I remember one I listed after from Cosmetics to Go in the 90s. I could
Never afford a bottle but used to carry around a tester pad and just inhale deeply
until it was all gone.

I would love to smell it again to see if it’s as appealing to a considerably older me

I absolutely loved Cosmetics to Go! Spent a fortune as a teen!

Passmethecrisps · 28/12/2022 23:35

@TheFormidableMrsC i have just gone done a rabbit hole of catalogues and it properly twinged my nostalgia bone. I had a proper smell memory response when I saw the cover of a catalogue

RumblePhish · 28/12/2022 23:35

can anyone suggest a rose based perfume that Liberty sell? I’ve subscribed to that beauty drop thing so should have a pot of money to spend at some point and would like to get something I can’t get anywhere else.

OatFox · 28/12/2022 23:37

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille for the autumn winter months. Gorgeous but out of my reach for now so I unashamedly buy the dupes and they smell similar.

GiltEdges · 28/12/2022 23:39

Creed Love In White Summer

Batiqueattic · 28/12/2022 23:40

Eau sans pareil - Penhaligon's

Todaynotalways · 28/12/2022 23:44

I have three:

Chanel les Exclusifs No. 22.
Tom Ford L'eu Soleil Blanc.
Penhaligons Artemisia.

I also have a mega soft spot for Byredo Pulp.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/12/2022 23:46

Frederique Malle’s Portrait of a lady - absolutely gorgeous

DeadDonkey · 28/12/2022 23:47

I only wear Chanel No 5 or Coco now, but I loved Sun, Moon and Stars back in the 90s and one that used to be in a circular red bottle - I just can’t remember the name.

Divebar2021 · 28/12/2022 23:55

The sadly discontinued Stella by Stella McCartney. Just managed to buy a bottle on eBay so I’ll be eeking it out as long as possible. Just bought the Issy Miyake Rose for Christmas and it’s nice but it’s not Stella nice.

SwedishEdith · 28/12/2022 23:55

Bought myself a small bottle of Opium as a nostalgia treat for Christmas (wore it 35 years ago) expecting to not like it so much anymore. But, no, still smells great and "me".

Karmakamelion · 29/12/2022 00:00

Damask rose by Crabtree and Evelyn. Anyone know of any good dupes for it?

LesOliviers · 29/12/2022 00:01

Stella Nude by Stella McCartney. Sadly discontinued years ago and I've never found anything as good to replace it with. I wear Gucci Bloom now but it's nowhere near as nice.

I loved Stella nude too! Really miss it.

i Absolutely love Miss Dior - always get lots of compliments when wearing that
also a fan of Bottega Veneta - Illusione

Came on to say exactly the same about Miss Dior - I love it and people always comment on what a gorgeous scent it is

Frederique Malle’s Portrait of a Lady. I was given a bottle bought from Liberty for Christmas - lucky me! And it would certainly be one of my candidates for best perfume ever.

But I think vintage Balmain Vent Vert with its glorious savage gust of green fumes beats it - it has to be vintage though, not the anaemic, watery, modern reformulation.

Icepinkeskimo · 29/12/2022 00:05

Summer Breeze by Ghost. I still have the smallest amount of it hidden away in a dark cupboard which I get out from time to time to smell it. I’ve searched and searched for something similar but to no avail.

newlove22 · 29/12/2022 00:08

I always get complimented on my perfume I wear (not at the same time)!
Estee Lauder Spellbound
Estee Lauder Beautiful
Cacheral Eden

Woahhohoho · 29/12/2022 00:08

Erolfa for women by creed. My mum adored this and they stopped making it. I had a bit of a row with a girl in harrods who denied it ever existed. It definitely did and just smells of my mum. Id love to find her a bottle.

Also very Valentino and 212 Carolina Herrera were the two repeat perfumes I had, I don't think they make either of them any more sadly. Or the DKNY Apple ones.

Christmascracker0 · 29/12/2022 00:09

Velvet rose & oud from Jo Malone 😍

CinnamonJellyBeans · 29/12/2022 00:10

I'd pay a fortune for a bottle of the original Clinique Wrappings before its stinky reformulation.

Halfeti is probably one I'd like, but the price puts me off and it's only sold in 100ml size.

I do absolutely love the tiny tester I have of You Or Someone Like You Etat Libre d'Orange and, were it not >£100 I would buy it and wear it all the time. It has daytime vibes and for some reason I feel real expense should be on the evening. Despite the fact I go nowhere in the evening
