Sorry to hear about the manflu @Fraaahnces

Thanks @Experiment627 it’s a genuine Influenza which is bleh. Luckily DH & I are vaccinated because of work. Unlike him though, I’m not dying.

FiveShelties · 16/04/2023 06:31

I fear I might be failing shortly on the no purchase front. I have to return to UK as my Mum is in hospital - I have a long list of products to look for. Only looking, of course.😁The list is getting longer by the day.

FiveShelties · 16/04/2023 06:32

Get well soon @Fraaahnces

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/04/2023 10:41

I've finished a small Clarins moisture surge day cream, had a few of these they seemed to be in every gwp. I'm going to try a Nip+Fab anti redness one next.

Fraaahnces · 16/04/2023 12:24

Thanks @FiveShelties! hope your mum is okay (and your list not too long!)

CamoFlamingo · 16/04/2023 12:27

Wrote a huge list of my empties TWICE and lost them! I give up! But I have about 8 which I'm pleased about. I was sorting out my skincare and heathen DD4 said "Mummy I think you need to give some of your skincare to charity". Tbf I did donate some dry shampoo, glycolic toners and sheet masks from sets earlier this year but the other things I will use.

I'm not doing well on not buying much. I read a review in the Times yesterday praising the No7 Future Renew damage reversal serum so have bought that (there is £10 off and free delivery online) and also a travel set of Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Jet Set when I was buying a friend's birthday present from Look Fantastic Blush

IndianSummer78 · 16/04/2023 16:05

Forgot to take pic and it's now in recycling. One empty.

Clarins Redness Solutions Day Cream.

It's supposed to be aftersun, basically, but I take care not to get over exposed and didn't use it much last summer. Although when I did I found it to be awesome. So I've been using it as a night cream to use it up, it does that job well too. A useful addition to the toolkit. Would RP if I was going on holiday somewhere sunny

IndianSummer78 · 16/04/2023 16:08

*Oops! CLINIQUE not clarins

MavisMcMinty · 16/04/2023 16:14

Ha ha! I too am always confusing Clarins and Clinique! To the extent I’ve sometimes bought my Clarins-loving sister lots of expensive Clinique stuff.

Just realised I did the same thing myself further up!

@Fraaahnces and @Experiment627 Thank you so much. Sadly she has fallen and it looks like she will have to move into Residential Care - very tough for her.

Fraaahnces · 17/04/2023 01:31

So sorry for you and your mum @FiveShelties! You both have a rough road ahead of you. Please feel free to pm if you want empathy/want to whinge. I have been there. There are so many levels of awful. I hope Mum’s spirits are okay for the time being at least and you find somewhere with lovely food and lovely people.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 17/04/2023 09:34

Hello! And good morning beautiful beauty friends.

To those with health issues I hope you recover soon.

To the lady that was triggered good memories from my Sisley samples I am very glad they made you smile.

Thankfully after two weeks of entertaining children they are back to school and I have 4 empties:

  • Guerlain aqua allegoria Rosa Rossa. It’s a tart rose that does not last long on skin. I like it but not to pay full price for it.
  • TBS British rose shower scrub. My DD bought it for me for Mother’s Day and it does the job. I liked the smell.
  • Inecto pure coconut lipbalm. Rubbish won’t ever buy again.
  • kenzoki creamy white sparkling face day cream. This ancient sample is lovely and I deeply regret not trying it when I got it so I could buy one. If you know of a substitute for this I would love to know as it is silky and sinks in skin beautifully and the smell is amazing. I am not sure why Kenzo stopped producing Kenzoki products…

@FiveShelties that sounds tough. Good health really is the greatest gift of all.

I have one empty to report:

  • Boots Ingredients repair serum with niacinamide: I really liked this - I used on both wet and dry hair. Good for calming frizz without adding too much oil to my already greasy hair. Lasted ages - admittedly I only use once or twice a week. I am moving on to Percy Reed no oil hair oil - which one of you lovelies (sorry my memory is shocking) recommended a while back. I would definitely repurchase this serum though in the future.

:Dr BS HA, didn't rate this at all

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel - Guerlain has released a “forte” version of the Rosa Rossa Aqua Allegoria. I love the Herba Fresca and Mandarine Basilic - also Orange Solleia. Agree, full-price is too much. So delicious though. (Can’t wear rose, but love it on others. My skin turns it to bug spray.)
Meanwhile, they have also released giant, refillable bottles too. (Speaking of spendy!)

Fraaahnces · 18/04/2023 06:55

Now ladies (I think we’re all ladies here, but probably rude to assume.)
I have been keeping a secret from you. DH threw a strop (“Why are you keeping all this empty shit in a bag? Can’t we chuck it out?”). I have to admit it was far, far easier to just agree to get rid than to explain. I’ve been busy!!!
perfume, moisturisers, samples, some makeup, a hairspray, some hair goop, my usual brush & sponge cleaner, (some others that they said would be just as good but weren’t) sunscreens, cleanser and a very old, very off Mac Fix Plus that I didn’t like using because it smelled like wee. TA DAAAAAAA!

Wow @Fraaahnces !!!! That is some empties haul!

So I thought I had hit onto an excellent idea of buying products on Vinted, using the money I've made and not spending it on clothes. However a word of waring to anyone else who may go down this route, I've received some very out of date products! I've only just noticed the Nip+Fab moistureiser I've bought is dated 2009 :O

FiveShelties · 18/04/2023 10:56

@Experiment627 thank you so much, you have been so kind

@Fraaahnces you brought a tear to my eye with your lovely message. I may well PM you to winge next week as I try to find a suitable home.

Apologies for de-railing the thread - back to using up ............... and buying more.

Otto hand balm. It smells like a 1990's hippy shop but I quite like that. It was effective but not exciting enough to rebuy.
