One empty today. Dove moisturizer. No complaints, it does the job.

Brought the tatcha lip mask and silk cream from space nk today. Dd got one of the Sol de janiero perfume sprays.
we we’re in Windsor for a walk and went past on the way back to the car and stopped for a look in. Lovely shopping experience but the products are all quite expensive. I have now got £5 rewards on my card but £5 doesn't
go far there.
whereas I have £25 at look fantastic and &15 at Sephora.
dd and I are going to Westfield tomorrow to the Sephora. She has birthday money left and wants to visit. It’s only 40 minutes away so we’ll go and get lunch as well.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 03/04/2023 18:38

Thanks for your well wishes. I was feeling the aftermath of the migraine yesterday but today is brighter and I feel better.

My empties are:

  • westlab reviving epson salts. Does the job, I like adding them to the bath and I like the texture they have, but I don’t feel extremely relaxed as if I was to have the bath on its own.
  • Creightons pink grapefruit daily face scrub I like the smell, but the texture is too runny and the beads are few. I wish it had more. Made with walnut shell.
  • sol de Janeiro shower cream gel. The smell is amazing very similar in my opinion to baccarat rouge. I really enjoyed using this one. However, the brand is a bit misleading as it is made in the USA instead of Brazil. Got it as a freebie, too expensive for a shower gel.
  • Lol surprise neon qt bubble bath. This bubble bath last for ages and my daughters were really happy using it. It has glitter in it which makes it more fun. I’m just hoping that the glitter is biodegradable. Won’t rp I have other things to use up first.
  • neutrogena oil free moisturising. By the texture I can tell that it has silicon in it. I liked how quickly my skin absorbed it and that it has a minty feeling. I have an other one to use too.
  • Perfume samples from Jimmy Choo fever and Michael Kors gorgeous. In my opinion, fever smells like really strongly perfume, baby wipes with some plum in it. Gorgeous, however, is a pretty floral but very unremarkable. I am very glad I tried them, but I won’t be buying them.
  • Two cream samples from Sisley Paris.
cleansing milk with white lily smelt lovely, but it is too thick to be a cleansing milk imo. Sisleya essential skincare lotion has a texture that makes it really easy to apply because it’s thicker than an essence and similar to a serum. I liked it but not so much to pay full price. Besides, with what it’s in the sample you only get one application.

@UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter I actually got myself the Tatcha dewy cream the other day too from space NK. I had £5 points and also £35 from top cash back I used. So really only cost me £25 and it looks amazing. Still waiting for delivery which is due today.

Fraaahnces · 04/04/2023 06:58

Let me know how you go with the retinol @Babysharkdoodoodood!

I have three hair empties today.

K18 hair treatment. Godsend for my hair, but not my wallet. Leaves olaplex for dead on my poor fried tresses.
KeraColor Clenditioner in Honey. Fabulous way to dye, condition and treat your nuked, bleached af hair at the same time. I recommend this colour, silver (which I used before) and Espresso. I’m getting brave in my old age! My hair is shiny and soft despite my appalling abuse of it.
Mise-En-Scene Styling Serum. I didn’t finish it all, but most. I need something with a bit more oomph now, but it was great prior to wrecking my hair. Gave to DD2. Also not fond of the rosey scent, tbh. Have gone nuts ordering on Olive Young Sale. Am expecting delivery of Silk Amino Bonding shampoos, treatments and conditioners.

CinnamonCoffee · 04/04/2023 14:38

The Tatcha dewy cream is so beautiful! Really sinks into my skin and is perfect for being on the dryer side. Space NK also gift wrapped it and put it in a lovely gift box with some samples and a £10 off gift card.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 04/04/2023 16:21

sephora haul the store was not. Not as big as I expected and a lot of stock out of stock.
dd got more than me. She got
byoma skin care
sol de janeiro lip balm and spray
ariana grande lip oil
gisou lip oil
mini Sephora mascara

i got glow recipe cream kosas convealer and lip oil and a Sephora eye mask.

but disappointing that you don’t seem to get points instore. I used £15 of loyalty points but spent £170 so in theory I should have another £10 of points.

One empty: Body Shop shea shampoo - Another from the advent calendar. It was OK but I wouldn't buy it on its own. Tbh I think I'm falling out of love with the Body Shop. They've put their prices up and most of the products just aren't worth it imp.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/04/2023 14:00

Dove relaxing body wash finished, was fine nothing to write home about but not offensive either, part of a set I got for Christmas so onto the 'refreshing' version now.

I've stopped a lot of my skin care as I thought it would be a good idea to get my lip waxed, reader it was not. Back to hair removal cream for me!

Have you ever tried dermaplaning? I absolutely love it, my skin is baby soft and my skincare sinks in so well afterwards.

Is that a fancy way of saying shaving?

No if its done properly it removes your skin too

PomRuns · 05/04/2023 17:21

There are very mixed reviews for dermaplaning.

PomRuns · 05/04/2023 17:23

@MidnightMeltdown I was thinking about a budge to aim for - maybe £50 a month but in reality that's 2 advent calendars and maybe a beauty box.
I think I might need to a more gentle introduction to budgeting !

declutteringmymind · 05/04/2023 18:01

Hi all. Thanks for all the reviews, I really want to try the tatcha dewy thing.

Only a few empties from me as I've been lax with skin care. Need to get back on it.

A few empties from me.

Clarins hydra essential gel sorbet. Lovely and moisturising. Might RP.

Ren clean screen mineral spf. Not a fan. Dries before you can spread it and gave me spots.

Ameliorate transforming body lotion. Did the job but don't like the smell.

CT Pillow talk push up lashes sample size. Clumpy, smeary and stings my eyes. Will be going in the bin.

I've got a beauty budget and it's hard but it's disciplined me into buying what I need rather than being wasteful. My biggest splurges are Venn age reversing concentrate and Botox.

MidnightMeltdown · 05/04/2023 23:39

A few more empties:

26) Youth to the people cleanser - ok but ridiculous packaging. Who on earth has time to wait for their cleanser to slowly drip out of a glass bottle?!

27) Bioeffect EGF Serum - love this. It's one of the very few products that actually makes an instant difference to my skin

28) ESPA Moisturiser - ok, nothing special. I'm not a big fan of ESPA products. They mostly seem to be mediocre products in expensive packaging

Total for the year 28/135

@PomRuns

Yes I'm not sure either. This is the first year that I've kept track, so I have no idea how much I've spent in past years, but definitely a lot!

I was thinking that it would be good to keep it under £1,000, but given that I've already spent £400, that could be tricky! I should need very little though, so we'll see. Advent calendars are usually my downfall - especially when there are lots of discounts like there were last year! 🙈

Simply keeping track is definitely making me more mindful about my spending though. I should not need £100 per months worth of beauty products!!

vjg13 · 06/04/2023 16:53

@declutteringmymind The Ameliorate lotion now comes in a few fragrances, a rose one and I think Tonka bean and vanilla. I don't like the chemical smell of the original but do find it very effective so plan to try the Tonka bean and vanilla.

declutteringmymind · 06/04/2023 19:18

@vjg13 thank you for letting me know. Might consider it if I ever finish my stash!

FiveShelties · 07/04/2023 03:25

No 7 Primer which I have been using for ages is finally empty. No need to repurchase as I am sure there are at least 3 other types somewhere. Swell Protection and Renew serum. Use this after swimming and keeps my hair shiny. I seem to have lots if hair products so again no need to buy more.

I am amazed at how long these tiny tubes seem to last.

Hi 👋 first time poster, long time listener.
You’ve all been great motivation for me to use stuff up before I buy any thing new. Empties from the last few days- will RP the dry shampoo and hairspray

I got my self a new moisturiser and it's amazing. Innisfree cherry jelly cream. It's clear but it's so moisturising. It's my new day time one. Really great price too and 20% discount atm on Cult.

Has it got sun protection as well?

2nd night of retinol eye cream. No change and no peeling or dryness.

How do you find the regrowth and when you say 'if its done properly' what is the skill level? I ask because I'm sight impaired so can't for example pluck my hairs as I can't see them individually.
