Meghan Markle and her Make-Up

Noticed in the Doc that Meghan, although very attractive without make-up, seems beautifully transformed with it somehow? Her eyes, particularly, they pop with definition and her skin glows. I seem to look pretty much the same with or without, so what's the secret? Is it having very defined bone structure and perfect skin so it sits better? Great skills and quality of product?

A team of make up artists with the best products? She does look stunning though.

This. Along with good lighting. A life of luxury and all the money to spend on expensive products helps too

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/12/2022 14:44

I dunno about Megs, but I look a dozen times better with make up and so do lots of people I know because it evens skin tone and defines features.

maybe you are naturally stunning?!

but otherwise can you get to a Bobbi brown make up counter to be taught a Smokey eye, and also MILD contouring. A very good foundation will make you glow.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 17/12/2022 15:05

I think it is amazing how good application of makeup can make a difference. And that most of us are not that gifted - difference between doing our own hair and the hairdresser doing it.

Blondbombsite · 17/12/2022 15:09

I thought exactly the same thing. She’s naturally pretty but nowhere near as stunning. I think she wears a lot but has perfected the natural look. Highlighter, soft eyeliner, mascara and the perfect nude seems to be the key for her.

Greensky90 · 17/12/2022 15:12

Meg has good skin. The main reason I wear foundation is to cover up my bad skin, I wear a full coverage foundation for this reason.

Meg is lucky and looks quite good without her make up she could get away with a tinted moisturiser and a bit of eye make up.

I'm quite jelous! 🤣

PenanceAdair · 17/12/2022 15:17

Have you ever had professional makeup done? That's the best way to compare.

Meghan is naturally beautiful and her eye make up is stunning.

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 15:19

Thanks, sadly I am not stunning :) I think she has huge magnetism, charisma, intelligence and incredible hair and skin, this all helps too. It was her eyes where I noticed the most marked difference. I think bone structure and being very slim helps, thinking of Taylor Swift too, etc. Will ask Bobbi Brown re: smoky eye, thanks for tips!

I love how Meghan wears her makeup, it’s so natural looking and she just has this beautiful glow. I do think she has incredible skin though and that probably helps. I don’t think she needs much coverage as such. Skincare is probably the base of her look.

I love how natural she looks though, it’s such a refreshing change from the look of fake eyelashes, filler and contouring you see now on women all over social media. I hate that fake look that seems to be in fashion now.

Meghan is just stunning. Hope she always rocks the natural look!

Darthwazette · 17/12/2022 15:22

I think she has great skin, natural beauty and expert help whenever she needs it whereas I had bad skin, average looks and only my poor make up skills to work with 😂

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 15:22

I like her style too. For some reason I seem to look particularly grim in photos or in film, but when I look in the mirror I look ok and scrub up ok? Although nothing 'pops' even with a no make-up make-up look? (If that makes sense).

If she's had work done it's very subtle, V Beckham glows too and didn't pre-fame, how much of it is food, fasting and vitamins too? How much of a difference does that make do you think? Or is topical skin care/good derm the main reason?

Glad I am not the only one obsessing about her skin and makeup.

Mercurial123 · 17/12/2022 15:24

Her mum is beautiful and has great skin. She's got good genes and bone structure.

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 15:24

NB: I LOVED her wedding make-up!

Agree, on her Mum, she's very striking and has very good bone structure. I think that is part of it, maybe a lot of it. I notice I look much better when slimmer in face, but sadly this seemed to be the case only when I was about 18 when I of course was convinced I looked like a hideous troll! :)

Also it doesn't help being pasty.

There's a really pretty mum at school I see every day, but yesterday she had makeup on and I swear I hardly recognised her, she looked completely amazing. So it can definitely transform some people.

LaBellina · 17/12/2022 15:30

First of all Meghan has good genes. Just look at Doria, she looks very beautiful and in great shape for her age. Both have been blessed with great skin. She also has gorgeous hair, a great bone structure and lots of charisma. Add in that she has access to the most expensive products and too makeup artists, hair dressers etc.

I did notice that she wears more eye makeup these days and is wearing less heavy bronzer / blush. Her eye makeup seemed to be mainly dark brown mascara and eyeliner along with a warm light creamy eyeshadow, plus she was wearing a very high quality, glowing foundation, only a little bit of bronzer or blush and matte powder pink lipstick matching with her natural tone. Others have mentioned Bobbi Brown and this makeup does look like their understated and natural ‘every day glamour’ makeup.

Maireas · 17/12/2022 15:32

She has one particular make up artist who has worked with her for years, and did her wedding make up. It does look natural, although at one point I thought her eyebrows were too straight and thick, but I know that's fashionable.
I did read that she wears false eyelashes on the top lid only, and sometimes just on the outer corner. I think that avoids the thick heavy lash look that many are going for.

Shejustwentthere · 17/12/2022 15:33

She is healthy and I suspect that she eats well, gets exercise etc. As one of my uncle's said to me, when I was a very shy and awkward teen - the canvas has to be good to start with! It was a strange compliment but one of the only compliments which stuck with me. I had only started using makeup and was fully convinced that I was ugly as sin and that only makeup made me look half decent. I love her little upturned nose too. I also love her freckles.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 17/12/2022 15:33

Agree and Megan and Doria both have incredible skin, and great bone structure, which means that not only do they look amazing bare faced, but they have the perfect canvasses for make up. I am unreasonably cross that make up looks best on those who don't need it .

The trick is to make it look like you're not wearing any.

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 15:37

Are there any cosmetic treatments you can have to define face and make it look less potato like? (In my case)! :)

How much of a role does 'clean living' play is she/her mother largely teetotal I wonder? Yes, her mother looks incredible for her age and has an amazing figure, a great advert for Yoga. Does Meghan do yoga and have a strict gym regime? She seems to enjoy food, cooking the chicken etc (!) and doesn't have the vibe of the stereotypical Hollywood A lister who eats dust?

Her mother has an amazing core I noticed in the Doc. I was always envious back in The Tig days that she appeared to drink and party and yet maintain such a good figure? I could get away with it when young but after 25 I only needed to look at a carb to gain 5 pounds. She's not that tall either I think and that makes it harder. Imagine she has a chef etc?

If anyone wants a foundation which looks dewy (that's the term in the industry), I'd recommend this one. www.clinique.co.uk/product/1599/52574/makeup/foundations/even-better-glowtm-light-reflecting-makeup-spf-15?shade=CN_02_Breeze

CrabDuckDuckCrab · 17/12/2022 15:38

She has fabulous skin, and is naturally strikingly beautiful - both of these give a pretty solid foundation for beauty with make-up!

I'm sure I read somewhere that she uses Armani Luminous Silk foundation, and I have to say, it's the sort of thing that shows up beautifully in photos. I have it and think I look fairly indifferent in the mirror, but in pictures I look glowing - I'd imagine that she can afford loads of products that do similar.
