A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

In Zara’s case….

I felt the same about Sophie's hat. Her dress was lovely but the hat was just a little odd.

I think my favourite so far was the hat with the feathers that Lady Louise wore to Westminster Hall - apparently it was one that both Kate and Autumn Philips had worn previously.

Do they have a room of hats where they can all just go and choose something suitable? And who gets first dibs?!

I just switched on the tv again as the funeral cortège is marching through the countryside and as the hearse came alongside I had the urge to bless myself - it's what we well some of us do in Ireland if a hearse passes by.

I wonder who designed Kate and Meghan's ensembles? Catherine Walker for Kate? And Meghan wore a very similar dress in navy to an event before she married Harry that was, I think, Stella McCartney.

It's not particularly cold in London today but I suspect the Abbey is always several degrees chillier than outside.

I've found today really spectacular, and at times very moving. I can't fault a thing, including all the outfits.

All detail is completely planned so I'm certain George's blue suit is deliberate and meaningful. It's not as if they have to save up or don't have access to any clothes with just a phone call.

Oh, those spike stilettos always make me nervous. Slippery tiles, wet flagstones, cobbles - someone will come a cropper.
