Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I know I have way way too much but I just love beauty products so much. I do give to family and friends a lot too though.
Love seeing and hearing about what everyone's using. I usually do my empties monthly so will update you all at the end of the month of what's been used.

Fraaahnces · 25/08/2022 04:02

I am very impressed with your stash @Preemptedyou. Suspect everyone on here should be writing reviews or vlogging.

Thank you. I actually do. Started my Instagram just over a year ago and absolutely loving it. Have worked with so many fantastic brands already. It's an absolute dream come true

Experiment627 · 25/08/2022 05:49

@Preemptedyou good for you! Does that mean you get loads of freebies?

Yeh!! A LOT!!! I feel very very lucky

Currently going through a drunk elephant phase.
Tried the rosi drops which seemed to work OK until one day hubby says what's that line on your cheek, so it needs to be blended in well. But when done so it gives a lovely rosy glow to cheeks. Wish they did a Berry shade.

Also tried the bronzi drops following my holiday abroad, its basically a bronzing tint but I won't continue with it it was just to prolong the tan after my hols and will feel wrong fir the season as we go into Autumn.

Have fallen slightly in love with the lala retro cream although it's quite rich so probably better for winter.

Also the slaii cleansing balm had a free sample from space NK and like it but not enough to buy the full size.

Also got a sample of the raspberry glycolic Serum, felt OK but won't see the effects from a sample so won't repurchase.

Love drunk elephant but the samples are tiny and full price £££.

MyCatsSlave · 25/08/2022 07:31

Determined to get through my stash to make way for more. I tried some Goldfaden MD needleless line serum on my décolletage last night and it was amazing.

@Zeeza I hadn’t thought of using older stuff on my body, that’s such a good idea.

Experiment627 · 25/08/2022 11:48

I have three empties to report:

  • Superdrug Me+ tranexamic acid booster: did nada for the redness on my chest - maybe 2.5% is not enough?
  • Kingfisher fennel toothpaste: this is HG for me
  • Boots Ingredients niacinamide clay mask: really like this - cleansing but non-drying

Preempted, that is pretty impressive.

Thank you so much. It's my happy place lol

Fraaahnces · 26/08/2022 00:32

@Experiment627 I swear by tranexamic acid. It absolutely fixed my “Fried in the Aussie Sun” chesticles. (I didn’t think to apply sunscreen there and it’s even more vulnerable than your face!!!) It doesn’t work quickly, but over time. I swear by this one… (plus it’s a huge 180ml bottle for greater real estate!)

for greater effect I believe there is a serum and a cream in the same range. I used it for about six months every single day x2 and continue to do so - especially in the summer time. (It’s light and not remotely sticky. Easy to do.) You have to also be hyper vigilant with sunscreen/covering with clothes

Experiment627 · 26/08/2022 14:16

Amazing @Fraaahnces thank you so much - I will give these products a go!

Hi 👋

Big skincare enthusiast here!

I've stopped exfoliating completely and my skin is the best it's ever been. It's a revelation feel like I've finally understood what my skin needs.

Experiment627 · 26/08/2022 14:18

@BryceQuinlanTheFirst you are very welcome to the thread! How interesting... give up a skin care process = better skin!

Hi 👋

How often were you exfoliating before you stopped?

Fraaahnces · 27/08/2022 09:20

Actually, I have stopped with acid toners (exfoliating) and can report the same thing. Occasionally I can feel a little graininess where I collect oil, (sebaceous filaments or baby blackheads?) and I use a powder cleanser made with rice and AHA/BHA plus fruit enzymes. *Maybe once every two weeks….I keep the bottle in the shower. I think my skin barrier is much better as a result (less stingy around the sides of the nose, etc, less redness.) and makeup when I wear it, sits better too.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 27/08/2022 10:30

@Preemptedyou

I was exfoliating about 3x per week with an acid.

I do use Tret nightly.

I found Tret and exfoliating just too much even though it wasn't on the same night it made my skin temperamental.

My skin is dry and all it needs is loads of moisture I've found. So I have a lovely time finding nice rich creams and oils ☺️

MidnightMeltdown · 27/08/2022 10:49

Some dermatologists say that we don't need moisturiser:

globalnews.ca/news/4492864/do-you-need-to-use-moisturizer/

I've been thinking about giving that up, or at least reducing my use of it, but I have too many in the stash at the moment!

MidnightMeltdown · 27/08/2022 11:41

I have empties:

84) Fresh Sugar Lip Balm - Really liked this. Perfect consistency. Will probably RP

85) Sunday Riley Good Genes - Meh. Not sure that it does anything

86) Origins Ginzing Gel Moisturiser - Really liked this. It had a cooling effect on the skin and was perfect for the heatwave. Good consistency for me. Will probably RP at some point.

87) Emma Hardy Moringa Cleansing Balm - very nice cleansing balm.

Total for the year 87/125

I never got the hype over good genes either and it's so pricey

Experiment627 · 27/08/2022 13:02

I have Good Genes to try out! May take on holiday with me...

Caudalie Vinoperfect radiance serum.

wheresmyshoe · 28/08/2022 15:55

Perfume empty, this used to be a favourite but I'm not sure if bottle age or familiarity has put me off. All used up - Balenciaga Paris.
