Meghan Markle and her Make-Up

Noticed in the Doc that Meghan, although very attractive without make-up, seems beautifully transformed with it somehow? Her eyes, particularly, they pop with definition and her skin glows. I seem to look pretty much the same with or without, so what's the secret? Is it having very defined bone structure and perfect skin so it sits better? Great skills and quality of product?

I think she is extremely attractive yet I don’t support her on what she’s done. But this thread is about her makeup!

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 23/12/2022 07:33

I think she’s very good at doing her make up and hair generally. She does have the help of a make up artist though much of the time!
When she isn’t wearing make up though she looks very ordinary. The shots of her on her laptop in bed and with her hair on a towel. Or in Africa doing the infamous interview. She looks younger than her age and yoga has helped her keep her figure. I don’t think she’s naturally beautiful though. Just attractive . Without make up she looks like an older version of her childhood self. Especially when she doesn’t straighten her hair. I think she wears hair extensions too.

AnnunciataZ · 23/12/2022 07:37

"Helped her keep her figure"? She's 41 not 71, women her age dont suddenly lose their figures!

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 23/12/2022 07:45

Have you had a look around you?

AnnunciataZ · 23/12/2022 07:49

Maybe once you hit 50/60 but 40? Most women I see around that age are still in decent shape but maybe we live in different areas 🤷🏻‍♀️

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 23/12/2022 07:53

Maybe those women exercise though?

Changemyname12 · 23/12/2022 07:57

She looked beautiful in the documentary. I totally disagree that she had Botox though, she had facial lines during the interview on the couch and I do believe she looks her age and not a decade younger. She also has filled out nicely and seems much curvier than when she first met Harry. I thought that was quite refreshing, that she wouldn't go for the Hollywood Plastic Look. Her eyes are quite magnificent and stunning and the makeup accentuates that. I think she's got naturally full lips from her mother, I don't think she uses lip fillers.

Lolacat1234 · 23/12/2022 08:08

I remember in the doc there's a scene where she's in a car with no make-up on at all and I remember thinking she's completely stunning without a spot of make up on! But yes you are right.

Ricco12 · 23/12/2022 08:30

She is half white and half black

She gets the best of both races. Mixed race people always have amazing skin and youthful looks.

It's her genes that make her look so glowing.

MistyRock · 23/12/2022 11:43

I believe she also wears Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria lipstick. I have a Lancome quad called Brun Adore which seems similar to her eyeshadow looks.

Yes she does have a baby face! I do too so know it has its advantages and disadvantages. Her makeup transforms her from a girl next door to a sophisticated lady. She is lucky that she has the option of both.

I think a woman at her age is likely to be naturally slim, I doubt it's the yoga.... her legs are very tiny. You can see that's how she is naturally. Her hair is lovely and her skin is fab agree with the comment below about mixed race genes..... mixed race people are usually very attractive people generally.

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 23/12/2022 15:50

Okay so a forty one year old who doesn’t exercise is likely to be naturally thin. I give in .

@dollymixtured does she have a liquid eyeliner on and false lashes, I think someone upthread said at corners only? Certainly looks natural.

A few things I have done/ invested in that I feel have made all the difference! I'm also very interested in the natural but polished look Meg does very well:

  • Great skincare. Especially recommend prescription Tretinoin from Skin+Me as that's stronger than most retinol. Facial massage and mask at home once or twice a week.
  • Baby botox. Smaller dose to soften lines without looking frozen.
  • Getting eyebrows shaped professionally - can make a world of difference for framing the eyes
  • Natural at home lash extensions eg Lashify which I have heard she uses. Amor Lashes are a good UK alternative. Put them on yourself (much easier than it seems) and they last a week or so and can be washed and reused. They go under your own lashes so look much more natural than strip lashes
  • Cheek Filler to sculpt my face and make it look less flat/fake good bone structure.
  • Very very small amount (0.5) filler in top lip only to make lips slightly more pouty without looking trout ish
  • Cream based makeup products (another vote for Trinny here)
  • Professional teeth whitening and/or Invisalign if teeth are crooked
-Dyson Airwrap fantastic investment for faking a big curly blow dry a la Meg

These things all add up to a small but noticeable difference, and I don't think I look overdone! I've added a picture so you can get an idea.

You’re stunning! Fab ideas - you also look v young.

i like the way Meg looks, a lot. And the way she dresses! But re her looks, she has had her teeth done (eg school photos show gap at front, not so white) and, sadly, she’s had her nose done to suit white aesthetics (narrowed, up tip). Just as she’s had her hair straightened. Just Google Megan plastic surgery, before and after for an idea. It’s a shame how we women succumb to pressure.
kate has also recently had a lot done, and suddenly looks much less haggered.

in an ideal world, we women in power wouldn’t do this, since it can make the rest of us feel inadequate, like we need to wear more makeup, or go under the knife too. I wonder if our daughters, or daughters daughters will wise up.

so yes, I think she’s lovely looking, but be aware she’s had help.

BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 23/12/2022 17:36

Teeth change and move over time - not many people have the same smile they did as children. But she's American and she was an actress so of course she'd need good teeth. I've had braces and whitening but didn't realise that constituted having then "done" - it's just standard dental work. They certainly look a hell of a lot better than some of the smiles I see around the place.

pocketvenuss · 23/12/2022 17:41

@Glittertrauma how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

@Glittertrauma how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 37. I'm not trying to look 20 or anything, I just want to be a less knackered version of myself so I will admit I've spent a fair bit of time and thought looking for those little incremental things that are small changes to make a big difference. Also a fan of high maintenance to be low maintenance - ie lash extensions, brows etc so that on a morning I can just add concealer and go!

But I'll probably look like Joan Collins standing in a wind tunnel by the time I'm 70 🤣

Changemyname12 · 23/12/2022 22:07

Don't know if it's been discussed on this thread before, but what kind of lipstick do you think she's wearing in the documentary? Is it sort of like a pink-ish nude? It looks gorgeous on her and I would like to buy a similar lipstick

Namaste6 · 23/12/2022 22:37

I don't agree at all with what she and her husband are doing, and have done to date, but I do however think she is stunning, dresses very well and is impeccably groomed. Like a pp, I have often wondered what her go to lip shade is. It's pretty. I think you can accomplish a decent Smokey eye with a variety of pallets - bare minerals, tom ford, Victoria beckham, Bobbi brown, revlon and Rimmel all do decent sets. Groomed eyebrows do help - they don't need to be professionally done just pencil in and use a decent brush gel. Eyelash curler and a decent mascara (I've tried a tonne of them but can't see past Lancôme hypnose).

Good skin care is a must - and this is not about how much money you spend (I've had better results with £6 original Olay lotion (the pink one) than I've had with very high end products) rather it's about creating a well exfoliated base (glycolic acid) and moisturising well before any foundation. The base is everything.

kerstina · 23/12/2022 23:11

I think she is beautiful. She is confident to be bare faced and that is because she has flawless skin, soulful eyes ,perfect teeth , retrousse nose and a smile. That lights up any room. She seems ageless too . I think her bone structure means she will still be stunning 20 years on. Lucky Meghan .

I know a makeup artist who earns an absolute fortune- This person does the very well known in films and brings out the absolute best in a face.

Good makeup artists are flown around the world, such is their importance to their clients.
Meghan will have one of these skilled professionals, and good lighting and angles make a big difference too.

user1471601171 · 24/12/2022 01:15

I’m not convinced she’s had a nose job. She has a slight bump in the middle of her nose. It’s not perfectly straight like it would be if she’d had it done.
