Would you judge me?

I’m being a little vague (deliberately) please forgive me.

My husband is going for what equates to an interview.

I’ll also be visible to the interviewers.

If I was wearing an LV scarf and carrying a mulberry or LV bag too would you judge me negatively?

Sorry I know it’s a weird scenario!

Well they make a statement. And given you're unsure enough how that statement might be recieved to ask on here, and that a bag and scarf are easy enough to take off/ keep out of sight, I'd say, do that.

Pangolin44 · 01/04/2022 20:22

The fact you are worrying about this would make people notice.

If you're concerned, tone it down. You don’t have to sport LV.

RiaG91 · 01/04/2022 20:23

I really wouldn't notice what you were carrying, or wearing.

NearlyHeadlessNick · 01/04/2022 20:23

I wouldn't notice. I might possibly notice the mulberry but only if the logo caught my eye.
If I did notice, wouldn't care either way.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/04/2022 20:23

If you are worried about them, don’t wear them?

BingBangB0ng · 01/04/2022 20:23

If you’re worried you might be judged negatively, why not just avoid the risk? Is there a potential positive to wearing these items?

Vapeyvapevape · 01/04/2022 20:24

Personally, I wouldn't wear the scarf , just nice smart clothes then you won't have to worry about what they may or may not think.

NearlyHeadlessNick · 01/04/2022 20:24

Although I'm very intrigued as to why you'd need to be there at your husband's interview 🧐

Pangolin44 · 01/04/2022 20:24

It's a bonkers question really OP.

OverByYer · 01/04/2022 20:25

Is it a zoom interview? I have an image of you wandering around in the background flicking a scarf around and holding a handbag in view behind a seated husband on camera.

RampantIvy · 01/04/2022 20:26

Why would your handbag be visible in an interview?

Like @RiaG91 I wouldn't notice if you were wearing designer clothes or accessories.

tontown · 01/04/2022 20:26

It really depends on the role & industry. I'm quite into fashion but have a professional smart black bag that I wear only for interviews.

ZarquonsSandals · 01/04/2022 20:27

Don't wear designer stuff if you're worried about it. Strange set up that you're expected to be there.

HMSSophia · 01/04/2022 20:27

I wouldn't recognise designer stuff tbh and I interview senior management roles

No it’s in person.

Depends on the industry. My sister in law had to attend my brother's interview for a boarding housemaster role in a boarding school, as she would be living in the boarding house and would technically be a house parent of sorts. I think you are seriously overthinking it but if in doubt, why not go for something non designer/ non branded?

Sexnotgender · 01/04/2022 20:29

@Ionlydomassiveones

“I don’t think they would necessarily notice. But if they do I’m worried they’ll think negatively of me.”

So why take the risk? Just wear what you’d normally wear at a husband’s-interview-type-situation.

It’s stuff I wear day to day anyway. I’m not dressing any differently to normal. I’m just worried it’ll be perceived negatively.

I think I’m going to ditch the scarf and use a less expensive bag.

To be honest I would have no clue of something was designer or not

Hoppinggreen · 01/04/2022 20:32

Quite possibly the strangest stealth boast ever

Qwill · 01/04/2022 20:32

Is it quite a modern company? Are your concerns you’ll look a bit outdated? I really wouldn’t worry at all, people should wear the clothes they like, but it sounds like you feel a bit uncomfortable, hence your post. I think you should just wear what you like, especially as the focus will be on your husband. I don’t think I’d like my partner feeling uncomfortable/nervous when I was having the interview.

Not a boast at all 🙄

Sounds like a probation hearing!!

Why would you be at the interview? Who has an interview with their partner there

EllaPaella · 01/04/2022 20:35

If I was interviewing someone for a job I wouldn't be looking or interested in what their partner was wearing. I would be interested in whether they were up for the job and a suitable candidate. Context is everything here I feel!
