Morning! Lots to catch up on from yesterday, thanks for the new thread @Countmeout !

I commiserate with your boredom @snowyowl, It's tedious watching things just not move. I've got three returns that have just not shifted for over a week. I took my last return (the one that had all the check dresses) to the shop yesterday. It was worth it for the peace of mind and i must say i overcame my embarrassment and will keep this as an option in future. But whoever commented toward the end of the last thread about the good experience of Inbox, that's fab, sounds just as quick as returning it to the store!

Snowyowl78 · 14/12/2022 10:02

thanks for the new thread!

@dudsville I’ve messaged Royal Mail today to ask if they would now qualify as ‘lost’ as it’s been over 2 weeks now!

@saurus72 good to know about Inpost- I am going to try it out!

TerrierOrTerror · 14/12/2022 10:08

Commenting so I don't loose this new thread!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/12/2022 10:13

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout .
If RM carry on like this I can see the next Toast sale being even worse for deliveries.

Countmeout · 14/12/2022 10:17

RM seems very uneven in their deliveries. I have all my Toast items but still haven’t got the material I ordered from eBay to make nativity cloaks and time is swiftly running out.
I’m not sure how returns are fairing. Must check where they are.

and yes it does make you wary of the future sale.

OP posts:
Countmeout · 14/12/2022 10:21

Very uneven. The item I posted on 7th is not as far along the system as the one I posted on the 12th! Neither showing as having reached their destination yet.

I’ve got one which has been in Swansea since 29th Nov! I am wondering if it’s actually lost amongst the chaos.
now the excitement of the sale is basically over I’ve totted up what I’ve spent and starting thinking that I need to be a lot stricter with what I buy in the sale. A few items that I buy out of sale excitement could fund one full price thing that I really really want but veto on price.
Maybe RM have done me a favour!

for the next sale I am making a wish list and if stuff is not on it then I’m not buying it. (Probably)

Marking place Grin

Gonegrey31 · 14/12/2022 10:51

Thanks for the new thread . I’m also awaiting two parcels that are stuck in Swansea , two weeks now groan . It’s so disappointing as these are gifts I’d hoped to send on for Christmas.

Snowyowl78 · 14/12/2022 12:54

Anyone got these? www.toa.st/products/alix-cotton-linen-trousers-slate

intersted to know about sizing. I have the indigo ones in a 10 and the cinnamon or potentially the ochre (unsure as from Vinted) in a 12 so wondering if they are on the larger or smaller side. Always buy Gabis in a 12.

Very tempted to order them via courier, they are fantastically expensive but my brain is telling me they are the missing link in my wardrobe :) I also don’t think they will go into the sale.

dudsville · 14/12/2022 12:58

I was feeling so sick at the thought that RM had not processed one of my three returns properly that I couldn't bear to check. This was done on December 3rd, I finally had a look again this morning. Two have been sitting in Swansea for a while, but the one not processed correctly is at least now showing as STILL sitting in my local PO. Honestly I'm just relieved they now show as having it.

That's a real shame about the gifts @Gonegrey31. I saw those trousers in the shop yesterday @Snowyowl78 and I really liked the feel of them but I didn't try anything on.

faustina · 14/12/2022 13:28

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout
@Snowyowl78 - there is something about lost post on the Royal Mail site. I had to make a claim once and I think it has to be a month before you claim.

About the slate Alixes - I think you should try a 10 as the ochre ones were suddenly much much smaller than the previous season (which included the slate)

Snowyowl78 · 14/12/2022 14:11

@faustina @dudsville thanks!

@faustina do you mean the 12 if the new ones come up small?

AmethystMoonShine · 14/12/2022 14:31

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout

Sorry to hear about all the stressful returns. I was greatly relieved that my return was refunded yesterday after I posted it last Tuesday… in fact I was rather shocked!

I wonder whether the next sale will still be affected by the strikes?

I’m always excited for a Toast sale but really don’t need anything. I will be trying to restrict myself to useful items I’ll use every day. I like the wool tencel thermal long sleeve tops but can’t face paying full price for them so hope there might be some in the sale this time 🤞🏼

ilovecherries · 14/12/2022 14:35

I’m on holiday in a very frozen Braemar. Routinely minus 15 at night and not going much above minus 10 by day. However a combination of merino under layers from Dillings and Toast jumpers are keeping me cosy. They really are the warmest jumpers I’ve ever had.

faustina · 14/12/2022 14:36

@Snowyowl78 the slate ones are from a previous season when they were much bigger than last summer's version which I have in ochre, so if it's the slate you're after, I'd try a smaller size? (my head's spinning a bit now - I think I have that the right way round?)

Snowyowl78 · 14/12/2022 14:52

Ahh thanks @faustina makes sense :)

Laska2Meryls · 14/12/2022 16:27

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout ..
I Didnt go to Toast Bath nor Shepton Mallet,( which I would have like to but because of snow we decided not to go down that way) but tbh I didn't want to buty anything and then maybe find that it ended up in the sale.. Bur did venture into both Cos and Uniqlo today.. bought some flannel PJ trousers from Uniqlo which tbh ( apart from internal finish and trim of course) are almost as good fabric weight - wise as my Toast ones from last year ( and significantly cheaper . I also bought some black satin harem type pants in their sale - which are a little big but at £9 I wont worry about altering.. TBH I always rate Uniqlo for simple, clean styles..
Cos has a fab yellow cashmere jumper which I will keep my eye on for their sale...
We are away a few more days yet and I am enjoying visiting real shops! 😀

Laska2Meryls · 14/12/2022 16:28

We are visiting family in the Watford area now .. bur train strikes mean a trip into town is out, sadly

Laska2Meryls · 14/12/2022 16:37

@AmethystMoonShine I saw some nice wool mix thermal tops in Uniqlo today, really quiet good I thought.. I have a couple of Toast 9nes and I would try the Uniqlo ones ..

Stoic123 · 14/12/2022 17:01

Checking into the new thread 👋

neveradullmoment99 · 14/12/2022 19:33

Also marking my place!😀

ScottishMouse · 14/12/2022 20:40

And me.

AmethystMoonShine · 14/12/2022 21:14

Thanks @Laska2Meryls I shall take a look 👍

AFingerofFudge · 15/12/2022 08:09

Also checking in! My original parcel is still in Swansea (do I sound like a cracked record?) but my return from the other order has made it back -using InPost for the first time- and has been refunded!
