Thanks @Laska2Meryls

Countmeout · 03/10/2022 16:24

Thanks @Laska2Meryls . Love your project.

Re the green Cos coat I love it and may try. Still trying to justify a woollen coat to myself.
I was in Massimo Dutti today (am away currently) and they also have a green coat quite like the Toast one. I tried it on but difficult to judge in 27 degrees. Felt really heavy but probably a great winter coat, May slightly more formal looking than I would want.

ilovecherries · 03/10/2022 16:25

Checking in even though I’m still on a self imposed spending ban, and am becoming mildly obsessed with the home display on the smart meter.

Laska2Meryls · 03/10/2022 16:27

And Hooray!! Toast have refunded me for the Hemp trousers that I bought full price which had then appeared in the sale on the very last day that I could have sent the original ones back .
I had to wait until we got home from our Scottish trip and then sent them back over a week late , so I did wonder if they would refuse them ...
Thanks postal strikers ! I think that they may have refused otherwise...

Just marking the page🙂👍

Stoic123 · 03/10/2022 19:29

Thanks @Laska2Meryls

👋to everyone on new thread

AFingerofFudge · 03/10/2022 19:31

Thanks @Laska2Meryls for starting a new thread. I am also on a self imposed spending ban as I have rather overdone it over the last few months at Toast. But I am looking forward to getting my winter wear out, which includes the orange cord dress I bought at the start of summer but has been to warm to wear.

faustina · 03/10/2022 19:35

Thanks @Laska2Meryls - and I love your fabric thing!

@Countmeout that's a really wonderful colour, but I agree it's a bit more fitted that the Cos one. 27 degrees isn't the time to try things on like that.

My Cos jumper still hasn't arrived and it's now sold out on the site, but they have at least shipped it (ordered quite a few weeks ago). I've had several apologetic emails in the meantime. I wonder what happened?

@ilovecherries - I've also been eyeing my smart meter, but oddly it doesn't seem to have gone up by much. It's quite confusing!

Laska2Meryls · 03/10/2022 19:58

@Countmeout Are you in Italy? ( If so, big envy)

Laska2Meryls · 03/10/2022 20:03

Thanks @faustina . That patchwork sampler has been a few weeks work on and off during the summer - so definitely Slow Sewing..
I think it qualifies as Toast-type Creative Aesthetic! ( But Without having to engage with any random mushrooms🤣/)

Thanks for the new thread @Laska2Meryls and that's great news about the return, and your seeing project is really beautiful!

@faustina my cos jumper took nearly or about 2 weeks to arrive. I have no idea what that's about. Which one did you get? I've barely taken mine off.

I may try to pop in to a cos to check out that green coat.. i bought the orange tweed toast one last year. Most here didn't like the sleeves but i do love it. I worry that the green cos one would be easier to wear colour-wise and that i wouldn't therefore wear the orange one.

TheChattyRat · 03/10/2022 20:34

Thanks for the new thread @Laska2Meryls - and that sewing is lovely. Will be nice to see the finished product.
That cos coat is lovely 😍
I am also waiting for something from cos - a merino knitted dress.
All my queries about the oxford shirt were in vain - I got an email from toast cancelling the order due to inventory issue. Harumph!

faustina · 03/10/2022 20:38

I can't wait for mine to arrive @dudsville . It's this one

Toasties : Leafy walks and Winter woollies .. Autumn arrives!
dudsville · 03/10/2022 20:49

Ooh, I'm completely into the massively oversized jumper thing and that's widely fresh looking!

Oh no@TheChattyRat , but I bet they'll produce more, it's a popular item!

dudsville · 03/10/2022 20:49

Wonderfully, not widely!!!

Snowyowl78 · 03/10/2022 21:06

@Laska2Meryls good news about your return!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/10/2022 13:44

Thanks for the new thread @Laska2Meryls also loving your new project, looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

Talking of mushrooms, I was lucky enough to buy the mushroom dress on Vinted a couple of weeks ago, I absolutely love it so I have bought some thermal M&S pieces so I can wear it going in to winter.

TempleofZoom · 04/10/2022 14:34

Thanks for the new thread.
I went into a Toast shop today but left empty handed Sad
I wanted to see the Donegal sweater in the flesh, its nice but no way is it £245 nice.
Ditto the fairisle -very thin and £195
The cord and cashmere dresses are nice but thin for winter.
I liked the brushed back jersey trousers but at £155 nope!
The top is £95 so £250 for the set.

Apologies for the downer but there is nothing to justify these price rises.
Im happy to pay for good quality clothing and I still have a generous budget but Im not being taken for a ride.

So I ended up in Seasalt and bought the Braque Jumper in a blue called Hail .

50% wool 50% cotton £69.95 but had a £20 voucher from collecting stamps.

Love the sewing project @Laska2Meryls
Im just finishing a very long (started 2020) and complex sweater project.
Cant wait to start something new !

Geewhizzr · 04/10/2022 14:56

Has anyone seen the short cream cord jacket.. is it worth the pennies .. is it a nice cream ... i live nearly 2 hours from shops .. so i wd like opinion . Thanks .

dudsville · 04/10/2022 15:48

I agree @TempleofZoom . I wonder have if toast have nose dived right on the brink of the nation's cost of living crisis, putting themselves well above the high street shop.

In other news I went into a COS today. They didn't have The Green Coat, they did have some great jumpers that aren't on line yet. One was a black and white artsy/swirly/blob design that i really liked the look of but i didn't check the fabric content and it might not be nice.

Countmeout · 04/10/2022 16:02

No @Laska2Meryls , Spain.

No Cos where I am. I was hoping to try the green coat in grey for size. The green is only online @dudsville . Interestingly it’s €250 not £225 on the website (well it interested me 🤦‍♀️)

dudsville · 04/10/2022 17:01

Just by the by, has anyone tried the gabi-esque trousers from uniqlo? I know a lot on here like them and I wondered how the uniqlo ones compare.

The COS staff were busy when I was in so I didn't get a chance to ask them about the coat, but that makes sense @Countmeout.

faustina · 04/10/2022 19:26

@dudsville - haven't tried them but if you're ordering online they charge for returns (and for me that means an 8 mile drive to the nearest place that take them - can't remember if it's Yodel or Evri now)
