So do I have to get one thing of my beauty box and put it in the car?

Greywhippet · 17/01/2023 18:39

My first box! Quite disappointed with two cleansers and a hand cream but nicely surprised by the car air freshener! Very random

MidnightMeltdown · 17/01/2023 18:53

OMG this is hilarious! I can't believe that they put a car air freshener in there! 😂

I don't drive! Maybe it can be used to freshen my kitchen bin?? The perfume is terrible too 😂

I don't agree that the boxes are free^^ when you have to spend £20 per month to get them. I could be paying that £20 per month into my savings account and earning 7%! I only signed up for the advent calendar discount. I might cancel as I feel that they're taking the pee a bit.

The hand cream looks ok but I don't really need one.

Hotdogsforsale · 17/01/2023 19:07

Really happy with this box again, trying new cleansers is my thing. Kind of annoyed though as by the time the box is due, I always start thinking about cancelling. Then it arrives and I change my mind!

Pigtailsandall · 17/01/2023 19:11

This is my first box too - a friend recommended it and I'm planning on saving the credit for Christmas sales, or buying a perfume.

I was actually happy to get 2 cleansers. I'm forever on the lookout for the perfect one, and I travel a lot so small sizes work great. Serum looks good too, but I felt a hand cream is a bit meh. I don't have a car so the air freshener is a bit useless- I have diffusers in the bathrooms. I'm a little undecided on the perfume. It smells v strong but not wholly unpleasant. Think I'm just not used to wearing any.

I guess I expected the items to be a bit bigger but maybe that was unrealistic

Metabigot · 17/01/2023 19:15

Cancelled as was mega un impressed with the box this month. Bought a lovely dinny hall sufragette gemstone necklace with the credit saved though so that cheered me up.

Liberty seriously need to up their game with these - I'm out!

alwayscheery · 17/01/2023 19:24

Sadly my air freshener
Is missing from my box, I am very disappointed.
Hand cream is pleasant and the two cleansers are really lovely.
Perfume is a bit manly but not unpleasant.

wheresmyshoe · 17/01/2023 19:28

I'm happy with everything in the box. The perfume is far better on DH than me so donated sideways. I absolutely love the air fresheners, bonkers but fab, installed in bathroom. The previous fig one was beautiful. Small lovely cleansers are brilliant for travel, ditto the serum, I travel a lot for work and hate lugging heavy luggage.
I love shopping at Liberty, love their sales and whilst I can sadly no longer buy the spectacular Roebuck 2014 English sparkling wine online I'm never short of options on which to spend my credit. For me the boxes are a lovely no cost thing to look forward to.

I guess weigh up getting £9 interest after a year vs getting 4 drop boxes…I know what I’d rather have!

The boxes are free unless you were never going to buy anything from Liberty and are now forced to spend £240 on crap you don’t need

mumonthehill · 17/01/2023 19:34

For those of you unsure on the air freshener, visit the website as each scent has a play list, bit of fun and might soften the blow of getting one a bit! www.dsanddurga.com/playlists

MidnightMeltdown · 17/01/2023 19:44

I'm using the full size of the Barbara Sturm serum at the moment and it is nice, but it's just a hyaluronic acid. Packaging up 3ml of hyaluronic acid in a glass bottle and miniature box is insane!

One of the cleansers is an ok travel size and the hand cream is a fair size, but I think that the other items are ridiculous. It's just a waste of packaging.

FredaFox · 17/01/2023 19:50

Got mine today, also got musk which smells like an old woman, nope not for me
I've had a few perfumes in calendars and the like recently and I'm finding I don't like that many of them. Is it me?!

MidnightMeltdown · 17/01/2023 19:52

@WeAreBorg

Hmmm... I may give it one last go and if the next one is bad then I'll cancel. To be fair, I have spent the credit, but I probably wouldn't have spent it if I was paying it into my bank account instead of to Liberty!

The exception is the advent calendar, which I really liked this year. I may get it again next year, but obviously it all depends on the contents!

WeAreBorg · 17/01/2023 20:00

Embarrassingly, it has taken me about 30 minutes to work out how to fold the box so the print is on the the outside
maybe I should spend less on beauty and more on some kind of brain training

Pinenu · 17/01/2023 20:04

@MidnightMeltdown what discount do drop members get for the AC?

Ugh why am I asking 😂 I told myself I’d cancel and had already decided I wouldn’t get the AC but one mention of a discount and I’m drawn back in.

Pigtailsandall · 17/01/2023 20:05

Ah I take back my rumblings about a hand cream being a boring item - it smells wonderful. A very different experience to rubbing in a bit of Avene every night. I'm already thinking I might buy more.

Husband recoiled at the smell of the perfume so guess that's out.

Can you use your banked credit in person too as well as online?

But even with a good rate of 7% it still means you’re only ‘paying’ £4.20 a box which I think is pretty good value.

MonsoonMadness · 17/01/2023 20:14

Where on earth can you get 7 percent?!

supadupapupascupa · 17/01/2023 20:17

Enjoying my box. The car freshener made me smile, and why not hey?
Will pass over the perfume as it's quite masculine to me. (Although the scent has lingered and sweetened over a couple of hours)
Very pleased to try the cleansers as I'm searching for one that suits my skin.
Always happy to try a hand cream.
Not bothered about the serum.

redredwineub40 · 17/01/2023 20:27

Yes my Ou perfume has faded to a nice smell over time, i can't think I'd spend so much on a perfume but glad I got it.

I've had a lot of perfumes in the Harvey Nicols advent and GWP and a lot haven't been unmissable

AnSionnachGlic · 17/01/2023 20:32

Love the idea of a beauty box, but do any Republic of Ireland know if they post to Ireland? I know they post regular cosmetics here but can't find info on Beauty Boxes.

PacificState · 17/01/2023 21:04

Odd box. I (almost) literally have free hand creams coming out of my ears and I only ever use Working Hands so that one can be donated onwards. Similarly flipping Barbara Sturm and her hyaluronic acid, which does nothing for me at all - this is the third one I have to add to my collection. Leave me alone Babs. Two cleansers are pretty useless for me because I use almond oil as a cleanser. And I got the Bruno perfume and it smells kind of skanky even through the packaging, so I'm not spraying that anywhere near me.

But I bloody love the car freshener 😂

Milany · 17/01/2023 21:19

I put the car freshener in the outside bin. It was far too strong and giving me a headache.

I opened the bin this evening and all I could smell was the freshener, not the normal stinky old cat poo smell that normally greets me.

I wish I'd stuck it to the bin lid rather than throw just throw it in! It makes an excellent poo disguiser!

Lol @PacificState I'll swap my car freshener to your hand cream 🤣🤣

PomRuns · 17/01/2023 21:26

Too funny @PacificState
Barbara is turning into the new Margaret Dabbs
