A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

Apparently you can watch it on the BBC even if you don't have a licence as the funeral is an exception to the usual rules.

I know, I’ve been crying since she died on and off and I’m not even a massive royalist. It’s just that she was always there. I couldn’t watch Prince Philips funeral with the Queen sitting on her own that was so tragic.

The Queen at Prince Philip’s funeral was absolutely heartbreaking. As I said previously, the epitome of duty. She could have had special dispensation but she chose to suffer in exactly the same way as her people were suffering at the time. Hugely symbolic.

I find it interesting that the absolute rocks of the family - Sophie, Kate, Camilla are all so-called commoners who married in.

Yes definitely. All seems a bit pointless and sad now after the stuff about Boris partying came out but I think the Queen would have done what she considered the right thing regardless

Morning all. I'm watching on BBC1, feeling very weepy at this point, the pipes are just beautiful. Enjoyed watching everyone walking into the Abbey. Camilla looks fab.

I was expecting white flowers as well. These are beautiful and reflect some of the colours that The Queen seemed to favour in her outfits.

The pipes are playing a relatively jaunty tune compared to some I've heard at funerals. I'm guessing it's to keep the procession moving at a reasonable pace and not grinding to a halt.
