Happy birthday @Laska2Meryls . . What a lovely gift.

dudsville · 12/12/2022 13:57

Happy birthday @Laska2Meryls !!!!

dudsville · 12/12/2022 14:14

I've got £800 of returns with RM. I want to have faith that they'll catch up some time soon and nothing will get lost, but it's anxiety provoking!!!

Laska2Meryls · 12/12/2022 14:28

Its the birch one @faustina ..we areaway in Bath and its so cold I have been wearing it all day...

Happy birthday Laska enjoy Bath and the beret!

happysoju · 13/12/2022 03:36

Woohoo my order arrived! The beige cotton overalls were as expected (I have the same in navy)- I know it'll be a wardrobe staple seeing as I wear the navy so often.

The aster dress is a joy to look at. It's more feminine than what I usually wear, but it's just so pretty. I bought the 12 (I'm a toast 10) and it's loose but still fitted on my shoulders. I think the oversized fit looks more modern- I tried it with the waist tie and it was too retro for my taste.

Also the enamel cup was teeny tiny! Maybe good for an espresso but anything else you'd be refilling it every 3 sips!

@happysoju - that dress looks lovely on you! Also very cheering to see such a summery pic. It's minus 7 here this morning so thank you for reminding me what warmth looks like

Countmeout · 13/12/2022 08:55

That’s my favourite colour @Laska2Meryls .
The dress is beautiful on @happysoju . I’m envious of the weather too.

My Miller coat is pretty perfect. It can be my Christmas present to me. 😬 The fit is just right. I think I can wear it without the belt as I’m probably best not cinched in the middle. I think I’ll risk the balls. My other favourite Toast item (Mira sweater) balls like nobody’s business.

Im hoping there not a sale too soon as I’m all spent out.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/12/2022 09:03

Dress looks lovely on you @happysoju .

Waiting for my Floral Crepe dress, it’s with RM somewhere. Full price purchase, now wondering if I should have waited for the sale 🤔.

TerrierOrTerror · 13/12/2022 11:01

Still waiting on my sale purchase, it's been at my local delivery office for over a week.

ToastCosILoveIt · 13/12/2022 11:04

I returned the Japanese trousers, the two silk velvet dresses and a pair of jeans, all from the sale. I liked the dresses and the Japanese trousers but they didn't have the 'wow' factor on me and I need to love something as soon as I put it on to want to keep it.

Thanks to this thread I am now eyeing up the floral crepe dress and the beret anad also a teeshirt for my husband as part of his Christmas present.

Also avidly waiting for the sale but my purchases will (hopefully) be discerning.

Stoic123 · 13/12/2022 11:22

@Laska2Meryls - belates Happy Birthday

@happysoju - dress looks great and makes me long for warmer weather.

Final sales purchase, Cotton Linen Smock dress in Montella, was a winner. Colour enhanced utilty look - makes me feel like a handy mechanic in a good way (if that's possible?). Went to a shop to return stuff so that's my Toast sales adventures done (for now).

Snowyowl78 · 13/12/2022 11:50

@Stoic123 good to hear about the Montella smock, I’ve got that one stuck in Swansea. I’m bored of waiting for my parcels, wish I could just cancel 2 of them.

SnowyPheasants · 13/12/2022 17:58

Just want to add a data point to the thread - my pull on cord trousers arrived.
I have purchased from Toast many times over the years but never for trousers. All of the reviews I have read or advice I have been given led me to believe they were oversized, some people of my height (5'4) online suggested the legs were too wide, etc.

Er, no!
I am slim, average proportioned size UK8, so bought the 6. The waist is a tad nippy so not remotely oversized, I would say they are the most true to size trousers I have tried in years.
The legs are slim, neat and not baggy at all, with a nice cuff at the bottom. The cord feels mid weight and is lovely, a very gorgeous midnight blue (not green as a Toast review suggested) and they feel well made and warm.

The downside: Well the crotch is loooong. Who oh why? It is so long that the pockets at the back are at my kidneys as opposed to over the buttock. Just an inch of two lower and they would still high waisted, and with the elasticated feature it can give the impression of an adult babygro or a nappy.

Strangely enough, DP, who usually loves me in leggings and delicate girlie things said he loved them, that they were very nice on the bum and that the waist was attractive. Now either he, or I am starting to lose the plot, lol.

Hope this helps someone who is dithering about buying them. Just a few inches off the crotch length and they'd be the best cords ever.

SnowyPheasants · 13/12/2022 17:59

And don't size down!

Countmeout · 14/12/2022 07:57

Sorry I am in the size down camp, especially this years colour’s which are definitely a bit bigger and longer fit in the legs. I never noticed where the back pockets are , must check.but the cord is lovely and my 2 pairs are my most worn trousers this winter.

Countmeout · 14/12/2022 07:57

Colours 🤦‍♀️

Saurus72 · 14/12/2022 08:07

I’m reporting back about my experience with returning an order to Toast via InPost, it was really good!

You request your refund as usual from Toast and say you’re returning to an InPost locker. You can then look online to find your closest one and it also tells you locker size and availability.

When you get there you scan the Toast return QR code, a locker opens (you have the option to request a different size). You then close it, and you get an immediate proof of sending with a tracking link. Mine got picked up that day (Friday) it arrived at Toast on Monday and I had my refund yesterday. I think way better than RM with all the strikes/delays. Will definitely use them again.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/12/2022 08:36

@Saurus72 So pleased Inbox worked well for you. Looks like it’s another of those things that depends where you are in the country and how good the couriers are in your area. Still too far from me though, I’ll have to stick with RM.
