I think @ilovecherries does. I may be wrong. Ive always wanted these but they have been continually out of stock. Now i'm tempted!

neveradullmoment99 · 16/12/2022 12:30

Ive had a loop jersey top before and I wouldnt say it is that soft. It kind of has a rough inner texture. These may be different though?

ZittiEBuoni · 16/12/2022 12:32

Hi, sorry to crash your thread, but I'm going to be in Shepton Mallet area tomorrow and wanted to ask if the Toast outlet there is worth a look? As in, proper reductions (and all the lovely velvet/cord stuff in stock), not a few quid off? Thanks :).

ScottishMouse · 16/12/2022 13:05

Hmmm, I see what you mean @neveradullmoment99 I hadn’t looked at the size conversions. But I would say I am a standard high street 12, so s/m is spot on for me.

Stoic123 · 16/12/2022 13:21

@Saurus72 - I have those trousers in Ecru.

Good points - material is soft enought to be comfortable but robust enough to withstand positions on knees etc. Also not restrictive.

Bad points- depends how gentle a session. Legs would flap around quite a bit/get in the way if leg is raised at all. I would probably find this quite irritating.

Stoic123 · 16/12/2022 13:23

@Saurus72 - I use these and would pick them in preference to my Toast jersey ones.

Saurus72 · 16/12/2022 13:39

@ZittiEBuoni I’ve been twice to the outlet - on my first visit I didn’t buy anything and on my 2nd I bought a dress that I regret! There are decent reductions, there are also some samples. For me, I find that if it’s in the outlet, it’s already been in the sale and so I either already have it or I haven’t bought it in which case I most likely don’t need it.

I know others on this thread have had successful trips though.

Saurus72 · 16/12/2022 13:40

Thanks for the feedback on the trousers - @Stoic123 the ones you linked to look delicious 😊

ZittiEBuoni · 16/12/2022 14:25

Ah, ok, thanks Saurus72, probably nothing I haven't already seen in the sale then. Might not bother this time around (busy day anyway).

Countmeout · 16/12/2022 15:23

it will be interesting to see how the sizing pans out. My daughter was interested a a couple of items when we were in a shop but she wears a 4-6 and everything would have drowned her. I’m sorry the new items hadn’t appeared then.
Some of the dresses @neveradullmoment99 come in separate sizes 4-18. I suppose that might be a bit bettter.

Did anyone see Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas the other night? Someone taking part was wearing the Toast textured marl tank in green and a possibly mul mul shirt, not this years I think but the one with the red trim. I wondered if it was any of you. She made beautiful Christmas decorations.

@ZittiEBuoni ive been twice and enjoyed my trips, they have a mix of current season on one side of the shop and then sale and sample on the other. I bought some homewear sample napkins for £5 each which were a great find, and some sale clothing bits which I haven’t worn much yet but mainly because it was the end of summer. They had quite a lot of samples in nightwear which I considered but then didn’t buy as I don’t really wear gowns etc. I would say it’s worth it for the samples but they are mainly small sizes. That said I don’t know if they always have that many sample or if it’s seasonal.

I also got over excited and spent a small fortune on the current season. Was good to try on stuff as normally I only buy on line. Is pretty chilled there and parking is easy so would probably be my preferred shop anyway, albeit they probably don’t have a bigger range of current season as they would have in a normal shop.

ilovecherries · 16/12/2022 17:00

I have them, and don’t see why not. They are quite big though. Mine are a small, and I am not. Every time I wear them, I mutter ‘ridiculous price for a pair of cropped trackie bottoms’ but I have worn them loads (got mine during lockdown) and love them.

QueenJaineApproximately · 17/12/2022 00:12

Thanks for the new thread @@Countmeout 😀

Saurus72 · 17/12/2022 07:30

Thanks @ilovecherries , will wait to see if they go into the sale…

dudsville · 17/12/2022 09:10

I was taking a look on Toast last night and musing. Firstly, "window shopping" is a new phenomenon for me of this year, when I used to shop at cheaper shops i would actually make purchases. Every new year i sit down and go over the previous year's accounts. I expect to see a change.

I plan to buy the workwear denim skirt this year if it doesn't go into the next sale. I also like a few new things, but most would need a 50+% discount for me to contemplate purchasing. On the flip side, I've noticed that there's only one purchase this year that doesn't get the use i thought it would, so I'm pleased with the choices I've made this year overall.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 17/12/2022 16:31

I've just dug out my Pintuck textured skirt from last years December sale, its been ideal to wear today with a pair of thin leggings and some sheepskin boots.

Looking through my Toast purchases, the only thing I haven't worn is a white shirt, which is really annoying as I had wanted a decent white shirt for a long time .
I also have a couple of Vinted purchases that are out-of-season so haven't been worn.

I do, however, have several pieces that I've only worn once; assuming we do have a sale soon I think I must be a lot more thoughtful over what I buy.

faustina · 17/12/2022 20:08

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - is there something about the white shirt that you aren't keen on? I don't wear white shirts myself but the Kin ones always seem to have brilliant reviews - perhaps worth a look?

I've been much more considered in what I've bought from Toast this year, Partly because of the prices and partly because my wardrobe is so full! I really have very few gaps now.

I did buy something as an experiment today though - the mens cashmere has gone on sale at John Lewis and I bought a men's cardigan last year which has been wonderful for wearing at home - they have some nice looking Breton stripe jumpers so have ordered a s and m to try. it's so much better quality than the women's cashmere. Still £100, but worth it for something good.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 17/12/2022 20:28

It’s a great shirt @faustina I just don’t put it on because I think it will get marked, so I keep saving it for when I don’t think it will get marked, which appears to be never. I’m beginning to wonder why I ever wanted a white shirt.

I've also got a cream Barbour jumper which is subject to the same thought process Blush .

faustina · 17/12/2022 20:33

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - savingitforbest syndrome! I'm trying very hard not to do that nowadays

Men's jumpers can be so much nicer than women's if they're right - funnily enough, there's a pic of a JL (male) stylist wearing it, and almost everything else he's wearing with it is from the women's dept.

AFingerofFudge · 17/12/2022 23:00

https://www.jonesarnhem.com/toast
Just wondering if some of the stuff on here has appeared on the Toast website already??? I would start my research but
I have to be up at 6am for work so I'll leave it to someone who is off Xmas Grin

dudsville · 17/12/2022 23:24

I had a white shirt thing this year. Thought i needed it for layering. Tried the toast easy one, didn't get on with it, bought a Thought one that was really fine but i never choose it. Turns out the toast off white or natural cotton tees do what i need for layering, but I've got the thought blouse for back up when i need a crisper look!

In other news, I'll never not be excited about and counting down to a sale. We could be 5 or 6 days away!

Snowyowl78 · 19/12/2022 10:27

in case anyone is looking at toast blankets, I have discovered that most of them are by a company called Klippan, and sold considerably cheaper here:
nordicnest.com

and with more pics!

faustina · 19/12/2022 12:41

@Snowyowl78 - very useful link - thank you!

Tapping my foot waiting for the first person on the forum to find the secret sale has started. Mind you, the only thing I want that could be in the sale has sold out (wool cashmere mariner), and the other thing is brand new so won't be discounted (blundstone lug boots)

Snowyowl78 · 19/12/2022 19:13

SALE!
