Would you judge me?

I’m being a little vague (deliberately) please forgive me.

My husband is going for what equates to an interview.

I’ll also be visible to the interviewers.

If I was wearing an LV scarf and carrying a mulberry or LV bag too would you judge me negatively?

Sorry I know it’s a weird scenario!

@PebbleMillAtOne

Sounds like a probation hearing!! Why would you be at the interview? Who has an interview with their partner there
Also not a probation hearing 😂

If you are worried about looking flashy or showy then just don't wear any branded items. Problem solved.

Sexnotgender · 01/04/2022 20:37

@EllaPaella

If I was interviewing someone for a job I wouldn't be looking or interested in what their partner was wearing. I would be interested in whether they were up for the job and a suitable candidate. Context is everything here I feel!
I have deliberately been vague. Sorry 😕

I think I’m going to ditch the scarf and use a less expensive bag.

Goodness!
I didn't know there were less expensive bags.
Dear me.

Ambition9to5 · 01/04/2022 20:43

Id lose the lv scarf
A bag is practical. Those who love bags will notice it and those who think a draw string bag is grand wont notice

LizzoBorden · 01/04/2022 20:44

Honestly though, I would judge if it’s massively logoed. Too try hard.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 01/04/2022 20:44

Is your husband on trial for defrauding old ladies and you’re worried that the designer brands will turn the jury against him?

Zazdar · 01/04/2022 20:46

I wouldn’t judge.

But then I have my car insured with LV.

@JosephineDeBeauharnais haha that was my thought exactly! Court hearing or similar and OP doesn't want to show where all the loot money went Grin

Sensible advice. I need a decent sized bag for nappies and assorted baby stuff.

It’s difficult because I do need to dress nicely.

Definitely a job interview. No loot unfortunately!

I wouldn't notice. Tbh there are so many fake items out there I wouldn't know if it was real or fake, I wouldn't be inspecting either that closely. So wear the scarf and use the bag if that's what you would usually do.

tootrueblue · 01/04/2022 20:55

Are you going on Dragons' Den?

Riseholme · 01/04/2022 20:55

OP is your dh a vicar?
If so the interviewers certainly shouldn't be judging.

Bugger. How did you guess.

Think of the logos as just another statement pattern. Layer too many on and it clashes. Takes the focus away from you the person and puts too much emphasis on the designer name.

If you feel like your comfortable self with either item, choose one for the day. Make it your statement piece and keep the rest of your outfit more neutral.

(She says while wearing jeans and an electric pink striped sweater... Wink)

Tee hee!
MermaidEyes · 01/04/2022 20:58

I'd recognise brands as I'm interested in fashion, but I honestly wouldn't be able to tell if it's real and you're loaded or you've just been down the market and splashed out on some fakes. And wouldn't particularly care either way.

godmum56 · 01/04/2022 20:58

In the Uk that is weird. What if your husband wasn't married? What if you didn't want to be involved? What if you don't measure up? "well Mr Sexnotgender we really like you but you will have to can the missus"....or alternatively "Well we like your wife but we'd need to partner her up with applicant x who is a really strong contender but the wife.....very iffy"

IvorCutler · 01/04/2022 20:59

Is he a vicar or something? Does seem a very strange setup. Just wear what your comfortable in/feel smart in. I’m sure they won’t bat an eyelid. Is etiquette for such a situation googleable?

gunnersgold · 01/04/2022 20:59

Unless you are in London I'd think they were fake ! I notice clothes and brands though .
Why not just not wear them then you'll blend in 🤷‍♀️

sparkleywallpaper · 01/04/2022 20:59

Here is me thinking you were going to be wearing a Liverpool scarf and having a Liverpool bag on show.

I have no street cred.
