I do like Max's blue dress there, lovely.

Notmynamethistime · 10/02/2023 08:39

I’ve heard there are going to be some state trips by the King and Queen to France and Germany, hopefully tiaras’ will be packed.

DisforDarkChocolate · 10/02/2023 08:46

Her waist does look tiny but that also an unfortunate angle.

Loving Max's dress too. I think they should have done some engagements in pairs, one parent with Amelia, to give her a bit more support. She looks like a spare wheel at times.

KillingMeDeftly · 10/02/2023 08:57

Poor Amalia. She seems to lack the poise of some of her contemporaries like Ingrid or Elisabeth and it must be tricky having a mother like Maxima who is so outgoing and such a big personality.

She's looked quite uncomfortable/overshadowed in the past week or so and I wonder if such a long trip was the best way to introduce her to her royal duties?

gluenotsoup · 10/02/2023 10:12

I know what you mean, she does look like she’s just tagging along at times.
I love Max’s blue dress, it’s so vibrant. Not keen at all on the red trousers and folk blouse on Amalia though, it’s just a bit frumpy but shouldn’t be.

Serenster · 10/02/2023 10:24

I wonder what her sisters back home are thinking? “Lucky Amalia” or “Poor Amalia”? I can see they don’t want to turn up mob-handed, but a two-week tour third-wheeling with her assured, outgoing, popular parents must have been hard work at times (I’m not remotely suggesting she’s unhappy, and their family looks very loving and supportive, but a two week tour is a lot for a 19 year old newbie).

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 14:25

Amalia spoke about how the kidnapping threat has affected her, how she still finds it very difficult and misses the freedom of being able to do normal things.

Fascinating job going in the Royal Household - Archives Curator: Two-year project to archive all HMQ's and DofE's private and official papers.

"Joining the team in Windsor, you'll lead on the large and important project of archiving the official and personal papers of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh."

"You'll create a clear and accurate record of the material, ensuring others can navigate and access it in the future. You'll also curate exhibitions, displays and online resources, as well as answer enquiries from colleagues and researchers.
"The breadth of the project will provide opportunities for you to develop your knowledge, taking your career to the next level."

The applicant, says the advert, should have "significant experience of managing and cataloguing archives" alongside a "strong understanding of international cataloguing standards".

Also jobs going for Library Cataloguer (2 year term) and Archives Cataloguer (Permanent role).

These all sound like they'd be so, so interesting.

justasking111 · 10/02/2023 14:33

Why was the risk to Amalia greater than the risk to other royals, William, harry, Beatrice, Eugenie, they managed it.

locketrocket · 10/02/2023 14:36

I've just been watching those videos of Max - she's loving life 💃😊

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 14:36

I haven't looked into it in any great detail. However it's clear that whatever plot it was her security uncovered was serious enough that it was thought unsafe for her to continue at university.

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 14:37

(I don't suppose they would have released relevant information in any great detail, anyway!)

justasking111 · 10/02/2023 14:56

So is she stuck at home or attending a university elsewhere?

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 14:59

She's still attending university but had to move out of her student flat/accommodation. I think she had wanted to study in peace whilst living as 'normal' a life as possible (for a future Queen).

Maireas · 10/02/2023 16:43

That's an interesting job, @TangledWebOfDeception . I wonder when we'll be able to read the material? I'd love to read the late Queen's diaries. I bet she was very direct. What an extraordinary life.

@Maireas it said they’ll be sealed for decades.

It would be marvellous to have an insight, wouldn’t it. But I wouldn’t want to, because she was such a private person. How fascinating to be able to read it a hundred years into the future, though!

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 17:04

I mean I wouldn’t want to as a member of the public! If it was my job to do so then I could rationalise that she would have known full well that this would happen upon her death and therefore it wouldn’t be an invasion of privacy.

Saw on Twitter that Allesandra Rich has just unveiled their 2023 Resort Collection. Can't help thinking that a couple of these will feature in Kate's Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Royal Style: keep the Erdem, but bring on the tiaras!
TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 23:23

Oh good Lord.

I mean she could probably make the first one work. But...just no. Don’t do it Kate! Walk away!

justasking111 · 10/02/2023 23:26

The red one is so lady Diana back in the day

justasking111 · 10/02/2023 23:27

The blue one my granny had aprons like that

CliffsofMohair · 10/02/2023 23:29

Haven’t you heard the powers that be have decreed we are no longer to wear floral midi dresses… this is what we get instead

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/02/2023 23:33

@justasking111 Yes they’re really trying to make the 80s a thing again...

Not for me!

MmePoppySeedDefage · 11/02/2023 06:36

Alessandra seems a bit of a one-trick pony. I loved the dress worn by the guest at Harry & Megan's wedding that Kate also has, but since that, well, they all look too much the same. A bit like Molly Goddard with her tulle things.

Blimey! They're truly awful, how much do you think one of those dresses will cost?

I reckon you ladies could design a much more stylish & affordable Royal Style & Beauty Resort Collection.

Spudlet · 11/02/2023 08:44

I am declaring Alessandra Rich the new Erdem [gavel] Those are all truly dire.
