Upper Blepheroplasty

itwasntmetho · 26/05/2022 23:27

I've made a decision, it will be this year. Can anyone recommend a surgeon for the upper bleph that they have personally used?
If you can provide pictures that would be so great. Thanks in advance!

Can highly recommend Dr Braham at SKIN clinic Kings Heath Birmingham. Had mine done a year ago, delighted with results. No regrets.... Go for it.

Ive just had upper blepharoplasty on Monday. Did anyone else find the stitch removal ‘horrendous’? Mine are due out next Monday.

Yes, I'm afraid to say that I found it absolutely horrendous. By far the worst part of the whole procedure. Sorry!

Was it one running stitch? So painful then? X

Don't know if it was one running stitch. I'm guessing not cos the nurse picked out lots of bits. It wasn't just one thread that pulled through. Yes, incredibly painful. I turned the air blue and had to have multiple breaks.

Mines on running stick so hopefully it’s not too bad! I’m usually ok with things like this but sometimes it’s the ‘little’ things that are the worst!

I used David Johnson consultant plastic surgeon in Oxford for this . Incredible results (I had upper and lower) .

I honestly didn't even feel it

OliverBabish · 23/02/2023 17:31

Saw this bumped again so thought I’d just come on and sing Dr David Cheung’s praises again. The work he did on me and someone else I know was fantastic and he was so thorough in consultation (took lots of pictures and noted I have a very slight lazy eye!)

Aftercare was also great. Genuinely nice man.

Good luck to anyone considering it or recovering - it can be a bit of a shock (I recall wearing sunglasses in December on the school run 😩) but the change in my confidence was worth it. I genuinely think Blepharoplasty is one of the most subtle but effective things you can do to your face.

PardonmemynameisAlice · 23/02/2023 19:59

Would love to have this done but have always been too scared, am in the south east.

How long does it take to stop looking like you've been in a car crash?

really depends. I don't bruise easily so had it done on a Wednesday, got stitches out on Monday and could really go about my business with just light make up.

pinkpigletjoe · 23/02/2023 20:20

Anyone considering this ask your optician. Husband got this done on the NHS (free) simply because he has such droopy lids (family thing) surgeon said it was affecting his vision. He hadn't noticed but now has nice open eyes.

ughtheweather · 23/02/2023 20:29

Depends on how easily you bruise. I had an upper blepharoplasty in 2019 and had two black eyes for nearly six weeks! I'm so pale though and bruise so, so easily. My DH had it a year later with the same surgeon and had no bruising at all. He went into work (small office and they knew he was getting it done) from the day after surgery. I was so jealous!

That’s what I was hoping to hear! Thank you 😊 I just want them out now, they’re driving me crazy! 🤪

Dontsayyouloveme · 23/02/2023 20:57

I was advised to take arnica, three times a day for two weeks before and two weeks after. My bruising is what I would consider minimal, a lot went straight to yellow apart from two small bits on the top of my cheeks. I do have two areas of swelling though which I’m expecting to take a while to disappear but it doesn’t bother me tbh.

itwasntmetho · 26/02/2023 17:42

I didn't realise someone bumped this, even though it was almost a year ago I asked, I met two surgeons Amir at Bella Vou and James Smith at Coppergate (Nick Rhodes is very very booked up!) and I'm having the surgery with James in April. I'm shitting myself but I can't wait!!!
Thanks so much for the recommendations, I'll definitely post update pics after.

I’m also booked in for this surgery in May. I’ll do a thread here when I have it

It was yes! It was so easy, even the local anaesthetic needle didn’t hurt! Was done and dusted in an hour! Very impressed so far.. I think any surgeon at Coppergate will be fantastic tbh ☺️

Well the steri strips and Stiches are out! Well the one running stitch in each eye! Never felt a thing and my eyes look great.” even after just a week!

Show us @Dontsayyouloveme ??!!

Not quite ready for it yet but I think I will be looking at this in the future.

Pineappleredwine · 27/02/2023 15:15

I am following this thread as my my Botox Clinician has suggested I get this done. He gave me the name of a lady in Cambridge but I have family in York so that might be easier.

Let me know how it goes OP!

Moorfields offer this. It is where I would go for anything to do with eyes.
