Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

We have been going since at least 2015 - jump on board!

2 more empties to report:

  1. Olaplex bonding hair oil No.7 - absolute pants, won’t buy again.

  2. Charles Worthington Shine Booster - didn’t look any shinier and made my hair lanky.

I’ve managed to empty about 7 bottles on holiday, but not reached my objective as I’ve loads of midgie bites and my body lotion and face cream/scrub/ mask is making the ones on my face 😭

Experiment627 · 22/08/2022 11:23

That sounds painful @IHateHeatWaves! Hopefully it eases up soon!

Is it really bad that I’m now going to ask for beauty product recommendations on another thread?
😜

Experiment627 · 22/08/2022 11:28

Hope you get some good advice @IHateHeatWaves

Thank you for the new thread.

AJ Sturnham Decree SOS revitalising mask. From GWP/advent/beauty box

These are £20 each on Cult Beauty.

It was lovely, my skin looked great but def not a rebuy at that price! It's 88% rose water, I may try using rose water on a cotton pad.
I have 12 masks of various sorts left.

Well I'm eyeing up advent calendars, despite not having used up all of last year's advent calendar products 🙈

It's only August though right? We still have a full 3 months before advent calendar opening begins.

I'm going to try to reach my 125 product empties target before 1st Dec!

IHateHeatWaves · 22/08/2022 14:11

I’m staying well away from non chocolate advent calendars this year.

MidnightMeltdown · 22/08/2022 14:24

You have more willpower than me @IHateHeatWaves

Alas, I think 'fewer advent calendars than last year' is the best I can hope for.

I have made a significant dent in the stash though and will have some more empties post shortly.

Experiment627 · 22/08/2022 19:33

@MidnightMeltdown sometimes when I get more than one advent, I start opening earlier.... there was the year I had 5 🙈🙈🙈

May i join.
Just came back from the shops unintentionally with a charlotte tilbury lip liner and gloss. I only went to the opticians to get my glasses fixed unfortunately the only one open late is in the shopping mall and my feet walked me to the beauty counter in selfridges after my appointment.

I got the lip cheat in Berry Naughty and the gloss in Unleash Me. Nice Berry tones for Autumn not too dark.

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 22/08/2022 19:42

How have I never happened across this thread before?

Today I’ve purchased a Murad SPF45 and some Superfacialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 22/08/2022 20:01

Checking in!

Experiment627 · 22/08/2022 21:00

@Metabigot I love how your feet walked you over to a beauty counter 🤣🤣🤣 Welcome!

@WeThreeKingsofOrientAre welcome! I would really like to know if that oil is any good.

@Experiment627 the cleansing oil is a repurchase. About my 5th or 6th time I think. It’s £12 in supermarkets for the 200ml but I often see it in TK Maxx for about £5. I use it as a first cleanse. It smells wonderful and a 50p sized splash gets all my make up and spf off. I use a gel or milk cleanser for my second cleanse. I would definitely recommend.

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 22/08/2022 21:10

I actually find all of the Superfacialist cleansers very effective and good value for money (i.e. the Rose cream one is also a favourite).

I have been using the horrendously priced dermalogica pre cleanse so looking for an oil cleanser that doesn't break the bank.

Have also tried the bobbi brown soothing oil which is also horrendously priced but a much bigger bottle than dermalogica so lasts longer.

Dermalogica is excellent quality but so expensive!

MidnightMeltdown · 22/08/2022 21:44

@Experiment627

I had 5 last year Blush so I haven't set the bar very high for myself!

Even 4 would be less than last year, but I'll try not to buy that many Grin

Fraaahnces · 23/08/2022 04:27

Wow! New thread is going off like a frog in a sock! Well done @Experiment627! reporting two empties… VDL Lumilayer Primer - a lovely primer that you honestly don’t know you’re wearing. It has an opalescent glow that is subtle enough to wear alone (and I do.) I already replaced. The other is Fenty Body Sauce in Pearl (the lightest shade.) I wear this alone in summer or mixed with the VDL in winter. I haven’t worn foundation since. (Can’t feel that one either. Doesn’t look “makeuppy” at all, and the bottle is huge!!! Also lasts all day.)These two are my secret weapons. Will repurchase the Body Sauce soon as our five minutes of winter are nearly over.

Experiment627 · 23/08/2022 08:18

@WeThreeKingsofOrientAre thanks! I will definitely look to trying out! I currently have a stash of Lacura, which I will probably start in the next 10 days or so...

@MidnightMeltdown well if they bring you joy...
I am thinking two this year for me

LOL 🤣🤣🤣 a frog in a sock eh @Fraaahnces 🐸 🧦😵‍💫

I really like this. It's very nourishing. Not the biggest of tubes so didn't last terribly long.

I've just realised I'm way slower at using things up than the rest of you. Since January, I've gone through 53 items in travel/delux/full sizes and 10 samples. I obviously need to up my game.

I really like that ultra repair cream, it's a brilliant moisturiser for winter walking, I wonder if I still have some....
