Meghan Markle and her Make-Up

Noticed in the Doc that Meghan, although very attractive without make-up, seems beautifully transformed with it somehow? Her eyes, particularly, they pop with definition and her skin glows. I seem to look pretty much the same with or without, so what's the secret? Is it having very defined bone structure and perfect skin so it sits better? Great skills and quality of product?

NB: I LOVED her wedding make-up!

Hannah Martin did her make up I think?

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 17/12/2022 17:39

Googling Jamie Genevieve :)

Meghan is STUNNING, she has an incredible bone structure and such a beautiful heart shaped face - beautiful sparkly eyes, a very friendly looking face (rather than a cold beauty). And beautiful skin, super elegant, incredible posture… could go on! Don’t quite get what H and her are aiming for careers-wise, but Meghan is 10/10 stunner.

I think her makeup must be very high end but it just plays up the beauty she has already, I always remember how naturally stunning she looked at the Brixton radio station visit.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 17/12/2022 17:46

(Saying that… if anyone has more recommendations for brands/ makeup artists for those of us with haggard and grey skin, it’d be much appreciated!)

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 17:46

@Backstreetsbackalrightdadada you're right, I'd never noticed before but something about her here, style wise, reminds me of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, effortless yet not effortless.

Prince H looks relaxed and very comfortable here too, I like how he's not changed his English 'posh guy' look or evolved sartorially too much. Not gone 'LA'. Surely if she had the level of control many accuse her of, he'd have been 'styled up'? As it is he seems overly fond of that faded, tired khaki type shirt thing. Also will a hair transplant be in the offing? (I hope not and he's not done it yet despite ample opportunity)! :) 'Authentically himself' like the Duke of E perhaps?

She has a fantastic makeup artist called Daniel Martin. He does her makeup in a way that really suits her features and colouring. She has olive skin with slightly cool undertones and looks great with softly defined eyes with a slightly blended eyeliner (as opposed to a defined cat eye using liquid liner) plus (I think) lining the waterline and full eyelashes. This really suits her dark eye colour.

I noticed that she usually wears light cool-toned nude lipsticks with a touch of pink, a bit glossy, never matte. I’ve seen a few pictures of her using cool-toned dark red lips, which look good on her, but not in the natural and almost ethereal way that her usual pinky nudes do.

Her base makeup is light and fresh/glowy, never matte or full coverage, which adds to the natural look overall. The blush and bronzer are also very much part of the colour scheme of light brownish pinks that suit medium olive skin tones.

the key, I think, is that her makeup suits her skin tone, overall colouring, level of contrast (medium) and features. The exact same makeup may not look as good on someone else.

she has good skin but it’s not unnaturally perfect. She has fine lines on her forehead and around her lines, which are totally normal for most people her age, even with good skin. The lines and freckles help her look natural and never overly made-up.

Iamnotausername · 17/12/2022 18:04

I look better with a little make up. I look a million times better when I have my make up done by a semi-competant MUA. I can't imagine how much better I'd look if a top MUA did me.

I thought it was Beatrice and / or Eugenie’s that she tends to do?

Lentilweaver · 17/12/2022 18:23

I have the same skin tone as Meghan plus dark hair and eyes, but I don't look anything like her! Must learn how to do my eyes properly. Usually just a swipe of kohl liner which I expect is very dated. No idea how to do more.

I love her freckles.

Sweetlikechocolate6 · 17/12/2022 18:56

I prefer her when she’s wearing day to day clothes like her parka and jeans than fancy dresses I think she’s got a nice healthy look about her she looks clean and weirdly I always thought Diana had that clean look about her too particularly during the last summer of her life I remember she always looked nice in her white shirts and jeans . Have to admit I love seeing what the Royals look like off duty more than I do when they all their glitz and glam on . I like Zara and Kate’s casual looks too

ittakes2 · 17/12/2022 19:12

She’s had plastic surgery on her nose which has really allowed her eyes to be the main focus of her face and she has nice eyes.

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 19:17

Her wide smile and teeth make her look friendly and fresh, veneers? Or hers? If veneers really well done.

Can botox do a smoothing thing rather than 'freezing' she could move forehead I noticed but yes, no visible expression lines? Profilho I think can give you that dewy look. I did book for a laser treatment for resurfacing, but very expensive and I am scared by it, sounded very industrial with downtime too and I would feel embarrassed by that and a bit vain.

I had 2 sessions. Can’t say I noticed a difference.

I do have Botox though. I can still move my forehead. I have it to a point where it reduces movement but not completely. Like in my 11s they still move but the fine lines I was developing there have gone.

I think Meghan is stunning and I do love her hair and make up, but I would bet money she had had something done even if it’s a bit of Botox. The vast majority of celebrities do. It’s really quite popular amongst the general population.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 17/12/2022 19:30

Daniel Martin, her makeup artist was with Dior when he did her wedding makeup.

He also has YouTube tutorials.

Wagsandclaws · 17/12/2022 20:29

I have just had profilo and I love it. Highly recommend!

I'm nearly 51 and use a Nars tinted moisturiser and finish with iconic london setting spray which has a sheen to it - it's not a brand I use but oh my goodness this stuff is bloody amazing.

I have Botox and fillers and have had a neck lift surgery a year ago as I had a super saggy neck after a 6 stone weight loss in my late 40's.

I do Actually wish I could get the balance right with the Botox as my forehead is probably too smooth and shiny and I can move it a little but not much.

Meghan looks sensational. Without makeup, she's a natural beauty but with it she's just gorgeous.

I loved her eye makeup, lips nice and neutral and strong eyes.

I can also recommend the Victoria Beckham Kajal. It was a game changer for me as when you apply it you can spread it around on your eyelid and it stays soft till it 'sets' then doesn't budge.

I've attached a couple of pics of me with makeup on for dh and my anniversary this week. It was dark but you can see it's quite shiny.

I think you can see the 'glow' that profilo I think has given me, a quick spritz of the iconic london setting spray and I'm the happiest at nearly 51 that I've ever been with my skin.

Daniel Martin is a brilliant make up artist and isn't coy ( as many other make up artists are) about his famous client.

@Wagsandclaws you look way younger than nearly 51 Shock

stevalnamechanger · 17/12/2022 20:39

The magic of Daniel Martin

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/12/2022 20:57

I get where your coming from. Without make up I look like a potato but 5 products and 3 minutes later I actually look half decent.
So weird

pocketvenuss · 17/12/2022 21:19

EspeciallyD · 17/12/2022 16:02

I don't think she's naturally beautiful but she has amazing skin and hair and her make-up is perfect. But she probably has the best skincare and make-up money can buy, the best hairdressers and make-up artists etc.

She's looked stunning far back in her early days on TV so it's not just expensive products. I think she's genetically blessed

pocketvenuss · 17/12/2022 21:24

@Greensky90
Meg is very attractive and you can see, having ethnic genes is probably why she is ageing well too a darker skin always ages well.
I'm going to assume you don't know better but calling someone 'ethnic' is really inappropriate. We are ALL of an ethnic group. Look up what ethnic means please. You mean 'not white'. Please say what you mean and don't call someone who isn't white 'ethnic'. Jesus weeps

Greensky90 · 17/12/2022 21:49

@pocketvenuss in all honestly I'm from a ethnic minority myself. I have only really heard the term ethnic to describe ethnic minority.

However if you are offended sorry.

HamBone · 17/12/2022 21:53

I'm going to disagree with a PP and suggest normal facials tailored to your skin, rather than Hydrafacials.

Having facials is my personal luxury and I ask for a membership to my favorite place as my joint Christmas/birthday present. I've had both types of facial and found that a 60-minute anti-aging or skin brightening one (I discuss the best fit with the therapist after she's taken a look at my skin) works wonders for me.

I tried Hydrafacials when they started offering them, but they didn't work as well.
I'm sure it entirely depends on your skin, at 48, mine's generally pretty good with a few fine lines. I know they must do something for me, as earlier this week, my DD (17) commented on how good my skin was looking (she didn't know I'd had a facial the week before). Believe me, when my critical teens give me a compliment, I know it's genuine. 😂

Re. Meghan's makeup. I agree that she's gorgeous and her makeup is great, but personally, I think she's sometimes abit heavy on the bronzer. But I'm then not generally keen on bronzer.

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 17/12/2022 23:32

There was an article in Hello! online last week which listed all her (apparently) favourite products.

Pinktruffle · 18/12/2022 00:01

Her wedding foundation was infact Dior - she used Dior face and body foundation. It prompted me to give it a go and it is now my favourite foundation by a country mile, however the packaging is crap.

PinkPanther57 · 17/12/2022 15:37

Are there any cosmetic treatments you can have to define face and make it look less potato like? (In my case)! :)

How much of a role does 'clean living' play is she/her mother largely teetotal I wonder? Yes, her mother looks incredible for her age and has an amazing figure, a great advert for Yoga. Does Meghan do yoga and have a strict gym regime? She seems to enjoy food, cooking the chicken etc (!) and doesn't have the vibe of the stereotypical Hollywood A lister who eats dust?

Her mother has an amazing core I noticed in the Doc. I was always envious back in The Tig days that she appeared to drink and party and yet maintain such a good figure? I could get away with it when young but after 25 I only needed to look at a carb to gain 5 pounds. She's not that tall either I think and that makes it harder. Imagine she has a chef etc?

@PinkPanther57 I really reccomend facial massage, either with just your hands (and any facial oil) or with a gua sha. It's made such a difference and turns my face from puffy potato to something more naturally contoured. I follow "lugevity.co" on Instagram for at home facial massage videos.

Mezmer · 18/12/2022 00:58

She really is extremely pretty!
