@Onprozacandmyhighhorse

Thank you! That's the one.

Just want to point out that Diana wore "proper" jewellery in those glove photos.

I think Kate should have worn an enormous diamond bracelet over one glove.

I still don't understand the choice of earrings.🤷‍♀️

Maireas · 20/02/2023 11:49

Oh, an enormous diamond bracelet over one glove...yes!

And a diamond brooch on her waistband, Max-style…

TangledWebOfDeception · 20/02/2023 12:56

A stomacher! A diamond bracelet. Earrings. A fantastic strapless dress. OR a caped dress would work too. Or any dress that fits the vibe properly. Opera gloves.

But not for the BAFTAs. It's really not a grand enough event.

However. If there's a gala dinner in connection with the Coronation... 😍😍

daysofreading · 20/02/2023 13:41

I'm not sure I'll ever be a fan of the gloves, but I think they could've worked with one of these gowns. And one of these bracelets/earring sets!

I too think the gloves are a nope but I like to imagine that Kate was wearing maybe white ones and she popped in to say goodnight to the kids on her way out and one of them got bolognese sauce/chocolate/orange juice on them, so she had to change them quickly and black were the only other choice, because she had to cover up scratches on her arms from clearing brambles in the garden Smile

Gooseysgirl · 20/02/2023 13:55

Totally agree with PP, the gloves really work best with strapless dress or at the very least NOT asymmetrical. Having slept on it, I'm still not remotely convinced it worked. Loved Kerry Condon's dress... didn't get much attention on the red carpet!

justasking111 · 20/02/2023 14:03

Back in the eighties I wore a strapless black lace gown, opera gloves with a bracelet. I think it is the bit of net curtain over the left shoulder that makes it look odd in a bionic arm way. Diana nailed it

QueryA · 20/02/2023 14:32

I'm not keen on the gloves, like others I think its that it is asymmetric that doesn't help. And the colour is too start a contrast with the floaty white dress (which I love). I think it would look good with the bracelett and earings from the aquamarine parure 😍

OH LORDY! I love the Aquamarines!
@Maireas If nobody's nabbed them..? Or if anyone has, can I borrow them in a couple of weeks for my birthday, pleeeeeease? 🙏🏻🤞

justasking111 · 20/02/2023 15:56

I think I nabbed them ages ago. But please borrow them and enjoy ☺️

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 20/02/2023 15:58

@justasking111 thank you Smile

justasking111 · 20/02/2023 15:58

I've been toying with the idea of a bit of a do on coronation day. Neighbours, family and friends. Did it for Harry's wedding. We all dressed up. It was fun. I don't know when TV coverage kicks off though.

BeatricePortinari · 20/02/2023 16:08

I hated the gloves and thought they looked like robot arms. It was really weird and jarring.

I liked the earrings though. They are more modern and architectural than any of the 'jewels' would provide.

I wonder if gold gloves would have worked? Working on the Grecian theme?

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 20/02/2023 16:09

just I've had a look, but can't find anything about timing anywhere yet.

Wish they'd get a move on announcing it. There's street parties etc to organise. Folks will need council permission etc

Found this it seems street parties big lunch will be on the Sunday.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 20/02/2023 17:52

just ah, I spotted that, but misunderstood and thought you wanted the Saturday. 🤦‍♀️
I can only blame being dazzled by the Aquamarines. Grin

Leti at the Culture Awards.
She's worn this dress before, I find it a bit fussy. The extra tier on the bottom is a step too far for me.
Apart from that, as ever she's on point with hair and makeup.

LadyWithLapdog · 21/02/2023 08:10

That’s an awful dress. Too much going on.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 21/02/2023 08:21

I love the dress...also that she has "odd" earrings in which pick out the green and bright pink threads of the embroidery.

paradyning · 21/02/2023 08:38

Why the odd earrings?? Very strange. Maybe everyone is having a bad week this week.

MotherofPearl · 21/02/2023 08:40

I agree that Leti's dress is too fussy. When will those tiered dresses finally die a death? I'm heartily sick of them.
