaahnces regarding perfume what I found works for me is that if a truly love one I purchase 2 and keep the spare, just in case.

I have 2 empties to report:

My DC’s shaving cream I think it’s Dove.
A chuck for me as the lipstick smelt rancid. From MUA. I didn’t even used it and it turned bad.

Hypnotic poison is the only one on the family I like. Quite surprised they have discontinued the original, my mum has worn it as long as I remember :(

I have never found something close to Envy, although I'm not a perfume expert!

Gosh, I missed so many posts and have been catching up.

@Fraaahnces that is a serious amount - you will have to fill the large gap created by those.

@MavisMcMinty I have just clicked, and saved, the link for the Beauty Boxes, not quite sure if that is a good idea or not. My suitcase is going to be so heavy when I return from UK.

I have two more gone, one was a 500ml Sukin Lime Shower Gel which I really loved, it lasted for ages. I have also thrown away an Abyssinian Facial Oil, I just could not get on with the smell and there may just be more oil in the stash I can try. I think this one was from a H&B Advent Calendar.
