Would you judge me?

I’m being a little vague (deliberately) please forgive me.

My husband is going for what equates to an interview.

I’ll also be visible to the interviewers.

If I was wearing an LV scarf and carrying a mulberry or LV bag too would you judge me negatively?

Sorry I know it’s a weird scenario!

Don't worry about it, my mate who is a vicar's wife wears all kinds of stuff on official duty. DMs, band t-shirts, stripey tights, purple hair the lot.

To be serious, depending on where your husband is going to be the vicar, it might seem a bit tone deaf in times of hardship ,to be wearing things like that. Yes you have your own income, but you are the wife of the parish vicar and I wouldnt expect you to be dressing in cashmere and using LV as a nappy bag. If he is going to be a vicar in Kensington, then I guess you can crack on.

Don’t vicars get free housing? And no council tax. The only vicar I know has a wife who rubs a lucrative business, they’re absolutely fricken loaded, multiple horses, trust me they’re living the life.
She has a massage parlour? Is that allowed or would that be judged? 😂😂

Depends on the interviewer surely ? As you could wear really expensive designer gear in front of me and I’d have no idea it was designer.

Stripped to his underwear to do a Christening in a parishioners home. Made inappropriate comments to the mother and young teen daughter. Touched the mother, dud other stuff with other parishoners. Has taken them 2 years to decide to suspend him. He will be back vicaring in 6 months. I'm glad I think the whole religion think is daft ,or I would be as disappointed as many of his parishioners.

I actually think you should wear them because it's important that you are you, and they can see who you truly are as a couple because they need to choose the right person to support the congregation.

And for what it's worth the bag doesn't look designer so I don't think they will necessarily notice.

Didn't vicars traditonally work their way through the Young wives club'. 1950s time. They might casually ponder on whether he would be tempted to take funds since he will be on a low salary and has a wife with expensive tastes. Just a casual ponder of course.

well your life your choice but I find it cringey too. As I said I know a vicar's wife who politely declined. As I also said, unless you are prepared to change your style for the whole time your husband is employed there, I think you should show then who you really are.
