A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

Love Jacinda's dress - I'm guessing the feathery bit is a nod to Māori culture.

What coverage are you all watching? We don’t have terrestrial TV nor On demand, so I have to watch everything live streamed on YouTube. I’ve been watching the bands, soldiers and sailors preparing for the procession (the bagpipes marching with, I believe, the sailors who will pull the gun carriage was especially moving), but now I think I’d like to switch over and watch the arrivals to the Abbey in order to see some fashion and style...

LadyEloise1 · 19/09/2022 10:31

Jacinda Arden looking very well. Her dp looking very handsome too.

LadyEloise1 · 19/09/2022 10:31

I've noticed a fair few of the ladies wearing brooches, like a little personal tribute.

Yes, I love that.

Love Jacinda's pencil dress under her Māori stole. Not sure what it's called

Yes lovely. I'm warming to her almost...

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 19/09/2022 10:35

BBC1 for me. Huw is a steady pair of hands and it just feels right.

I lost myself earlier at the pipes.

Today I think I might weep myself dry.

NiqueNique · 19/09/2022 10:35

Sadly I don’t have i player (I don’t think! Let me check...).

I’d heard that BBC coverage of the Queen’s cortège procession in Scotland wasn’t great and that Sky was much better. How has it been so far? I don’t like a lot of commentary if it’s just inane waffle. A little bit of relevant detail here and there, but mostly I like to watch the actual event or occasion take place (especially when it’s a solemn and sombre affair).

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 19/09/2022 10:36

Oh the bairns …

derxa · 19/09/2022 10:37

Fergie!!!

Maireas · 19/09/2022 10:37

Sarah Ferguson invited. All the Gloucesters and Kents extended family.

@SheldonesqueTheBstard yes the pipes were very haunting for me - they always really affect me. The lone piper especially. 😔

I do usually like Huw’s style of commentary so I think I will start there.

paradyning · 19/09/2022 10:38

Who was holding Princess Alexandra's hand??

KillingMeDeftly · 19/09/2022 10:38

Gosh I hadn't seen Marina Ogilvy in years, she looks very much like her mother and grandmother now. I saw the Chatto boys but not their mother yet.

KillingMeDeftly · 19/09/2022 10:38

@paradyning I assumed it was Marina.

You don’t need up iplayer unless you want to watch later. You can watch directly on BBC website
