Oh well done @Fraaahnces lots of luck in your new role.

@OchonAgusOchonOh @CherryMargo I think everyone is doing great 😊 it doesn’t really matter how long it takes.

A couple more empties from
holiday:
Clarins cleansing oil. It was good but super facialist is cheaper and better.

philip Kingsley elasticer, so good on postvswim hair.

white company sample - did not really like, over fragranced.

204/120
12 samples

not S&B related at all, but I witnessed sone awful behaviour yesterday. A dad swearing and being really aggressive with his I assume DD. It was so awful that I intervened, he started swearing at me and his wife told him to walk on then informed me I had no idea what had happened. I said it was totally unacceptable to behave like that. I feel so bad for this poor child. I wish I could do something. Maybe the school are aware. We’ re still on holiday so not sure I can do anything else really. I spoke to the little girl to check she was ok.

sorry off loading ☹️

Sorry duplicate posts - will try and get 2 removed.

Fraaahnces · 01/09/2022 19:59

@PomRuns - good for you!!! I wished that some adult would recognize my situation at home and say something when I was little.

PomRuns · 01/09/2022 20:10

I wish they had too @Fraaahnces thankful you have happier times now.

I’m so bothered by it- the mum was excusing his vile behaviour 😢 I was shaking with anger. I doubt he took anything on board. That poor child - I hope things improve for her

CherryMargo · 01/09/2022 23:46

@PomRuns thank you! 😊🤗

@Experiment627 I hope the shampoo will work its magic on your hair! 😉

@Fraaahnces best of luck with your new role! If you have a profile on Glassdoor maybe name and shame (anonymously) the previous employer so others know it is not worth applying for jobs with them. And I'm so sorry about the situation at home when you were a child Flowers Parents' home should be our safe place not a place where we're abused, unfortunately, many of us have experienced the latter 😢

Here are my very humble August empties:

  1. milk_shake Curl Passion Shampoo (10 ml; £1.49) – a pearlescent white shampoo with the pina colada scent. It made my hair so squeaky clean that I managed to survive seven days without washing my hair after using it 😮

  2. milk_shake Curl Passion Conditioner (10 ml; £1.49) – a thick white cream conditioner with the pina colada scent. It was OK but did nothing special for my 2A curls.

  3. Nivea Indulging Honey In-Shower Body Moisturiser (9 ml; GWP) – it expired in November 2015 🤮 It was a thick white cream which smelled of milk and honey. The scent didn’t go off or completely evaporated like it happened to my Yves Rocher Aloe Vera Pulp Dry Skin Moisturizing Lotion (I presume thanks to much harsher preservatives that Nivea adds to its products). It made my skin incredibly soft and silky, so I would highly recommend this body cream to anyone with dry skin and who doesn’t mind having to wash their body lotion off as an extra step in their shower routine. Also, if you’re a true hoarder, please make note that this cream was awesome even after seven years past its expiry date! 😮 However, I’d like to also say that I do not condone the use of such old products, so don’t take it as any form of advice please 🛑

  4. DOLCE & GABBANA Dolce Eau de Parfum (1.5 ml; GWP) – the batch code says it was manufactured in December 2013 🤢 So my sample was one of the first sample bottles of this fragrance ever made, as it was released a month later, in January 2014. By the time I got to use this sample, a third of the bottle had evaporated, so technically I used up only 1 ml of it. On the packaging it said ‘use within 6 months after opening’. I think it was the first time I saw such a short expiry date for eau de parfum.

I believe this perfume is still available in shops but I doubt I will be purchasing a full size anytime soon. It is not that I didn’t like it, I guess it is just a bit too mature for me. I will revisit it in 15 years or so, if they still make it by then.

  1. Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Eau de Toilette (0.7 ml; GWP) – this fragrance was launched in April 2014, and I received this sample around that time 😬 It is a very youthful summer scent (top note is apple, middle note is Provence rose, base note is cedarwood) with a rather weak staying power. I didn’t like it enough to purchase a full size, but it was discontinued in 2019 anyway.
Fraaahnces · 02/09/2022 00:43

@CherryMargo I see your point, but don’t want to burn any bridges because there is a bit of a small-town mentality in the very large city I live in. I am studying nursing atm and it has been a great insight into some of the issues facing the healthcare situation where I live. I have reported some specific issues to our governing body anonymously, and gently informed others that this is available to them.

PeloDramatic · 02/09/2022 00:49

Forgot to post my last lot of empties

Really impressive work @PeloDramatic! I love the scent of mustela products! (But need more intensive/oily products on my lizard legs these days.)

Fraaahnces · 02/09/2022 03:12

Three empties… they’re not overly exciting though. First was Trilogy Vitamin C Booster Treatment. I love this and have been using it for years. If you want a potent glow-up, this is your guy. It is a very liquid essence which is only activated when you pop the lid containing vitamin c powder into it and give it a quick shake. It’s dissolved entirely and almost instantly, which isn’t remotely gritty or stingy at all. It is a tiny bottle because it is a two week treatment. It oxidized very quickly after that. I add some of The Ordinary Niacinimide powder to it as well for an extra boost. Next was another Curel Foaming Cleanser. Love it. Has been a staple for a long time. Trying Cerave SA cleanser to get more of a glow and gently decongest a bit before Spring kicks in. (Will probably be 30’c by the end of September. Ugh!) Then the last one I’m sad about. A perfume I blind bought at the Chemist. It cost me the equivalent of about £5. It comes in a really pretty orange glass bottle too. It’s Monotheme Verde d’Arancia. A dead-ringer for the Hermes Eau d’Orange Verte which I love to wear to work or in the summer for a tart, fresh, clean scent that lingers and isn’t offensive to patients. Very much doubt I can get it again for that bargain price.

Thought I would share with you all what I ordered when I quit my job and justify this to myself…
Tocobo & Abib Sun Sticks. (Sunscreen for handbag…) Beauty of Joseon Eye Cream - gentle retinol for around eyes, Ceramide Mist - just soothing, moisturizing and my skin loves these things, VC Shot ampoule is a giant 100ml Vitamin C serum. (Makes sunscreen more effective and it also helps with pigmentation.)
Then from the other order, two different cushion foundations. One has more coverage than the other. Laneige Cream Skin set. This stuff is bloody lovely. Liquid moisturiser in a bottle. Great for glow. Clio Kill Lash Mascara (long curling) because it’s bulletproof and it’s going to be humid here very shortly.
Justifications here:- I rarely wear foundation, but will be doing so when I go on practical placements. Need something that travels well. My current foundation is many years old, probably off and the wrong colour. Also too thick. That justifies the cushions.
I am almost finished my current ceramide mist. I can refill that bottle with the Laneige Skin Refiner which will make it last forever. The other ceramide mist is a smaller bottle for travel.
VC Shot Ampoule is to replace the Melano C one I am currently using. I have one left which I will use when travelling as it is in a small tube. The ampoule is a giant glass bottle and wouldn’t travel well.
Sunsticks are for reapplying sunscreen. They’re easier to carry in bags and when travelling than liquids. (Also don’t count if I am going with only carry-on luggage.)

PeloDramatic · 02/09/2022 10:00

@Fraaahnces that perfume is £22 from M&S Smile so not tooo hefty

Fraaahnces · 02/09/2022 10:11

Thanks @PeloDramatic I have discovered that the Chemist I purchased it from originally has it for $24Aud. They frequently have half price sales and I will order then. Also interested in the lemon blossom one!

PeloDramatic · 02/09/2022 10:15

I have one I love but not sold any more, it's this one. Really sharp lemon

Amazeballs progress & reviews @CherryMargo

You NEVER have to justify yourself to us @Fraaahnces

I have one empty:

  • Fushi really good hair oil: causes a complete oil slick whenever I apply but actually quite nice before bed as I like how it smells... kind of like a tropical island smell if that makes sense. I will not RP but nice whilst it lasted.

Ooh I think I need to be on here…! Religiously trying to work through a seemingly never ending stash from advent calendars then got suckered into the Liberty Beauty drop 🤪

Not quite got the hang of tagging? But to the poster with fine hair…I share your pain.

recently discovered Aveda Thickening Tonic which is great and doesn’t seem to weigh my hair down.

And I’m just trying a bottle of Pantene Lift n volume thickening shampoo and it’s a revelation! Fed up of trying expensive brands that don’t seem to make any difference. But this is great so far and I’ve gone from having to wash every day to even lasting 3 if I need to.

Shameless spamming

Zeeza · 02/09/2022 18:12

Careful, my tweet saying that was deleted quicker than the spiced pork and ham.

Naughty me. I didn't think I was rude either.

Mistletow · 02/09/2022 18:33

I've found my people. Just finished a CT pillow talk lashes Mini Mascara. Love it, will repurchase but again in the mini. It has a knack to it but really seperates the lashes and lengthens them. Also finished the Rimmel CC cream. A beautiful coverage CC cream that sits lovely on the skin and cheap as chips.

Experiment627 · 02/09/2022 19:09

Welcome @CurlyFerret and @Mistletow !!!

@Zeeza am dying to know what your deletions were about! @MidnightMeltdown were you spamming or was someone else? 🧐

Thanks for the CC cream tip @Mistletow - I may just give that a whirl!
