Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

I can't help but wonder if Camilla actually wanted to marry Charles or if she felt she had no choice but to? I have no doubt she loves him but at her age I'm sure a peaceful life as his "companion" would've been preferable.

Not many people know about The curse of the Koh-i-Noor diamond, which is why only women can handle it.

“Perhaps most interesting, however, is that the gem was believed by many to hold a curse. The curse has its origins in an old Hindu text; “He who owns this diamond will own the world, but will also know all of its misfortunes. Only God, or a woman, can wear it with impunity.”

Oh that’s really fascinating about the Koh-I-Noor and the curse. I have to admit that Royal jewels are not something I usually get excited about I was here following on from another thread “Goodbye Elizabeth II woman of style”as I’m very into vintage style, but I’m find in it really interesting about the history and stories behind the various jewellery.

September 22, 2022 The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg have enjoyed some quality time with three of their grandchildren, after an emotional visit to London for the Queen's funeral earlier this week.

Grand Duke Henri, 67, and Grand Duchess Maria, 66, were among the dignitaries and head of states of attended the late Monarch's funeral at Westminster Abbey, and her Committal Service in Windsor on Monday.

The couple, who arrived in London on Sunday ahead of the ceremony recovered from the emotional visit by taking their three grandchildren to an amusement park in Bettembourg.

There, they looked after Princess Amalia, eight, and Prince Liam, six, the children of Prince Felix, and the son of Crown Prince Guillaume, Prince Charles, two, as they fed animals and played with the plants on display.

Adorable pictures shared on Instagram revealed a glimpse of the grandparents' family day out, as the family puckered up to a fish and fed grapes to a red panda.

I think Anne just wants to be busy

NiqueNique · 22/09/2022 18:15

They are personally thanking those who were involved in HMQ’s funeral and processions. Which I think is lovely. But couldn’t it have waited another day or two?

I think for Anne it is very true that her work will help her not to fall apart too much. She seems the kind of character who would always choose to be busy.

Eaumyword · 22/09/2022 18:22

Lovely photos there @iloveredwine

I admire Anne for her energy and grit in getting on with the job. Good for her. I'd have needed a few more days off for sure.

NiqueNique · 22/09/2022 18:35

Ah yes a lovely day out!

European Royals with King Charles

Max and Daisy both sporting sophisticated dark red nails! Some interesting little peeks at Jewellery, hair and fashion in a more relaxed setting (the reception held on the eve before the funeral).

They're lovely images, they all look so kind and caring towards Charles!
The other pictures are cute, nice day out at the zoo!

For any of you with sea legs I found out the other day that Anne and Tim own a yacht we've always drooled over in this house a Rustler 44. We did buy a yacht at Ardfern but it was a lot smaller. Anne really is so practical

Love the pictures of little Prince Charles enjoying the zoo visit (and love his cute jumper!). One good thing about Charles now being King is no more confusion between the two Prince Charles!

I love the way you made your yacht-buying sound so run of the mill @justasking111!! 😆

frugalkitty · 22/09/2022 21:53

I thought of you lot today while I was looking through a book about the Queen while I was visiting my dad. I took a pic of this page and funny someone should mention Victoria's crown up thread, because I thought If no one has claimed it already that I could add it to my collection? It's not too flashy, won't compete with the sceptre and will make a nice change from the Spencer tiara for special occasions

I like the nails, I always think a nice mani/pedi would be an improvement for Kate.

Hello Royal S&B aficionados. Just nipping on to say thank you for the commentary and insights over the last couple of weeks. I've lurked (and occasionally commented) on these threads from the very first one, and they have been a little oasis of sanity amongst some of the more, er, batshit Royal threads that have popped up recently Grin

My contribution is this photo which appeared in my Facebook feed. I thought you might appreciate it (though it does seem familiar so maybe it's been posted before?)

Is it me, or do those Monarchs look like close relatives (which isn't a crazy notion given Queen Victoria's children going Euro!) The moustaches were clearly a fashion must!

I think Kate looks stunning in that photo, absolutely beautiful.

Does Kate wear bright coloured nail polish ? I know that the Queen only ever wore very pale pink and I think I read somewhere it’s some sort of etiquette for British royal ladies to do the same, is this still the case ? Im usually distracted by looking at Kate’s beautiful clothes and how nice her hair looks to notice her nails! I also think it’s a bit of a shame now that wearing gloves for formal occasions, as the Queen always did seems to be dying out.

Maireas · 22/09/2022 22:47

@FGSWhatNow - that's a great picture, I've seen it before, but not colourised.
WW1 ended the monarchies in much of Europe, didn't it?
I read that when Kaiser Wilhelm went into exile in the Netherlands he had a whole room for his uniforms!
